It's to prove a point that all fossil fuel based energy is bad and only renewables can deliver cheap power. The argument with Asian neighbours can be negotiated by telling them that Australia will lift gas moratorium and increase the supply of gas to provide sufficient gas to Australians and Asia at levels that will also simultaneously reduce overall gas prices due to sufficient supply.
