@@honestpat7789 I mean both sides are bad tbf. Howard destroyed the housing market from to hell and back, turning it into a speculative market. Mainly, its state governments backwards caving to NIMBY's that restricted medium density housing within 15km of sydney's cbd for example that ballooned housing prices to insane levels. Australia taxes its mineral exports FAR lower than our OECD counterparts, obviously the liberals were the ones responsible for that. Labour implemented its own private market with public cash in the form of the NDIS, it being a failure. Many many things that both parties did that were insanely stupid (labour also doesnt deregulate local councils and their effects on NIMBY people). theres going to be no fix to the cost of living crisis in our major cities.

Consider the IQ bell curve distribution. Most people remain loyal to a single party over their lives. This is common knowledge in polling circles. A midwit will consume their preferred media that only validates their opinion; there’s an excuse for every blunder. Very little of the population has the right combination of personality and/or life circumstance that characterise them as swing voters. Having said that, there are several, very popular, young social media personalities all sounding the alarm on how broken our politics are, and how no one under 25 will ever own a house because of it.

It's been the same with Labour in the UK for years with immigration, it began with the stated concept that mass migration was anti right wing. That policy has obviously been used here by Labor for the same political purposes. So we can see that Labor's priority is staying in power which does not require average Aussie support, let's hope that we are smart enough collectively to wake up and reject that concept.

They are working towards a situation where you can "port your plan" a bit like mobile phones. ABCNews had a story last week on Time of Use Metering that showed 3pm-1am was peak tarrif time. Can't see a time when any Govt doesn't keep issuing nearly $1,000 a year to households as Energy Credits. Though as friends have shown me, spending $3k or so putting solar panels on roof gives $100pm in credit. It may be something superannuation funds might be able to enable. In WA some towns have Community Grids creating own power off grid. Can only hope national investments come soon and takes out these Energy cartels.

It's beginning to appear to me that labor will do anything to kill any threat to their all renewables policy why else would they refuse to reduce taxes on petrol and allow gas to flow in the economy ? It's to prove a point that all fossil fuel based energy is bad and only renewables can deliver cheap power. The argument with Asian neighbours can be negotiated by telling them that Australia will lift gas moratorium and increase the supply of gas to provide sufficient gas to Australians and Asia at levels that will also simultaneously reduce overall gas prices due to sufficient supply. It is not in labor's interest to reduce the cost of fossil fuel based energy and they are too dense to realise that all renewables will ultimately cost them the election
