that demon figure handing the appel to the mc is just like you almost guessed a god of death ,who wanted to cure his boredom by giving a human the death note and see how he'll use it , the exchange for a man using it is his afterlife , when he dies he will not be able to enter neither heaven or hell
Yes the graphism are the same in the anime, and please if you enjoy attack on titan i'm sure you'll enjoy watching this one, i'm pretty sure it would be more your vibe even thoo they are both in my top 3 . You got great patreon requests in therm of animes!
ps: it has a "detective/supernatural" feel to it, i don't want to spoil the plot even the one from the first episode.

i guess you can say is dark, just not in the sense most of us think when using that therm. And definetely is one of the few animes everyone can watch and enjoy.
Death note is a love romance about a guy called light who is in love with kira. Each episode he gives more of himself over to kira. None of his family and friends like kira and so light has to keep it a secret. Kira also has friends only they can see that look like monsters. Kira is also hiding from an obsessive guy called L and Light wants to kill L. The idea is as light gives more of himself over to kira his diary becomes his deathnote.
