This song being slowed and reverbed in particularly really benefits from it - The slower pace adds to the tragedian elements, the singer sounds a lot more darker minded, a bit demonic at times and at times sounds like a male's voice, I think all of these add to how one could look at this boss. It helps that the original provided such a great basis, of course.
