I have been teaching this piece to my students for many years, they all love it :) I just watched a few different versions on UA-cam but yours is the best I've heard, it sounds perfect when you play it!
Gohar! First time ever you didn't say your name at the beginning of the video lesson. My favorite part, other than your playing, your teacher, your voice, well everything! I'm OCD So, it threw me! Ha! Just thought I'd share. Ok, back to practicing! Ps. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and knowledge with all of us! Peace!
Thanks. I have learned Carcassi #3, Sor's Study in B Minor, Spanish Romance, and a few other beginner studies. Lagrima and Adelita are next on my list along with continued daily technique practice. I practice tremolo a little every day, but have not learned any tremolo pieces yet. At which point do you recommend learning Carcassi op.60 no. 7? I want to progress slowly and correctly, but I think this piece might help me progress quite well. I like this piece and Canon in D as my first intermediate pieces to tackle.
It's one of my favourites from op 60. Awesome for the right hand control ... An amazing gift from the Maestro Carcassi and from You master Gohar... Just lovely, Thank You a lot.
That's the fastest I've heard that played. Really difficult piece... I strive for about 60 bpm in cut time for this one. This is featured in William Leavitt's "Classical Studies for Pick-Style Guitar".
Excellent video, thank you. And you play this very well. My teacher has me learning this etude, but I'm working on it at about 85-90bpm, so the tremolo parts are hardly tremolo, but it is complex and a great exercise for me. I don't know that this is the most technically challenging piece in my repertoire, but it is proving to be very difficult for me to learn and memorize because it is such a busy and dynamic study and it's so much different from the type of music I normally choose to learn.
Thank you for this I can’t wait to see you in Tampa Florida. It was great to meet you at the CGCA NYC workshop. I love your explanations and helpful guidance on this beloved piece!
Hi Gohar. Thanks so much for these tips on No 7 which I'm currently learning. Really helpful about bringing out the top melody lines. Hope you are well. Still in awe of your concert at the 2017 Summer School in Beverley. Hope you will be back there at some point. All the very best. Myles
At the moment I can play this piece only andante....maybe in 10 years Ill get to do it allegro...thank you again for sharing your skills and talents and for your time.
Once again, You're one of Very Rare Guitarist I like to hear because You're near the only on not making the strings crackling :p which of course gives A Clear Nice Sound as Beautiful Peaces for Guitar Very Deserve :) 👏
Hello, do you sometimes play extempore? I can clearly see the pleasantness and tranquility of your mind. Surely beautiful melodies would come to you Gohar.
Gohar, your tips on connecting the high notes were extremely valuable to me, thank you. I'm having a hard time playing it faster than 80 bpm though . And Allegro is 120 bpm! Would you have any advices/exercices in order to reach higher bpms ? BTW, are you using AMI our IMI/MIM to play the 'tremolo' ?
Set your metronome to 2bp past your target (assuming you can still play it accurately at that speed.) So if you are comfortable at 80, your target is 82, set it to 84 and do a couple measures for about 10 reps. Then try 82, should feel easier. Bounce between 84 and 82 until 82 is comfortable, then use it as your new baseline and repeat. It's important to be uncomfortable but accurate because you don't want to learn mistakes. If you can't do 84, try 83 and 81. I use AMI for the tremolo.
Every player has their speed limit. There are many reasons why someone might not be able to move faster, tension being one of them, inefficiency I’m movement another… just two name two.
Gohar is right everybody has their speed limit, but you have a better chance of success at refining the motor skills necessary for acquiring that speed if you started as a child. Classical guitar playing is difficult to excel at if you did not start as a child. Many of the concert artist I know of started as children. I'm almost sure Gohar started as a child herself. On that note if you cannot play a piece like this the traditional classical technique way, you can use a flat pick, or use pick and fingers at the same time (hybrid-picking). Just keep this in mind, it's about the music not the method. Check out Rick Graham playing J.S. Bach E Major prelude hybrid picking style...ua-cam.com/video/UPnuU8NN1b8/v-deo.html
@@stringsofsingh3779 yes yes.. just was wondering how beats per minute? I am guessing the speed at 190 to 200 beats per minute. Your playing is Topnotch!
I love the Carcassi etudes. Especially opus 60. I've worked on bunches of them. Hope to master them all some day. You are a great inspiration!

This is by far the best version of this Etude that I have heard. My sincere respects to you, Gohar!
Thank you for this wonderful legato lesson. I’ve played this etude for years but after this lesson, I have a new focus for it.
