Great video....I followed your video, hooked up the iphone, and everything works great. I'm routing Discord into RCP2 via the chat/usb1 channel....is there a way for the chat channel to hear the output from the iphone and talk to the person on the iphone as well?

I’m trying record a podcast with video. I have the rodecaster 1 not the 2. with TWO mics. If I connect my iPhone for video with the cable will both Mics simultaneously be the output for the video? so I don’t have to struggle to syncs the audio and video clips together in a software?

Yes. On the original rodecaster, you can output all inputs to your phone so it should be synced.

Yes. So on your Mac you would set your computer speakers to Rodecaster Main, which is what we call "System Audio." And then you would see the music playing on that USB 1 channel.

Okay question: so with this bud Bluetooth or even with the cable, and I was using my iPhone 13 as my soul video…will the quality of the audio be as nice when I rewatch that video, I’m trying to build my channel up with music production live or recorded jams…sorry if that doesn’t make sense, I’m learning, I got my music gear drum machine and synths and I am in this process where I need a mixer in this case I want this beautiful rodecaster 2 which does everything and more as I go, but I don’t have a separate camera, I only have my iPhone currently.

Hi Walter, I really like everything you explain here, and yes, I learned a thing or two from some of the things you say about the Rodecaster pro 2.
But I have also had this Rodecaster pro 2 for a while now, after my previous Rodecaster Pro 1, which I still enjoy using, and preferably together with my Rodecaster Pro 2, which is connected to my Rodecaster pro 1.
with my Apple I-mac PC, and yes, I also learned a few ding dongs in the meantime.
Look: Like me, you also have a Rodecaster Pro, and just like me, your Rodecaster Pro also has a Line-IN, and the Rodecaster Pro 2 no longer has a Line-IN.
I like to use the Line IN of my Rodecaster, for example, to connect it to the "Stereo Audio OUT" of my "Tascam DP-3280".
And in this "Tascam DP-3280" my E-Piano is connected, as well as the TV and some microphones that I really like to align in Stereo.
And now all inputs of my "Tascam DP-3280" are completely full.
    Now I have a problem.
I actually want to connect my TV and also my E-Piano together with a microphone to my Rodecaster Pro 2, but for the TV I need at least one Line-IN, and the Rodercaster Pro 2 no longer has this Line-IN and that is Shame.
Now I can probably hear you thinking out loud:
"Wait a minute: THE Rodecaster Pro 2 does have Line-IN, even 4 Line-In if it wants."
Yes, I thought that too before I bought the Rodecaster Pro 2 before I watched a lot of videos on UA-cam like yours to learn from, and there I learned that the 4 Microphone inputs of the Rodecaster Pro 2 can also be used as a Line IN
    if I select "Line-IN", that's what I did.
Guess what? For good stereo sound from my TV, I have to use two inputs in the Rodecaster Pro 2, for example inputs 3 and 4.
I cannot use input number 1 because it is for the host's Mic, and after that I only have 1 input left, namely 2.
I can still plug in one vocal Mic there, but no more E-Piano because an E-Piano also has two Stereo-OUTs and these cables therefore also have to be plugged into a Stereo IN, and my Rodecaster Pro 2 only has one input left, but I need two for my E-Piano, so there is one shortage.
I can also combine the inputs 1+2 into one stereo input that I can then operate via slider 1, slider 2 then no longer works, great, then I can certainly use slider 2 for something else?
No, that is not possible, because there is already a cable in input 2.
Then let me align Inputs 2+3 in stereo and operate them via one slider, in this case this will be slider 3, and I can no longer use slider 4 for anything other than, no, that is not possible because slider 4 is already there is a cable.
Let me then combine sliders 3+4 into one stereo IN, which I then have to operate via slider number 4, slider number 3 then no longer works, and using it is not possible because there is a cable in it.
So in this way I have sliders in the Rodecaster Pro 2 that I cannot use because they are used in combination with another slide and I cannot use the non-working sliders for anything else, and all inputs are occupied.
Wouldn't it be better to have the option to use each of these four inputs of the Rodecaster pro 2, one by one, as a Stereo-Line-IN?
So the TV, (in stereo), in input 2, my vocal microphone in input 3, my E-Piano (in stereo), in input 4, and in input number 1 my mic for the host.
    Wouldn't this be great?
    This is unfortunately a dream,
because this is not possible with the Rodecaster pro 2.
And I think that is very unfortunate.
Do you think RØDE couldn't make that? Because that would be much better if this Rodecaster Pro 2 could also be used by musicians with stereo music instruments.
However, if Rode cannot do this, which would greatly disappoint me, then RØDE can make me a new Rodecaster Pro which, just like my Tascam 3280, has 32 channels and 20 sliders, of which you can use 8 of these sliders as a mono input that you can transfer over two sliders can be operated and can be aligned and used in stereo in 2 channels each.
There are also 12 sliders that you can use per slide, in stereo, preferably all with effects, and preferably also Bluetooth for a wireless Bluetooth stereo connection for my phone for calling and for music, and all via Microphone Combi -In microphone inputs, and preferably also with one or two USB C ports for an IN+OUT Stereo + IN and OUT data connection to PC and internet.
Do you think RØDE could make this?
I wonder, but I will be very happy if it works.
And I'm sure, I'm not alone.

    • @waltjennette
      @waltjennette  Рік тому +1

I'm going to say the only strength is the amount of headroom you'll get. The one thing I hate on the RCP2 is that they removed the 3.5mm Jack. While you can still boost it pretty good on the bluetooth channel, you'll get even more gain going in with this 1/4 input. You may want to check the settings on the Bluetooth channel and boost your gain or change the EQ.

So there are DB's on the screen but they're small and hard to read. On your inputs, are the Pre-Fade or Post-Fade? Because you won't be able to save a multi track recording on your iPhone, then you'll need to get it all right within the RCP 2 before pushing that out. Also, make sure your output levels are high enough.

Hi, Is there a way to directly connect your iPhone to the RCP2 to be able to record your livestream call, or are you just relegated to using bluetooth connection to make that happen. I ask this because using Bluetooth connection, at times there can be vocal delays where it can miss the first 1 or 2 seconds of the person speaking on the phone each time they speak from time to time. I was thinking using a USB C to Lighting cable I think would prevent that and get a cleaner and better recording. Let me know what you can please if there is some kind of workaround on this. For those of us that desire to have livestream phone calls connecting to the RCP2 and have issues using Bluetooth with our iPhones connecting to the RCP2, I tried many different cables to hook up to the RCP2 to get direct connection (which to me would be far better than wireless connection). The SC15 cable you're using will NOT be able to do livestream phone calls. The solution? Just purchase a 1/4" Male to 3.5mm Male TRS Stereo Audio Cable on Amazon and it's only $5.99. I was even on the phone with RODE's tech support staff to let them know about this and they were very excited to hear this, because they didn't know and were looking for a solution, as many people have been requesting help with that. But make sure you ALSO have the Apple 3.5mm to Lightning adapter to connect to the 3.5mm male jack and insert the 1/4" jack to one of the 4 mic inputs and that's it, you're done. Hope this helps.
