best way to check for metal cut a large piece of the filter material out put in vise squeeze all the oil out get it out of the vise pull it open look for metal, I was a lube technician on surface mine for 13 years , thats how we we're learnt to do it.
The wix xp filter is actually a extremely coarse media, about 40 or 50 micron. Unfortunately wix doesn't advertise the micron rating for any of the xp filters that I have searched. If they offer a xe filter for that number that is the tightest filter that wix offers. Usually 15 micron and they do advertise ratings on the standard filters and xe.
@@9thGenAccord i know but any adjustments to factory setup will void warranty. The reason is very simple, they don’t want the transmission to last long. Why do you think they are moving to turbo and twin turbo and soon turbo for every cylinder 🤦♂️🤦♂️ to further reduce engine life and they deceive us by emission regulations and power (both contradicting) . By the way, your videos are awesome and simple and i am using Amsoil as well 😉😉😉

Good video, why don't you cut off the end caps and then pull apart the folds of media to get a better look at the pleats?

I wish I am able to do the same to my Lexus GX 460. It will run the warranty void 😢
Why would it void the warranty?? At worst it will pull the particulate matter out of the fluid and make the tranny last a very long time.
