Haha like most of these comments, it’s awesome to see different albums put in different spots across everyone’s lists haha. But none the less, awesome ranking my dude - although I do feel like you should give the X factor another chance 😂 it’s honestly so amazing in my opinion haha. Haha I ranked the debut at number one just due to personal reasons haha I love that album so much

Thanks for the acknowledgment.. I appreciate it and said to myself if you respond to my post I'll explain some things. Back in the 80's when I heard Killers and self titled I thought they were great. Heard them a few times but that was about it.. Then I listened to them again about a fortnight ago after not having heard them since perhaps the late 80's and thought they were dreadful to say the least. Both albums have aged badly. I thought number of the best and Piece of mind were partially interesting at the time. The first half of Piece of mind is interesting.. The rest falls flat. Ok.. So.. Up until about 18 months ago I did not like Seventh son album at all and it was my least favourite.. Having not heard it since the early 90's. Didn't understand it.. Didn't get it.. When it was released. Was more interested in South of heaven at the time and And justice which I always tried to like But never have enjoyed. I think on my list Dance of death would be further up actually. In regard of that.. About 6 months ago I Re visited Fear of the dark having not heard it since the mid 90's as I was too focused with GNR.. And I did not like Fear of the dark at all.. I thought it was a dreary album.. Then recently I had a proper listen to it and realized it's a good album and that I do like.. Have to be in the mood for it though. About Virtual x and X factor.. Always liked those albums.. However in saying that.. Blaze Bailey had no stage presence at all and is not good live from clips I have seen.

While my list is obviously different, I do respect your picks, we all have different taste but the love for the band is always there! As a newer fan you should absolutely go and see them on their 2022 tour, Iron Maiden will always be the best metal band to see live and nothing will change my mind! Up the irons! Qustion: have you listened to any Judas Priest? Would be cool to see an album ranking of them. (JP and Iron Maiden can both be my favorite classic metal band on any given day)
Thanks! I’m definitely gonna try to get out to an Iron Maiden concert! Also, I haven’t heard too much Judas Priest, but them, along with Dio and Black Sabbath are the first on my list for this summer (last summer I got all of Metallica, Maiden, and Ozzy). Unfortunately, I don’t have much time to actively listen to bands with huge libraries like those right now since I’m in college, but I may still get to some bands with smaller libraries in the meantime, I’m almost done with my binge of A7X currently
My rankings! 1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 2. Powerslave 3. Senjutsu 4. Piece of Mind 5. A Matter of Life and Death 6. Somewhere in Time 7. The Number of the Beast 8. Brave New World 9. It's amazing seeing how the list changes from old school maiden fans to to the newbies. Unfortunately I can't watch any more maiden review videos from fans who just became fans yesterday. The list of new fans almost is blasphemy. Just my useless opinion
@@ZBilbs You are too nice my friend, and it's not a fair point. 17) Virtual XI, 16) The X Factor, 15) The Final Frontier, 14) The Book Of Souls, 13) No Prayer For The Dying, 12) Senjutsu, 11) Dance Of Death, 10) A Matter Of Life And Death, 9) Fear Of The Dark, 8) Iron Maiden, 7) Brave New World, 6) Killers, 5) The Number Of The Beast, 4) Powerslave, 3) Piece Of Mind, 2) Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, 1) Somewhere In Time
For me live Maiden blows all the studio albums away. Live after death, Maiden England and Rock in Rio are the pinnacle of there existence. Such a shame they didn't do an equivalent Somewhere in time one:/ other than that, The final frontier is very underrated, wasted years is generic cheese but with a cool riff and Senjutsu I'm really struggling will. It's but so slow, repetitive and mostly dull. Amazing though for a band to last this long..certainly earned their stripes..one of the goat. Ps, Bruce's solo output in the 90's destroys Maiden. I'd put chemical wedding up there with the Maiden greats!
Nice ranking , this is mine 1. Seventh son of a seventh son 2. Somewhere in time 3. Number of the beast 4. Powerslave 5. Dance of death 6. Senjutsu 7. Killers 8. Piece of mind 9. Iron Maiden 10. Fear of the dark 11. No prayer for the dying 12. The final frontier 13. The book of souls 14. Brave new world 15. A matter of life and death 16. Virtual XI 17. The X Factor Senjutsu might even go higher as time goes on, the Parchment is already a top 15 favorite maiden song for me, best song off this album. 2nd best being the title track, that songs amazing too. Only song I don’t care for on senjutsu is darkest hour , all the other ones are great
My List: 1. Somewhere in Time 2. Number of the Beast 3. Peace of Mind 4. Killers 5. Seventh Son of Seventh Son 6. Powerslave 7. Iron Maiden 8. Senjutsu 9. Fear of the Dark 10. The Book of Souls 11. Paul Di'Maggio!!! 😅😆😅 I agree with No Prayer For sure. Hooks In You is an atrocity. Our lists differ from there but then again I've been listening to Maiden for 40 years. Cool list. Check out my list. Up The Irons!!! Our #1 exactly the same. Senjutsu? Probably 12 or 13. The Blaze stuff doesn't do anything for me at all.

No1 Beast. You may be new kid but you've got taste. As, for the, new, album I agree with almost everything you said about it. It is for me the best post eighties album by far. The Parchment though is brilliant and my personal favourite out of sone really great tracks on the album. I wouldn't rank it over any of the classic 89s albums but there is a nostalgia thing for me admittedly. Yes it's a fantastic album.
Favorite album: Killers Favorite album with Bruce: Piece Of Mind Least favorite: Virtual XI Most important album in their career, but also the most overrated: Number Of The Beast Most underrated: Fear Of The Dark
What are you kidding me? Look, "Somewhere in Time", is gradually making its way up the rankings of the mean best album charts. In about 20 years, there will be no question that is the greatest album, Not just 4 Maiden, but in heavy-metal history. Comparing these albums, it's not even close, there is not a weak songa on somewhere in time, and it is not even debatable, that the chord structures are the most complex in the maiden catalogue on this album. You cannot rank the last 2 albums above the 1st 7, too many weaker songs. Number of the beast, has gangland and 22.arcaciaa Avenue on it.and you prefer ROTAM, to hallowed be thy name? Each to their own mate, but somewhere in time will definitely be seen as the greatest album in about 20 years, when all is said and done. Fear of the dark is such an overrated song and the album is average.back in the village is fantastic, as you have said, I think the top 3 are somewhere in time, then powerslave, then 7th son, etc Interesting opinion though, just shows you music is very subjective
Yoy didn't listen to 80 percent of songs/albums you are reviewing. My parrot can say more words than /solid/mediocre/ok/fine. Go back to your daily job. Thanks

if you die today will you go to heaven? Have you ever lied, stolen, hated, used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? According to God's law, you're guilty, your headed for hell, ignorance will not be an excuse... But wait, God loves you, he made a way out for you, God's son Jesus died paying for your sin. God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Please believe/repent,Love Y'all
Brave New World is overrated IMHO. I feel people got caught up in "Bruce is back!" and didn't listen to it with a subjective ear. Even you said it: "Moving on to number ten, now we're getting into the real heavy hitters..." then you say Brave New World is: "...it's not spectacular, it's not one of the best..." I don't mean to nit-pick. But it just proves my point that Brave New World is usually too high on people's list. Granted, it is your list, I respect that. But take a listen with a subjective ear. I think you might find it's not as unique as it looks to be.
Good point on your other comment on Virtual XI, but there are a few songs I still love on that album although I do agree it has its stinkers. As for Brave New World I maybe shouldn't have called it a "heavy hitter" since I do consider it a mid-tier album overall. You should check out Quest for Metal's Maiden albums ranked because I think he actually considers BNW his favorite, so we all have our odd opinions
@@ZBilbs the beauty of art is everyone's opinion. I remember when Brave New World came out. I lost my mind with Bruce's return. It was a great concert with Halfrod and Queensryche opening up.
The problem with Virtual XI is: The lackluster songwriting, lazy vocal melodies, repetitive musicianship... This album is as dated and stale as the cover art. You should re-listen to the Paul albums and then this one again. I think you'll hear that Paul and the band are so much better on the first two Maiden records than this mailed-in, hack album that is Virtual XI.

Interesting, because Adrihelped hiim write that stuff. Maybe they should contribute more and Steve less

The first 5 albums back in the 80's are all I really care about now. After that, things get boring pretty fast.

Favorite album: Killers
Favorite album with Bruce: Piece Of Mind
Least favorite: Virtual XI
Most important album in their career, but also the most overrated: Number Of The Beast
Most underrated: Fear Of The Dark
my number 1 is somwhere in time and ssoass
Fear of the dark is such an overrated song and the album is average.back in the village is fantastic, as you have said, I think the top 3 are somewhere in time, then powerslave, then 7th son, etc
Interesting opinion though, just shows you music is very subjective

Judas be my guide is the best song off of fear of the dark you gotta give it another listen
🙄
