@ 9:13 something happens ----the music--with the quality of the film and camera angle---it's ethereal and timeless --anyone else notice the strange beauty?!
this is wonderful!Thank you for sharing it with us :) Now as I see May Murray it's clear where Billy Wilder got his inspiration for the character of Norma Desmond,I read somewhere that May lived the rest of her life in delusion,in the the shadow of the long lost glamour of her Hollywood years.
I love the musical score with this picture it really makes it even more enjoyable. I sent you a message on your channel. Could you please reply when you have a moment? Thank you.
john gilbert, born john pringle.the extra on the right, the old servant ,is his father also named john pringle who abandoned him when he was a kid.his mother remarried to walter gilbert hence his name john gilbert.gilbert was becoming a big star at this time when this first father finally shows up asking for money, not knowing who he was.but gilbert was pissed that he was abandoned long ago.gilbert said it was to late to reconcile.great silent film one of the biggest hits of 1924!
It does look like Clark Gable ! Is it known that he was an extra for this movie ? you could briefly get a glimpse of him at 2:03 Hes the guy in a dark suit that keeps sticking his head out to take a look at Mae Murray dancing , do you see him now ? Wow the guy that noticed Gable here certainly has eagle eyes ! if you blink you could miss him !
@@starbuono3333 Wow! You noticed him. You're eagle eyed. It is Clark 2:03. Has anyone seen Joan Crawford in this film. I heard was an extra in this film too

Mae Murray. A star and personality all her own. She was extremely popular in the silent era. Her dramatics and flamboyance made her a star.
