Here's a tip for you. If you resample your pattern to a pad and set it to loop you can go to the import and listen to your breaks and drums over the loop while it plays

a little nostalgia here back to your Le Mellotron set with the 404sx! Always felt this sampler's magic was in how it's limitations really pushed you to be extra creative, to see it evolve like this is always a good thing
remember that Ras G set in that apartment, that motivated me to get a 404og and 202 back in the day. . that whole scene. damn, I miss hanging out on sp-forums..and the OG Stones Throw beat battles.

Back in 90’s my first set up was a 202 and turntable(not a good one) lol, and my “soundpacks” were weekly trips to thrift store for piles of crusty vinyl, but to track it back then i always would play it live into 4track or digi recorder eventually, and to this day i have yet to ever recreate or catch that “vibe” since, sound quality wise wasnt best lol, but the limitation of having to “perform” the layout of song live in realtime, you would just feel those chops in your finger tips fluidly n rock that bitch lol, it was magical, and most like “musician” ive ever felt making hiphop, just cant be recreated with daw, but unfortunately im broke and cant afford multiple set ups, so daw it is for economic reasons, but i plan to add one of this new model to rig once some success blooms and i can re invest, great vid displaying it thanks

Love this. Got my mk2 recently after destroying my maschine by accidentally spilling beer all over it. Not even mad anymore because it prompted me to try hardware away from the computer.

Im a complete noob when it comes to sampler/building beats etc. But i wanted to make music for a long long time and since i dont feel like learning a normal instrument i just bought a keystep 37; a moog mavis and this lil so 404 fella. Soaking up content in the last few days and this is really helpfull!!

i just jumped into mine last week. haven't used an sp since the sp202. Aside from live triggering and chopping i was so lost going in with no idea on it. by the third sitting i had a good connection with it.
