I will never forget destiny. When I’m older it will always have a large place in my heart ❤️
Same here brother same here 👍🏽
Destiny 1 better than 2 I have 8976 hour's destiny 1
@@davidfield6223 cool
@@davidfield6223 same d1 is so better
Still the best game I've ever played and without question would go back in time a hundred times to play it all over again if i could.
You can play it again! Go back and do it, you won’t regret it, the game has trielt aged like fine wine.
@@Aksis_Archon_Prime9899 I'll definitely go back and play it again some day, but the original feeling and the grind back in the day just will never be there again.
It’s a good game for sure. But I think the OG Halo’s are still above it.
@@Brumal. nobody asked
@@shybinx_ nor did we ask for your response. What’s your point?
D1’s music definitely hinted at a world completely foreign to you. You knew the names of the planets, but they were mysterious, your boots being one of few to venture onto them.
D2 doesn’t really have that sense of mystery, save for moments in the pyramids. D2 also does better at answering questions than D1 tbf
We still have the Nine as a mistery
The awoken distributary is still a mystery too
D2 definitely still has mysteries but just because of how long we've been around and how much we've seen and explored, the mysteries are so much bigger.
Instead of the biggest mystery being something like "what are the vex doing on Venus?" It's now more like "there's a group of ethereal beings on the edge of our system that are able to act outside of both causality and paracausality. What's their deal?"
@@TheAtomoh Yes and no. There are some things that imply very heavily who/what they are. It's just not explicitly confirmed.
I’d argue D2 has a lot more mystery built into it’s world design than D1, you’re just more used to it by now
Cant even lie, the part where they do a public event w randoms took me back to the beta. The fact that people could just join in your fight against a boss was sick as hell
Im in the middle of playing D1 again and omg its so good. The music, the feel, the guns - everything. I played D1 when i was in year 6-7 when i was like 10-12 and when D2 come out i hadnt touched D1 again. It reminds me of being a kid. Destiny is like my old game in a way. Like some people have like the old n64 or snes or whatever idk but i know destiny was the first game i was addicted to.
The music of D1 fit the time of the game. Starting out on a big mysterious adventure. Now it fits the darkness
Destiny 1 sound design was a mesterpiece of this era, i m not only referring to videogames era, these soundscapes are a part of human history.
Who knew that some game that launched in 2014 has me still playing to this day. The years do go by
Indeed, time sure flys by🥹
7:40
Dude i really want that Warlock jacket with the crescent on the collar back
I don’t know if you saw but his warlock melee every time was also a knife like a hunter melee. Great vid!!
Destiny will always have a huge place in my heart. Grew up on Halo and Destiny, and I will always come back every now and then just to dink around
I remember watching the bit at 8:17 over and over again back when the video came out and I was freaking out about how good the movement of the tarp looked lmao
Then I saw the detail of the walls and interiors at 9:06 and the was really excited, and then I saw the shadows at 9:33 and 10:15 was blown away back in the day.
when the deep stone raid came out and first time hearing deep stone lullaby. oh boy boy. it threw me back to sitting in orbit in d1. everyone put music absolute highest and just sat quietly
The nostalgia is too real. Literally 2 seconds of music and that did it.
D1's music has two things going for it to me:
1. It gave a sense of cautious optimism, wonder and tranquility in an otherwise shattered world. It gave you that sense of hope through the smallest feats and lifted you up during your greatest triumphs. Most importantly, it fit the overly bleak undertone that the game presented as you progressed through the game, and each theme used aspects of the boss, enemy or environment (i.e., Aksis' theme using a lot of intense, discordant sounds and the sound of a hammer against steel, Oryx's theme being extremely foreboding and regal, Cosmodrome being very soft spoken and mysterious, etc.).
2. Nostalgia in more than one way: the epitome of early-mid 2010's video game nostalgia, and me wanting the old Destiny 1 art style to return (the Reach-esque style with weathered textures, pastel/faded colours and shadows, more realistic in a way). I swear, every time I play Destiny 1, I get reminded of staying up late with my mates playing various games: Halo, Destiny, Borderlands. Hell, even the likes of Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Mario Galaxy for old time's sake. None of those have anything remotely to do with Destiny, but I digress.
Oh, yeah. Another thing at random: I still play Destiny 1 just to go to the Tower and sit there for hours on end, soaking up the nostalgia, music and ability to teach newbies and veterans alike how to do various glitches around the Tower. Moreover, D1 Tower music has legitimately made me fall asleep just sitting there.
I played it when it first came out on PS3. Still gives me the best nostalgia ever. Those were the days
The music starts playing whole body gets chills. Such good music
Hearing Dinklebot again Is surreal as hell!! Also, Alpha squad here!! Seriously though, these old trailers ooze nostalgia. I remember being enraptured by this demo which is why I jumped on the alpha sign up as soon as it ended. Funny how much chances or didn't both up to launch and over the years. Would love more of this
I'm a Alpha player, and also played the Beta!! good times and was fun finding the hive underground just for them to stomp people
I think it's super funny that he paused it on the dreadnought while he finally noticed the solor nade on nova bomb, and the knife melee. I wish I could've played the game the trailer portrayed before Activision scraped everything. Uldren has the logo for season of the hunt in D2 on his chest, the duke mk 44 is the hand cannon, and we have never seen a viper p3 pulse or scout rifle, and it was a superior pulse rifle too.
I thought it was Bungie who scraped everything of the original story and then went into panic mode when they had to come up with a new one so close to release.
@@LordSaladbar1Because they didn't want Joe Staten's version of the story, so he left and they panicked and scrapped together the shoddy, open ended story we know and (somewhat) love lol
From being just freshly risen to wielding
Both the light and the darkness
Dude every time I hear the chorus singing the D1 melody, I can literally see myself sitting in front of my 2014 gaming setup. Those were the good times
Exo stranger was there in the cutscene in D1, but was removed in D2
The exo stranger was in the opening mission in d1
dude, i watched that trailer back in fourth grade and i've been hooked on it ever since. best two games ive ever played
When the solar nade looked like the thermite when throne
I remember when Joseph staten was part of bungie working on destiny, along with Martin O’Donnell
Loves the d1 music, i sit in both d2 and d1 obrit all the time listening to that shit
Music by Marty odonald or however you spell it for the first year or so of d1
God that orbit music still makes me tear up a bit, forget any activity or weapon or mission...the music is what makes the memories come flooding back.
two more years and we will have played Destiny for an entire decade
Gotta love how the warlock melees with a knife 11:10
I’ve never noticed after watching this several times over the years. on how fast they get their supers its unreal
Instant goosebumps every time I see and hear it, too! Over and over again. The magic they created back then was never reached again. So I keep coming back many times to feel the nostalgia. What a wonderful time back then in 2014!
God the music makes me feel some type of way. Hits different
never played D1 but have watched players play it was FANTASTIC
I remember playing the beta on the 360. Miss those days
The warlocks melee was a hunter knife too
I still love this game and always will. But there's big thing that stood out to me. That Kell died by a solar grenade but the warlock was always on void and we never saw him switch supers.
Nostalgias a helluva drug
Brings alot of memories back
that was a nice video sweat , really enjoyed this one
Can we all talk about how at 11:11 the WARLOCK melees with a knife? That shit must've been a massive oversight jesus christ
I love how the warlock throws a nova bomb then a solar grenade later
I've been playing since closed alpha this game will always be the best for me plus I have a ghost and hunter logo on my arm
when I was a new light I solo'd that opening public event faster than they did with 6 people.
When you realized solar nade with nova, the warlock also knifed a vandal
In the reveal trailer the warlock used a knife, with solar grenades on nova, and the titan hunter double jumped
this trailer to todays trailers bungie has really stepped up their game
I joined during House of Wolves, about a month before Taken King. Wish I was there at the very beginning!
I go back to the trailer from time to time and watch the video. I also follow the guy that’s talking in the first cutscene in destiny with the girl doing the tutorial on twitter ..
Is anyone gonna say anything about the hunter knife with worlock void super and solar grenade and no heavy AT ALL in the beginning
19:14 same pose and you can see the season of the hunt logo
16:49 magazine is putting itself in LMAO
2:07 they forshadowed felwinters on the Titans back👀
Getting goosebumps for a time I never new
The voice in the gameplay reveal is Joe Staten, the original writer for halo and destiny who left before d1 came out.
The Exo Stranger did, in fact, appear in the first mission of the game in D1's full release. I never understood her importance to the story, though. Not until Bungie brought her back in Beyond Light. Never would have thought she'd be as important as she is.
That scout rifle model shooting like a pulse could be what they eventually used for bad juju! Also THE NOSTALGIA IS TOO MUCH!!!!!
Dude when the Destiny 1 Beta dropped, my buddy and I played it for 30 hours straight it was so fucking amazing. We literally only got off to go to the bathroom or grab food and bring it back to eat on loading screens. It was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had, up there with the MW2 golden days
That gun ui and ghost humor is 10x better than it is now.
D1 music instilled that sense of wonder. I loved it.
lol tere was a Skyburner's Leak way back in the e3 trailer
"The exotic machine gun, thunderlord"
did anyone else see that the nova bomb was an ability with a 3-4 sec cool down
That warlock has solar nades and nova bomb jsjs
DINKLE BOT. But yeah I agree with the orbit music thing. We all would just chill there listening to it. Man the artsyle of the armour as well. You can look cool af in d2 and a lot of it is good but it kinda feels like decorations and less actual armour which is like how d1 was. I felt like I was wearing actual gear
I completely forgot there was even a destiny game theory too until it showed up as one of the recommended videos
4:34 stranger was there in the original game
marty o'donnell's music is timeless
Goosebumps in the first 10 seconds
Sweat should watch the original destiny game theory. It’s cool to see the amount of speculation there was when everything was just grimoire cards.
The D1 music is one of the most nostalgic things I've ever experienced.
We gotta go back to the old tower.
You also missed that the warlock melee'd with a knife
Paul Macartny made Hope For The Future for destiny and it was later added in to the empty tank lost sector in year 2 of destiny 2
Fun fact that intro in the E3 trailer is the new intro in D2
Solar grenades with the voidwalker super is strange
16:10 look at the titans jump
Good times we all had back then, especially in Taken King
I never saw that trailer but it still hypes me up more than what's going on with destiny 2
Solar grenade on a void warlock with a knife melee at 11:10 in the video
My biggest wish for Lightfall is for them to go back to D1 Year 1's leveling system but slightly improved, I think it was such a fun way to level up and I'd much rather it than the current one, tho that could just be fatigue speaking
If they wanted more ghost lines they could just hire a couple of really good impersonators plus they already have Nolan north and dee Bradley Baker does variks and they are both extremely talented
i wish they would remaster destiny 1i spent ages upon ages in that game, great memories!
Ngl at 17:52 when the excerpt from the union started to play. Mmmmmmm
was it only me that noticed the warlock's melee was a knife?
Dude the gameplay video portrayed how guardians act in lore 😂
looks like a wicked game I should check it out
That second one was wild
If u noticed the main guy we watch is a warlock that can melee like a hunter, nova bomb, and has a solar grenade with infinite heavy and a scout that is actually a pulse with double primary. Imagine if this is how d1 actually was kinda nuts
D1Y1 music was outstanding! Marty knows his stuff
when we saw uldren i saw someone in the chat say puberty hit hard with how he had the different voice. shit made me choke on my drink
D1 soundtrack is still one of the best ever made IMO, wish the original composer (Martin O'Donnel) was still working with bungie, Music of the Spheres (d1 original ost) is breathtakingly amazing and has a feeling of space wonder that I miss with a lot of d2 more aggressive compositions
The reacting Andy gets a like from me :)
Destiny 1 had a mysterious and post apocalyptic beginning on what was going on.
Destiny 2 had the entertaining and funny trailers which got me into Destiny as a whole.
@Big Floppa more than a little imo but yeah they are slowly improving
WAIT....... I just Noticed at 11:10 mark the warlock melees with a Knife. WHUT
The D1 music and all sound effects were all so much better. Even a lot of the graphics and animations were much better.
Sweat, can you watch and react to the 1 year anniversary of d1? It's a really great vid
I love thunderlord still my fav exotic too bad it hasent been useful for years
