Yeah. You won't get the rolls this way, but this method is fine for unlocking the double, triple and charged slash, since every swing hits, and you're hitting something that doesn't die. Once you get the charged slash though, use it.
Ciel: "Zero! What's taking you so long?!" Zero: "I'm busy Leveling up my weapons!" Ciel: "...Wha-?" Zero: "Cerveau told me all about it. Don't worry to much, I'll be done in a Week or two..." Ciel: "Uh, okay..."
I always assumed grinding for the weapons was Zero either relearning how to use weapons, like the buster and Z saber, and mastering a weapon true gruelling training. By Zero 3-4 he's now well versed in using hid weapon. Now in a way you can understand and immerse yourself in why some swordmasters in history just go to some place and train with the same tecnique non stop.
It also helps lore-wise that by Z3, Zero ain't waking up from a deep sleep (Z1) or an emergency repair (Z2). Since he had constant maintenance in Z3 and Z4, he didn't have to relearn everything all over again.
I find those tower enemies with those spike on top of them in the Aztec Falcon's stage to be the best way to lvl up the saber and triple rod because you get to practice your reversals while farming them. And they're easily accessible too
that’s y u gotta do the move that corresponds to the move that u want to unlock (dash slash = rolling slash) and use the move u just unlocked more often to unlock more (full charge z saber = quick full charge z saber)

Grinding to level up your weapons was the one thing about the Zero series I really didn't enjoy. It artificially extends the play time by replacing gameplay elements with tedium. If they had allowed you to start with all the weapon powers fully unlocked from the start of the game, nothing about the game at all would have changed except how much time it takes you to beat it.
I leveled up pretty fast (~6 min), you can use cocoon with mini-spiders at the first location. Also you level up faster if you use your best moves like spinning/air attack or charged attack.

I do the saber grinding in the first mission up to level 5. Also, yeah this video is way too damn accurate that it's actually terrifying. Honestly, I think Zero 4's grinding issues is way worse then Zero one because in that game, at least the drop rate was reasonable (I'm Not including weapon grinding in that).
The only obnoxious grinding in Z4 was for Moliod parts because you can ONLY find them in the intermission level, so if you get bad RNG your time score nosedives. As for Z1, have you ever tried to get cyber-elf Jackson? It takes several hours of grinding for the gargantuan number of e-crystals
@tdawgmaster7833 If I ever attempted to do that, then that will clearly mean I don't have a life, but I have videos to script and make as well as shit to do. My brother can do that because he has a lot of free time on his hands. Plus, the number of times the enemies drop things I'm not grinding for whenever I'm grinding for parts, energy crystals, or health drops is pretty damn ridiculous. That or the many times where they drop nothing.
@arandomstuff6211 If that was in one sitting, then you have earned the " I don't value my time" award. In all seriousness, that must've been really boring to do, and I feel bad for you.
Zero 4 having worse grinding? Man you're tripping balls, getting every single crafting piece and fully upgraded cyber elf (both of which you don't need unless you're going for 100% completion) is a 1000x times more comfortable and a easier experience compared to Zero 1's E-crystal grinding and weapon grinding for basic upgrades
I recall configuring autofire onto the ZR button using Steam Input to make that process faster, and I had to do it multiple times because I kept losing to the bird guy.
Most recent playthrough I just grinded 6000 crystals on the spider pods at the start for like half an hour, snagged all the health upgrade elves, and just went about the game normally. Wasn’t half bad, but a funny thing is that by the end, Z saber was still a star away from max rank, and I never touched any other weapon. Plus I was incapable of affording any other elf after those health upgrades… god this game is grindy.
Quality gameplay. The best weapon upgrade I've ever seen was in Ratchet and Clank where you had to solve a riddle during a story quest but they just smashed and grabbed it instead. - No grind, just entertainment -

I was going to say the same! To look up Magnus Zero's guide. It's sword leveling made easy.

Spiders better because 1: e crystals, 2: ... Just ez to farm
didn't know the gba had a turbo button integrated

Wait..... I didn't know that you could farm EXP using that Electric Barrier.
I know and it was painful. Not because I accidentally got hit by the barrier but because of how long it took.
In fact you dont
Only kills give xp and how much depends on the move you used

I personally used the respawning tower enemy in the first Resistance mission (the Waste Disposal Center).
Imagine those who used the train stage to farm

His orange spin move was awesome
Accurate
Even with the speed-up thing on the emulator it was so boring
I used that on the mmzx collection and after 10 minutes of farming I died and it bring me back in a save right after I unlocked double slash..
Wait, you can cheese the level ups?! I played MMZ1 recently and this would have made it way more fun.
When I have to do this I put the game to run 8x times normal speed.
Espera- yo no sabia que se podia hacer eso
Ahh yes. I remember this
I farm exp with Crystal as well
Just by revisited the stage
In 1day i almost got all the star 😅
Now do the triple rod, buster shot, and shield boomerang…
…Before you die of old age.
So is it how many times you use it, or how many times you kill enemies? I thought you had to kill an enemy to get skill towards leveling up.

By hitting enemies 100 times with the Z-Saber while jumping.
