Huge fan of Zatch Bell, and had the incredible fortune of finding a Zatch Bell pop-up shop as I was walking through a train station in Japan. I bought an art book - gives me hope that the anime will eventually be rebooted some day
I love Zatch Bell. It's my most favourite anime. I felt really bad after coming to know that they had to abruptly end the first season. I hope that they re-make the whole 1st season till the Clear Note arc, and then continue on with Season 2!!
It's a victim of circumstances. The mangakai, Makoto Raiku broke his wrist punching a wall in frustration with his working conditions. In addition, the publisher later lost several of his original art pieces. Raiku sued them and settled. The injury caused the manga to go on hiatus for a while, also causing the anime to end with a subpar Toei original ending. In addition, it's muddled the rights for the manga and anime in America (but maybe not EU/SA?) Raiku made his own publisher for ZB2. They're taking in offers for new licensing deals, so I hope we get an anime remake that treats the whole series popular, gives it worldwide reach, and eventually animates 2!
Huh, that's how it went down? He did bring up getting a wrist trauma in the author's notes of the later Zatch Bell volumes, but there he implied that he received it from overworking himself drawing the series. Makes sense that he wouldn't want the readers to know all these extra details behind the scenes, and the editor probably wouldn't let him say everything regardless.
@@martin0499 the funny thing is, he did re-release ZB1 with a new segment at the end called "zatch bell cafe" so give it a time for them to reupload the chapters
@@martin0499 I bought the manga from Japan, the kazenban version isn't that expensive and it's quite beautiful. Luckily we are getting a new release on Spanish, but they release like 2 volumes per year.
4 years ago I was at a party drunk. I struck up a conversation with a stranger and I mentioned I liked anime. He said “I remember watching a boy in a dress shooting lighting out of his mouth. but I can’t remember if that was a real show”. I said “oh I’m a huge Zatch Bell fan”. He smiled and said “I’ve been trying to remember that show for over 10 years! I didn’t think it was real”. I’ll never forget the look in his eyes when he had that revelation. Zatch bell is a series that has touch so many people. But remains as a misty fog in history.
@shnorkeythefourth4572 dude that series felt like a fever dream. For me, there's this WB show called spider riders. People give me strange ass looks when I talk about it.
7:33 In the Mashle fanbook, Komoto said that the spells in his series were based on Zatch Bell In a concept art for Aoyama from Mha, Horikoshi put a note on it mentioning Folgore. And in the Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition Q&A, Akutami said that Gojo's blue was inspired by Brago's Baberuga Gurabidon. Those are all that I know of
Zatch Bell was the first manga I ever read. I would go to Barnes and Noble and read it by the volume when I was little. Viz stopped publishing it right before the finale of the Faudo arc, so I never knew how the story ended until I read fan translations online when I was in high school. It was just as good as I remembered and honestly the art is really impressive!
0:58 Just a note on the anime. The reason on why the anime ended before the ending of the manga was because the mangaka got an injury on his hand. This caused Raiku to go on an extended break for his hand to heal but the anime had run out of budget for fillers so Toei had to divert from the manga. The anime botched a lot of characters scenes at the ending, specially the ones with Zeon and Gash as Zeon didn't reconcile with Gash. The kicker to all that is that the voice of Gash was Ikue Otani, who voices Pikachu and Chopper from OP, was changed in the final 4 episodes. The VA was only changed because Otani went on maternity leave so it unfortunately leaves a stale taste on the ending. There's also a lot of history between Raiku and Shogakukan as the publisher was overworking Raiku. As Raiku got fed up with them more, the final straw was that he had sued them as the publisher lost 5 colored artworks. That has caused some major issues with the distribution of the anime release as Shogakukan didn't want anything to do with the series anymore so it has some licensing issues. So that is why you don't see it on major anime streaming sites There's little info about that since it was so long ago but there is so much more than it seems with that anime ending.
The sequel is giving me hope it will stay relevant. Also because it's seriously so damn good, every chapter so far was enjoyable and had incredible moments
Im really glad people are starting to remember Zatch bell more and more. Because i was shocked with how good the manga was, despite never finishing the series. It was around when i heard that zatch bell was getting a sequal manga that i decided to give it a offical read. After finishing it i began to move onto reading the sequal manga. as of now i look forward to every month where i get to read the sequal manga. This series has a special place in my heart and i wish for one day it gets a proper anime adaptation and a manga re-release here in the states.
I’m glad it’s proved me wrong. With sequels I just always assume that 99% of the time things will just be a letdown. But the sequel has been great! I hope it stays course.
@@kassygo1375considering what's happening to popular anime out of Japan I prefer it kinda staying there woke us companies censoring anime like it's illegal
Based off what I’ve read up on it’s mainly because Makoto didn’t have the license to Zatch bell until before Zatch Bell 2 came out. So it made doing anything with the series nigh impossible. He’s publishing the Zatch Bell 2 independently so really all it’ll take will be a production company.
@@YMatt2029 I don’t think it’s changed much since Part 1. Plus it’s been years since the OG his artwork was bound to evolve over the years but it’s still got that early 2000s charm. It feels cleaner since he’s not on a weekly schedule.
I wouldn't be an anime fan if not for Zatch Bell! It was my gateway anime. It was such a great series. I would *love* to see an anime remake that adapts the rest of the manga. It would also be nice to see the full series be published in English, but I feel like that would be asking for a miracle.
Sure, the final Clear battle is POWER OF FRIENDSHIP ULTRA EXTREME MODE, but I really like that moment since it is insanely emotional, hugely satisfactory and plays a coral role in the themes of the story. I mean, after one whole manga about being a good king respected and loved by all and one villain who after being defeated once unleashes a bullshit power up, to every demon giving Zatch support since they recognize him as a person worthy of the title of king is a fiat I can accept. Right into the heart of the work. Furthermore when it isn't even the real final battle of the whole series. Also, I have to say volumes 23, 24, 25 and 26 emotionally killed me. But oh hoy volumes 31 and 32. "See you tomorrow". They make me cry every single time I remember them. I'm currently reading the sequel and what an awesome work it is being. Last chapter was beyond amazing. I really hope it gets a new anime, since it deserves recognition again.
Seriously tho, the battle with Clear Note is such a great example of bullshit powerups done right and feels like it was always meant to happen. I mean the series' name is GOLDEN Gash Bell and it's only when everyone sees how Zatch refuses to stand down for their sakes that he's granted that power. I think as readers, seeing how spell classes advance, we also got moments of "huh I wonder what so and so's Shin-class spells would look like" so we also get that payoff through the golden book. And with the sacrifices that lead up to that battle, the friends lost just trying to GET TO THE FIGHT, Zatch getting that power is earned and justified. You see it and just go "YES!" "See you tomorrow" and being proud to carry a friend on your back. Being a hippo instead of a lion. Papipurio and Rupa' entire final arc. Jeez, you forget that half of these characters are children going through all this. Raiku's emotional character writing is fucking masterclass. One last "Jioruk." FUCKING RAIFOJIO(!), OH MY GAWD, I'M MAKING MYSELF SAD! Ugh, time for a reread.
@charcoal200 Zatch Bell finale is a book example of fanservice done right. If Clear and Shin Kuria represent the will to die and destroy, then the counteratgack must the will to live. Despite some bits of foreshadowing through the series (golden aura in british forest, Won Lei's book last stand, how emotions fuel the book and trigger spells) it is sorta bullshit and could had been hinted more, the outcome is perfect. Zatch's stubborness motivates everybody to live and fight, and 97 mamodos vs bullshitman using every ultimate spell is nothing but satisfactory. Plus, starting with Dani, who fas a fan favourite was a splendid decision.
I always thought Clear Note took so much time to make his move was because he was stuck with Vino for a partner who wasnt even a year old by the start of the series iirc. Also he became a bigger threat when he forced Gorm to work with him which was most likely after the Faudo arc
Bro I loved it so much I even got into the damn TCG. You had your own spell book and you had to fill it up with different cards. Doing damage forces your opponent to turn that many pages and once they run out their book is “destroyed”
Never got to actually play it, but i can truthfully say, thats what got me into collecting cards thoroughly and actually take care and sleeve/binder them, after i dropped Pokemon in Gen 2/3. It was a great concept cause your book was also your deckbox.
I recall Zatch Bell managed to turn a recurring gag into a brutal heart wrenching moment. Kido: Dr. Riddles will be okay! He's invincible! Dr. Riddles: I was........Lying.
Zatch Bell was definitely one of those anime that I gaslit myself into thinking it didn't exist. I caught every episode save for the last few as a kid, yet I was 20 when I realized, "Oh, I did watch that!" Oh, yeah, it's slow at first, but it was so good. Underrated for sure.
Ngl I still remember bawling my eyes out in the library after reading the end of the manga. It’s a goated series from back then and I didn’t knew there was a continuation of it 👀 Thanks for this video, Masked 😁
One of the biggest parts of the charm of Zatch Bell is how it balances out humor and sadness in such beautiful ways, that I look for in a Shonen manga and what most Shonen manga should strive to achieve. As many fans can name moments that fit both categories. The biggest charm to the series as a whole is how it pulls off great protagonists and a story where the pacing is handled amazingly. Look at many other great shonen protagonists. We know from the start that Naruto wants to be Hokage. We know from the start that Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates. Look at Zatch and how he contrasts this. He's an amnesiac little boy that we know isn't human due to many characteristics of his, and focuses on helping Kiyo grow as a person and as a friend. It isn't a little later, that we learn about what he is and the kinds of stakes that are at play, with many other Mamado children and what this grand battle will lead to: being Mamado King. Zatch's dream of becoming a kind Mamado King isn't fully implanted in him, until he and Kiyo are forced to burn Kolulu's book. She was forced into this battle for king against her will and this shows Kiyo & Zatch the kinds of cruel people who can become Mamado King. The entire manga does a stellar job of expanding on such a simple dream in beautiful ways, that the story never felt like a chore to sit down through and we felt Kiyo & Zatch's determination to achieve this. Still my favorite Shonen manga ever made. And it warms my heart everyday to see more talk and love it.
As someone who is a huge fan of quirky characters bantering, Pokemon, and battle shonen Zatch Bell was like an atomic bomb on my mental Also it's the only manga I can think of that has made me consistently laugh (like not nose exhale I mean snorting tier laugh). Like it's SOOOOOO good at "dumb humor" Anyone who has read the manga will instantly get what I mean when I say that
Rarely brought up in discussions THAT I'M NOT A PART OF - basically one of my favorite mangas. Other shounen WISH they had battles that played out the same way as they do in Zatch Bell. Has totally believably character development, too. Kiyomaro's slow burn takes hundreds of chapters. He maintains as lot of his sharp edges and is pretty nasty even as he softens up. Gash was changed because it's a naughty word in some countries, though probably also bloody-sounding too. Faudo is an all-star of an arc, holy shit. So many good characters, including two of my god-tier favorites - Cherish(first in the battle to EVER hurt Zeon) and Momon(literally so OP he can manhandle Godufa-empowered Rodeaux and Co.) Millennium Demon Arc has the 11/10 fight that is Brago/Zofis, though AND Pamoon AND Belugimu EO(better in the anime, actually!). That said the final battle between Zatch and Brago was a huuuuuuge disappointment. One chapter with a ton of cuts when we already know there's 0% chance for Shin Baberuga Gravidon to beat Baou Zakeruga. I COULD JUST NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT THIS SERIES FOR REALSIES
Yea. The final Momodo fight was more about Brago and Sherry finding their closure after their character arcs wrapped up. Also Brago just having a bigger version of his other gravitational move was pretty much a clear sign that the writing was on the wall. My headcannon is that perhaps Brago if Sherry somehow pushed herself would have discovered one more powerful spell that could have stood a better chance against Baou. But yea. Also Sherry’s last name being Belmont is just automatically badass. Kind of unapologetically a reference to Castlevania I’d say, given her look and attire too.
I hard disagree about the final battle with Brago being a disappointment. Like we had just seen Zatch, by all intents and purposes, earn his title as King by finishing Clear with the help of the fallen mamono. Shin Beruwan Baou Zakerga is HIS spell. He loses access to it without the golden book, but that's the Bell family's Bao. Brago winning in a satisfying way was never going to happen after that, so trying to make the fight something grand, as if to match the scale of what had just concluded only would have failed. Making the focus of the fight each characters' emotional throughline made it way more powerful. We already know that both sides would give their all and push themselves to their absolute limits. So just giving glimpses of the fight while both pairs are silently dealing with the knowledge that no matter who wins, they each will lose something was the best way to keep it interesting. It's not meant to be epic so much as it's meant to be bittersweet. Like "yay, Zatch v Brago, one last time! SHIT, Zatch v anyone for the last time. It's done after this." Hell its Brago of all characters to first accept his loss, just to ensure that he has enough time to thank Sherry for how hard she fought for him. You can tell that she was ready to keep going until her body gave out. But he's content with this. It went from his "you'd better make me king," to her "I WILL make you king," and then ends with "Thank you for getting me to the end." All that, and BRAGO is the one that gives in, just so he can have one last moment of peace with his partner.
Dude, we didn't actually know Shin Baberuga Gurabidon won't beat Baou Zakeruga. That gravity spell had the potential to defeat Baou at least. Shin Beruwan Baou would win 100% but not normal Baou had the chances to lose.
@@samyakchhajed Sure we did. It's a Shounen and regardless of the twists up to that point Zatch was always gonna win it - it was obvious that anything in Brago's book was simply not up to snuff - even Sherry asks if they've still got the power of the Golden Book because she considers their chance to win 0% if they do. With that aside, Baou is a Tactnuke given to Dauwan by a nearly godlike being and passed down to Zatch, making it even more unfair in his favor. Kiyomaro ALSO uses the Answer Talker in that fight, further cooking the books(though he even mentions despite it they're able to put on an offensive so strong he's just barely able to counter.) I just wanted a couple more chapters, maybe showing Brago putting Zatch very hard on the defensive/ekeing out a truly dominating position before Kiyomaro claws his way back. Just something a little meatier than the rapidfire pacing that comes with a single chapter battle with a forgone conclusion. That's all. It can be cool and still disappoint me lengthwise.
Zatch Bell was awesome! It had one of the catchiest openings that STILL lives rent free in my head, and I could hear it the moment I saw the thumbnail for this video. It's genuinely way better than one might expect just from looking at it or hearing it talked about. Definitely glad to see it getting some of the love it deserves! Also, on the note of the show's opening, there is ONE thing it contributes to the manga, and that's DUMBASS MUSICAL NUMBERS! *Very Melon* comes to mind, as well as Folgore's song about boobs
Everyone always talks about how much they want a Brotherhood style remake for Soul Eater or Tokyo Ghoul, but I really want one for Zatch Bell. But if it finally happens they need to get Ikue Ohtani to voice Zatch again.
Agreed! Get back most of the sub & dub voice actors/actresses, and give it the proper ending, along with following the story closer to the manga. I need Kiyo & Zatch VS. Dufort & Zeno redone & animated closer to the manga, along with Kanchome's goodbye to Folgore.
I feel like there are a whole host of these manga that just vanished for some reason some that i can name from this era: Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Gamaran, The Law of Ueki, etc. I loved Zatch bell. Love the vod!
@@s3studios597 omg air gear too, like that and like code breaker, beelzebub. cage of eden, yureka, and this more obscure one i loved called ID: the greatest fusion fantasy! That whole era had some fire stuff
I remember watching Zatch Bell three different times with my dad, we watched it subbed then dubbed then subbed again. It and the memories made because of it will forever be dear to me. ❤
I just want the Inheritance and Curse of the Rainbow arcs to get the TYBW treatment, allow the creator who got rushed to add, or fix, the material they want and show it the love n respect it deserves, however much or little. Hopefully the former
I watched the Zatch Bell anime back when it aired on cartoon network, i don't know what made me remember the series last year, but i was like "i'll read some of the manga, just cause", and man was i blown away by how good it was
When I tell you Zatch Bell was and still is MY GOAT, it's one of my favorite series with some of my favorite art and one of my favorite characters Zeon(or Zeno in english). I love it with all my heart and it's sequel has done nothing but improve on what has become before. Any creator talking about it is always a pleasure.
Zatch Bell 2 is pretty damn good so far. The OG manga was so underrated. Glad to see you give it some love! Edit: And Umagon in top 3 characters? You are truly a man of culture my friend
Yes but the release is rather long. However every chapter is real good. A lot of thought went into it. You get to see the character you saw in ZB1 in a new light. The art style is still consistent, recommend to re read the series again because the latest chapter has a character that in my opinion shines real good if you are familiar with that character.
Man... seeing the thumbnail unlocked so many old memories. I had to click on it and see what the video is about. I really need to read the manga at some point. I had only ever watched the anime back when I was kid and later on watched the rest of it in Japanese since the whole anime never got fully released over here. And knowing there's a sequel series to it, I really got to read the manga now. Also, loved the little animation at the start and the old school 3D model XD Got yourself a new sub!
One of my favorite manga moments is when kiyamaru wakes up from his nesr death experience and just spams zakaru for like 2 pages with his oni demon face
I watched it as a kid on tv. Zatch Bell and InuYasha were my bread and butter, I'd always ask people and try to get 'em to check them out. When I got to HS I read Zatch Bell and then got into Animal Land. Also I need more D.Gray-man ( I know it comes out and is slow for a reason), I hope it gets to have it's end...
Man does this series take me back! I have heard people compare this to Pokémon and Yugioh because of the “dueling” aspect but to me Zatch Bell is basically a PG Fate/Stay Night.
The reason clear note doesnt show up earlier is because his partner, Vino was too young to speak. Remember, the events of the story take place over 1.5-2 years. He essentially had to wait until Vino could read spells aloud and then the two entered the fight.
I read the first three chapters of this manga and my first thought was “I have no clue what is going on!” And just stopped reading lol (those three chapters were good though)
An example of "I'm you, but instead of evil and better, I'm evil and worse" Is Albeito from Ben 10 Ultimate alien. A flip on the trope done well, especially for it being done in a CN cartoon.
disclaimer about d. gray-man: it's still ongoing. it's quarterly so don't expect chapters very often but upon binge reading, it just keeps getting better. The anime suffered from the staff doing shit against the mangaka's wishes so she got super cagey about continuing it (fair), but do check out the manga!
Your intro and animation is some of the best I’ve seen in awhile from review channels. I’m an artist and really appreciate the extra work to not just have different jpegs
"A product of its time." But in my mind it's a relatively new manga series. It's modern. Thanks for reminding me the sequel exits though, I was waiting for a big batch of new chapters to pick it back up.
I just watched a video by Matttt on the ‘most famous artist that disney tried to hide’. His name was Carl Barks, and he did the first Donald Duck comics for Disney and was considered an inspiration to many in the industry and even Japan as he inspired Tezuka. It baffles my mind companies mistreat artists in their own little ways. I bet the lawsuit will be mentioned here and I havent even started the video! Fun fact, my steam user name is still inspired by this manga! Zeno is one of my favorite foils to a main protagonist I have read. And it is actually kind of fascinating how Manga Zeno and Anime Zeno are very, very different. Anyway, I cant wait to watch! I am sure it will be a masterpiece! Edit: Since the inciting incident for you to make the video was the question ‘which manga was erased popular history.” I would also say Magi or Shaman King. But Zatch Bell was the first and definitely had the rockiest ‘public fall off’ especially since Shaman King is still at least getting more attention nowadays. Magi is more apt, but it is still nichely popular even though the anime is gone, mostly because it is Battle Shonen.
Been a hot minute since I watched a video, but the production here was fantastic. Zatch Bell definitely deserves more credit than it gets, and like a lot of others have said here, Zatch Bell 2 is phenomenal so far. Probably the best manga sequel publishing right now outside of JoJo.
What song starts at 5:42? Someone please alleviate my pain. It’s probably a game menu or loading screen but for the life of me can’t remember which game it was.
I believe the reason we don't hear much about this series anymore is that, in the past, the manga creator Makoto Raiku was involved in a lawsuit with Shogakukan, the company that held the distribution rights for "Zatch Bell." This legal battle resulted in incomplete localizations and halted many aspects of the series. Eventually, the creator gained full rights to his work and began publishing it independently. It's unfortunate that this lawsuit limited the series' expansion around the world.
I was thinking, wasn't there some massive copyright or something issue with the manga that made it really hard to find? I haven't looked into this for years, so I'm not up to date.
I watch anime since 1998. I have a MASSIVE manga collection. I breath anime and I never… NEVER heard of this 😅 And why its forgotton? Maby because you just talking about it screamed „THE SAME AGAIN“ and the main char is ugly as heck 😂 Nice video 👏
Anime pacing is because it caught up with the manga, which was released monthly. It had to deviate once the author broke their hand and put the series on hiatus.
One particular points I like about Gash Bell is how it handle flash back. At that time (early 2000's) most battle shounen manga put a whole chapter (sometimes 2 or even 3 chapters) to show flash back in the middle of a battle. It always frustrated me how they kill the momentum of the battle for flash back. But in Gash Bell, most of the flash back shown trough the battle; like page 1-2 the characters trade punches, page 3 part of the memories of the character shown to the reader, and the next pages they use their skills, and then the next page another part of their memories shown again. It's not only keep the momentum, but also add more feels to the battle.
One thing of note is that Birgdin Board, the company Raiku Makoto started to publish his stuff, finally opened up with licensing opportunities for Zatch Bell in April of 2024, which means the chances of a reboot happening at some point are no longer 0.
Broooooo I totally forgot about this manga!! Dude I bought some Zatch Bell trading cards when I was little and they came with their own “book” so you could carry around your own book with cards. Looking back I’m surprised my parents let me buy it carrying around a demon book lmao
OMG YES! To anyone that gave up on this, the manga took an entire different turn than the anime and now there's even a sequel!!! This is definitely one of the best shounen's I've read
If you liked Zatch, you should try Animal Land. It still has all the heart and humor of Zatch Bell, but instead of magic kids fighting each other to be king, it's telepathic kids and animals trying find a realistic solution to the horrors of the food chain.
I don't know if you've ever read it, but the manga Investor Z is a pretty good. It talks a lot about investing both your money and your life smartly. It also gives a unique history lesson of Japan's growth as a country. The main character is invited to join a secret investors club funding the school. I've only read 50 or so chapters, but I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get into investing or any child in school who had the time and pocket money to try investing even a small amount.
Zatch Bell... I haven't heard that name in a long time, but I never forgot this series. I love this series and a shame the English release stopped at volume 27. I miss this series and I need to check out Zatch Bell 2.
There is this show called Hero Inside from Korea that is about a bunch of magical comic books created by a mysterious illustrator named Scott, and the comics let you summon the superhero in them and use them for whatever reason. Lots of cool fights and the character designs are goofy and unique. It reminded me a lot of Zatch Bell.
Alright, kiddos, I got one for yall. I literally had one heck of time tracking it down. During the early 2000s cartoon network. Early CN started airing more anime on the channel. Witch led to the bakugan Era aswell as the death and rebirth of toonami. During this time, one show, that vividly remeber the first episode. Where a kid finds a talking ball on a chain. After searching? I found it so you don't have to, who remembers a show called MÄR ?
Zatch Bell is forever be in my top anime because its inspired one of my own stories. I grew up with Zatch Bell and now I"m 36. I could never forget this series
Read the manga years ago. Had no idea there was a sequel series running now. Guess that meeting again someday finally happened. Will have to check it out.
Good video, but: Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin is one of my fav Soulslikes. Better than 1 and still beautiful. Still has downsides ofc, but those are minor. No pressure, but def recommend giving it another go.
Zatch Bell was one of the stories that got me into manga when I was a kid. It has such a special place in my heart. I LOVE that it has a sequel series now.
I will never forget zatch bell for being one of my first forays into anime. I never saw it fully, but the art style and difference compared to the other media I saw at the time really shaped me as a child.
It never disappeared like others have said zatch bell 2 Manga is currently being published in Japan. The reason for its decline in popularity, particularly in the west, is that it was released here around the same time as many other popular Shonen animes that eclipsed it. Naruto, bleach, one piece, fma, etc. If zatch bell were released today it would be more popular. Also another difference I want to add is that Japanese people typically tend to move on to the new thing once a manga/anime ends. Whereas westerners, Americans in particular cling on to the same things for years. Which is why there are many Mangas that sold very well in Japan in the past but are rarely talked about now. It is also why vintage video game collecting wasn't really a thing in Japan.
In addition, it's muddled the rights for the manga and anime in America (but maybe not EU/SA?)
Raiku made his own publisher for ZB2. They're taking in offers for new licensing deals, so I hope we get an anime remake that treats the whole series popular, gives it worldwide reach, and eventually animates 2!
This, a series of unfortunate events made zatch bell sink into obscurity because makoto has the rights and for now wants to do zatch 2
I just want good quality ZB1 manga scans
@@martin0499 the funny thing is, he did re-release ZB1 with a new segment at the end called "zatch bell cafe" so give it a time for them to reupload the chapters
@@martin0499 I bought the manga from Japan, the kazenban version isn't that expensive and it's quite beautiful. Luckily we are getting a new release on Spanish, but they release like 2 volumes per year.

In a concept art for Aoyama from Mha, Horikoshi put a note on it mentioning Folgore.

Just a note on the anime.
So that is why you don't see it on major anime streaming sites
There's little info about that since it was so long ago but there is so much more than it seems with that anime ending.
Wow, I had no idea the zatch voice actor changed in the last few episodes. Haven't seen the later parts of the show in over a decade.

Maybe that's why he changed the art style too in part 2 but tbh I am not a fan of the new art style but I wanna love it cuz i love the series so much
@@YMatt2029 I don’t think it’s changed much since Part 1.

I love something that is super popular yet obscure at the same time
It's like Touhou, but waaaay more obscure
Then read bug ego as well!
Like Dark Souls before Elden Ring came out.
You see it and just go "YES!"
"See you tomorrow" and being proud to carry a friend on your back.
I remember recommending it to you years ago, you finally got to it 😭

I always thought Clear Note took so much time to make his move was because he was stuck with Vino for a partner who wasnt even a year old by the start of the series iirc.
Also he became a bigger threat when he forced Gorm to work with him which was most likely after the Faudo arc
I thought it was because he was held to a stalemate with the stronger dragon brother the entire time.
Zatch and law of ueki have a special mid 2000s nostalgia for me. Both are so fundamentally kind. It’s how iruma makes me feel now
The potential this manga had a severely understated. I’m super glad I got to enjoy this era and be a huge fan of this series.
Bro I loved it so much I even got into the damn TCG. You had your own spell book and you had to fill it up with different cards. Doing damage forces your opponent to turn that many pages and once they run out their book is “destroyed”
Yes! Another Zatch Bell TCG player! My favorite spellbook is built was Zeno/Ponygon. The burn output is disgusting.
Never got to actually play it, but i can truthfully say, thats what got me into collecting cards thoroughly and actually take care and sleeve/binder them, after i dropped Pokemon in Gen 2/3. It was a great concept cause your book was also your deckbox.
Konjiki No Gash Bell is the actual Japanese name, Zatch was a dub thing
Also isn't gash an important name for the finale?
I recall Zatch Bell managed to turn a recurring gag into a brutal heart wrenching moment.
Kido: Dr. Riddles will be okay! He's invincible!
Dr. Riddles: I was........Lying.
Kido saying Dr. Riddles will always be his king pulled on my heartstrings.

As someone who is a huge fan of quirky characters bantering, Pokemon, and battle shonen Zatch Bell was like an atomic bomb on my mental
Also it's the only manga I can think of that has made me consistently laugh (like not nose exhale I mean snorting tier laugh). Like it's SOOOOOO good at "dumb humor"
Anyone who has read the manga will instantly get what I mean when I say that
True, is such a naive and dumb humor but is the type that anyone can enjoy, I laughed so much reading zatch bell.
You thought I would forget one of the shonens that formed my childhood?
Rarely brought up in discussions THAT I'M NOT A PART OF - basically one of my favorite mangas. Other shounen WISH they had battles that played out the same way as they do in Zatch Bell. Has totally believably character development, too. Kiyomaro's slow burn takes hundreds of chapters. He maintains as lot of his sharp edges and is pretty nasty even as he softens up.
Gash was changed because it's a naughty word in some countries, though probably also bloody-sounding too.
Faudo is an all-star of an arc, holy shit. So many good characters, including two of my god-tier favorites - Cherish(first in the battle to EVER hurt Zeon) and Momon(literally so OP he can manhandle Godufa-empowered Rodeaux and Co.)
Millennium Demon Arc has the 11/10 fight that is Brago/Zofis, though AND Pamoon AND Belugimu EO(better in the anime, actually!).
It's done after this."
Hell its Brago of all characters to first accept his loss, just to ensure that he has enough time to thank Sherry for how hard she fought for him.
@@charcoal200Yeah, it was an incredible moment!!
Kiyomaro ALSO uses the Answer Talker in that fight, further cooking the books(though he even mentions despite it they're able to put on an offensive so strong he's just barely able to counter.)
I just wanted a couple more chapters, maybe showing Brago putting Zatch very hard on the defensive/ekeing out a truly dominating position before Kiyomaro claws his way back. Just something a little meatier than the rapidfire pacing that comes with a single chapter battle with a forgone conclusion. That's all. It can be cool and still disappoint me lengthwise.

The reason clear note doesnt show up earlier is because his partner, Vino was too young to speak. Remember, the events of the story take place over 1.5-2 years. He essentially had to wait until Vino could read spells aloud and then the two entered the fight.

I breath anime and I never… NEVER heard of this 😅

I just read Zatch Bell recently having watched some of the anime when I was a kid, it's such a fun read and I can see why it was big in Japan
Zatch bell 2 is so good and needs more attention!

I remember getting so hyped for the Zatch Bell card game!! You actually used a mini card book and flipping thru the pages was a mechanic
It's nice to see a video on Zachbell! That was my shiyt
As for the creator of this video? Go youtube it, even by name ? It's has almost no videos on the subject. Next video idea maybe ? Well see.
Oh one more thing, can we talk about how long it took to get another season of blue exorcist?
yer choice in music through out this was impeccable. the touhou music especially
6:12 So, in One Piece there's the group of pirates that is imitating the Luffy Pirates. Something like that??
Zatch Bell is forever be in my top anime because its inspired one of my own stories. I grew up with Zatch Bell and now I"m 36. I could never forget this series
Read the manga years ago. Had no idea there was a sequel series running now. Guess that meeting again someday finally happened. Will have to check it out.
The manga is so good, the faudo and last arc were crazy
Good video, but: Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin is one of my fav Soulslikes. Better than 1 and still beautiful. Still has downsides ofc, but those are minor. No pressure, but def recommend giving it another go.
Zatch Bell was one of the stories that got me into manga when I was a kid. It has such a special place in my heart. I LOVE that it has a sequel series now.
Why did you use the Charlottesville vehicle attack footage in this video? Seems like a very specific piece of footage to use accidentally.
