An Ohio county sheriff seemingly instructed residents to write down the addresses of homeowners who have signs supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in their front yards, according to his social media post.
Portage County Sheriff Bruce D. Zuchowski shared a Facebook post on Sept. 13 concerning Harris' campaign and her border policies.
"When people ask me...What's gonna happen if the Flip - Flopping, Laughing Hyena Wins?? I say...write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards," Zuchowski wrote in the Facebook post. "Sooo...when the Illegal human "Locust" (which she supports!) Need places to live...We'll already have the addresses of their New families...who supported their arrival!"
Attached to the sheriff's social media post are screenshots of Fox News coverage from Aurora, Colorado, and Springfield, Ohio. Both Aurora and Springfield have garnered national attention after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, said that migrants were committing dangerous acts in the cities - including taking over apartment complexes and kidnapping and eating pets.

Update to this story: while the sheriff hasn't been fired, the Portage County Board of Elections has removed him from providing election security over these remarks. They'll be getting private security instead.
I think it sends a pretty strong message when a branch of local government openly states that they don't trust local law enforcement to do its job. In saner times, the sheriff would probably resign in disgrace over this.
He won't resign as he hasn't any dignity nor morals.
He needs to be charged and locked up in the interests of public safety.
So would Supreme Court Justices yet here we are with a corrupt majority of the Supreme Court.
I'm glad he's now famous.

When I was military, it was made VERY clear that government officials DO NOT under any circumstances use their government positions (such as an official facebook account post) to make statements of ANY KIND of political nature that isn't an official position of the government they serve.
Even elected officials like Sheriffs should not be doing this because you serve ALL the people of your constituency. It would be one thing to make a statement on behalf of your particular organization suggesting it would help EVERYONE if some other organization did X, Y, or Z.
But to make a statement like this makes it very clear that he is partisan, which will create a perception (probably justified) that he will be biased in how he does his job.
But to make threats like this goes well beyond, and into illegal territory. His state AG should file charges.

Given that sheriffs last name his family arrived in the US 1938-1945 when my father's family arrived fleeing Poland. Who took his family in? My father's family arrived with 4 daughters and my babu was pregnant with my father. He's a maybe 2nd generation immigrant. He needs to think about that.

Public photos can narrow down which state or city they live in. Most sports fans live in the state of their favorite team.

There is actually a legal precedent on our books that say it is not discrimination to refuse Police employment to someone because they're "too smart."
Most departments are happy with a High School diploma, "clean" record, and an average of 21 weeks of training.

Don't worry, this news is actually 3 days old, and on the day a video was posted about it, someone put a link in the comments section to that county's administerial webpage where people can log complaints about misconduct on the part of any county employees. Judging by the fact that the comment had 1.7K likes and about 500 replies, I would venture to say that a LOT of people filed complaints about that sheriff. When I filed my complaint I pointed out to them that doxing is an illegal act and doxing for the purposes of voter intimidation was also a federal crime, and that it would result in one count of each for every address on that list, and that they would be criminally liable as well for condoning their sheriff's illegal activities.

This is the reason why I do not have a decal on my car or a sign in my front yard. i live in a red zone. I am sure my car would get damaged in a store parking lot. The cops would probably look for a reason, or make one up, to pull my car over. I am an independent voter. I will vote blue down the ticket.
