The 'bricks' we had didn't even have cylinders inside - they were hollow/open underneath. There was one or more green or red flat pieces and about 50 bricks - full size (8 protrusions) and half size with 4 ....that was it.

even in the us some sets are extremely overpriced especially some of the jurassic world, technic and duplo and junior sets. youve gotta spoil your kids buy the more expensive sets and half more expensive sets are overpriced like the box is big but the builds and contents are small. When I was a kid, born 1965, we had a big box, a an old apple box, a bushel size. It was full of Lego, I didn't think anything other than it was our Lego. Now I think that someone must have seen us poor kids and collected all that Lego for us.
