I like to headcanon that this is what the White Queen sounds like. Her voice I mean.
I have a headcanon that Carapacians are actually incredible singers but are really quiet. So I imagine PM singing this with WV, shocking everyone.
Really disappointed that this song was never used.
Now it has been in Volume 10 at least. ;)
At least Skies of Skaia was, which is basically a portion of this and instrumental.

...I think this will be the final song we listen to as we bid Homestuck farewell. I gotta admit, I'm not ready for it. The thought of Homestuck ending scares me, I've invested so much time into it. I love Homestuck to death. I don't want it to go. But I guess that's just part of the experience. Once it ends, we will be able to look back and remember something so exemplary and grand existed, and we were a part of it. We helped shape Homestuck into what it is, and thinking about that makes me feel satisfied. So although the end is almost here, we got to do something really great. We got to be Homestucks. And that's fantastic.
We suffered through many a giga-pause. we've suffered through many unrighteous and heroic deaths, This will be like the peace of a grand war. (until of course the alternate ending fanfics arrive.) But once it's over. We all will say to all the new Homestucks that arrive. "You'll never suffer as much as we did. Sure you'll cry over the same characters, But you weren't force to wait and find out if they ever find happiness, love. ofrlife again..."
We have the game and paradox space, its not going to stop for a long time.

Also, just a theory, what if this isn't Hussie's magnum opus? What is he pulls a George R. R. Martin and reveals his true masterpiece. What if we were only reading "Fevre Dream", and we have only glimpsed "A Game of Thrones" waiting in the wings. Melodrama aside, what if this is just the beginning?

...I stayed because it turned out to be a fucking masterpiece.
While listening to this song, imagine this:
All of the bosses are dead, all of the Jacks and the Condesce and everyone else. They finally succeeded in the game and created a new world. The final page, a long flash showing everyone exhausted but happy. Credits show on the screen. Homestuck is finally over.

Cant stop listening, over and over. I imagine an elf singing in a huge inn with bards playing, with sad eyes, remembering the long lost days and how much she lost. As nerd as it sounds, i will make this a scene in a D&D campain, where the players will meet this glorious singer elf who travels in a misterious troupe, the first time they listen to her will be with THIS song, and I will start to play it as they picture the scene and hear the music, all lights go out except for the candles in the tables, no one talks, complete silence, everyone looks at the stage as if they were waiting for this moment all night long, with little but key narrative in between.
The elf holds a gem that will prove vital to the saving of the kingdom, a gem this old as time elf will die protecting, in the arms of one of the players, after they all bond and get to know her tragic story of sacrifice and loss. Damn it will be epic. Best part is that none of my friends know about this song, or any homestuck song (that the bards and the elf will be playing during their trips to other inns), son of bitches wont give homestuck a chance but they sure will remember the music (songs like "alternia", "three in the morning" and "your universe", "serenade" and on a rainy day at the inn, JADE MOTHER", after the elf tells the story of her son's death, and how much he loved her voice).

Bestie help I'm getting emotional about Homestuck in the year of our lord 2021! In all seriousness though, this song is genuinely one of my favorites of all time. I've been coming back to it all these years and it holds its beauty in every listen

God, hearing Song of Skaia and Skies of Skaia just brings tears to my eyes. This game that they are playing is truly amazing, I mean who wouldn't want to have their own universe? Though before we are able to reach that goal, the reaching is even a challenge. Skaia is such an amazing place, but the challenge to get there is hard as it should be, as reaching it and being god tier is no easy task. Darkness is trying to beat light, but by stopping the darkness we preserve Skaia, and do the impossible.
When someone said this should be the final piece of music for the last flash, I decided to listen to it. Now I can only imagine that, thanks to weird time shit, the end will show the shrunken, devastated planets and skaia. Ms. Paint will then pick them up and start singing the lyrics of the song and hang the planets over a crib.

This song just makes you relizing how amazing Homestuck is. It has much more content than just being a joke. It tells a story that is actually depressing in many ways Hussie has made Homestuck a delightful and emotional webcomic for all of us.
The song, the artwork, all of it; pure majesty. This is what made fall in love with the world of Homestuck and fandoms and the internet in general. Everyone talks about how there's nothing but idiots with too much time on their hands here. But this takes skill and dedication. Not just anyone can do something this remarkable, and this is just a song to represent one piece of Homestuck. So I'd like to say, thank you. Thank you fandom, and thank you Hussie. I'll be sticking around for more.
To those coming from a certain fanventure, I say to you, Don't be upset that He's Gone, be happy that They made it through for Him.
I will be shedding some serious tears when the comic ends. Even though I joined near the end of the whole thing, it's inspired me so much. The fandom is really great and I've had a wonderful time being in it. I hope it will never end, but it would be weird to see me as a 90-year-old woman cosplaying a pre-Scratch version of whoever my daughter/son is cosplaying. I don't know.

How about this: "It is a story about 4 kids who have a coming of age journey of a grand and complex scope amidst shenanigans, confusing and sometimes nonlinear events, and share their tale with a plethora of characters who all have things to teach us. I cry every time. God, this song is gorgeous.
This has to be used for the end of it all. Once everything in homestuck is resolved and people are finally at peace. Whether they find peace in conflict or in conjunction, skaia will still sing the tales of our legendary heros throughout the session

ok hear me out, but from 4:42 to 5:47, I can only imagine the black queen and white queen singing together.
Hearing this song for the first time... It's just so beautiful! But it feels like a reminder, like the song Alternia. It's a serious reminder that this comic will not last forever and, when the day comes that it ends, everyone who is a fan will most likely be shedding some serious tears. This comic's fandom has so many amazing people, and has given me amazing friends, and... I just don't know what I'll do after it's gone.
I will never get tired of this song. I will never get tired of Homestuck.

i'm starting testosterone therapy in a week or so. this song was very important to me during my homestuck phase, and i would sing it all the time; it'll likely become impossible for me once my voice deepens. so, i've decided to record a cover before i start hormones - then i'll add lower harmonies and duet myself once my voice is deeper. a slice of my adolescence preserved, neatly wrapped up with my adult truth.
