I swear the scene where graham tells the story to Morgan, always brings me to tears.
Life is precious stay together stay strong hope for best prepare for the worst.
The way Graham tries to calm his son when they are being attacked is the most human thing I have ever seen put to film. My all time favourite scene in any movie. :)

I think it was an allusion to dying without God. As the aliens were making way into the house.
I'll explain why. I think he knew in his mind he was gonna die. And I think at that moment he realized he was in danger of eternal damnation without being right with God. I don't think he was as scared of the aliens as he was of dying without Christ. The tone seemed like that. Not trying to make a religious point, just interpreting the scene from the way it seemed.
@@robjackson5245 I mean, the aliens are an allegory for demons in the film. I'm not exactly religious, but I do love the themes of this movie and Graham was absolutely saying he wasn't ready to die, that he had too much to live for in his family, and it was one of the first signs of his faith returning in his love and protective instincts. Later in the scene he said he hates God, which he would not even think to say if he didn't believe God was even listening.
