So since I feel morally obligated to comment on any informational Brawlhalla vid, here's another one tip for every weapon. If you main a weapon and I got something completely wrong, feel free to correct me in the replies. Scythe: Scythe players love to abuse weapon throws, not only can scythe get good reward from it but the throw hitbox itself is very large. If you see a scythe player dash jump at you, try spot dodging so they lose their weapon. They can read this, so be careful, but it at least forces them to think. Unarmed: If you get hit, focus exclusively on returning to neutral. Unarmed has very low damage output and taking a 3 hit string from it can be quickly evened up. Trying to constantly hit them is a recipe for getting gimped and ending up in a twitter clip. Lance: Honestly, this has always been a problem matchup for me, so I'm skipping this tip as I simply can't say I have enough knowledge to add to what egg said. Katars: Avoid the 45-degree angles. Dlight, nlight, dair, and rec are all very fast options katars can use to hit you diagonally above or below you, and few weapons have moves that can reliably cover those. Hammer: Stay in the 45-degree angles. Hammer has poor options to deal with these and it can pressure them to fall back or go for a Hail Mary swing (which you can usually react to and punish). Just watch out for any sigs that can cover it. Axe: AVOID THE 45-DEGREE ANGLES! Axe can get a lot of mileage out of floating at those angles above you, as it allows them to get easy dair or sair punishes, while below you they can get dlight or nair juggles. If you find yourself in these areas, the safest option is to just disengage and find a better position. Gauntlets: If you have a move that hits somewhat high (like sword or katars nlight), use it often. Gauntlets have poor range and throwing these attacks out can catch slight or dash jump dair approaches cleanly. They can use dlight (or gc dlight) to punish you for this so don't go too ham, but gauntlets dlight is a lot easier to punish than the slight or dair they usually try to use to hit grounded opponents. Cannon: Slow the game down. When everyone is swinging for the fences and releasing their inner monke, cannon can thrive by easily overwhelming you with constant rushdown, but when space is created and both players can think cannons weak neutral starts to show. Sword: Sword actually gets pretty poor reward off its hits, having limited read opportunities to pile on damage and getting average damage off its combos at best, so keep your cool. Sword can easily get these hits due to excellent neutral, and you panicking or getting mad only makes it easier for them. Keep in mind that one big string from you (depending on the weapon) can be pretty much equal to 3 sword dlight sairs. Greatsword: As stupid as it sounds, DON'T GET HIT. GS has very slow startup on all its moves, meaning it can greatly struggle to get hits. Even punishes are hard for it. When comparing every weapons fastest attack, GS ties for having the slowest fastest attack... there's gotta be a better way to say that, but you get the point. It's not unreasonable for someone to just try to avoid GS's hits, and it's much easier than trying to deal with GS reads as GS has by far the best reward on hit in the game. Orb: Just... fight it? Orb was never really something I had to make a specific gameplan for. I just did my thing and they did theirs and the better player usually won. Blasters: Many blaster players love to jump dair whenever they get scared (ESPECIALLY when they wiff), so position yourself for this and punish it. Spear: Respect dair. It's an insanely good poke for spear if they ever get above you, so always try to be very slightly horizontal of them in that position. Bow: Bow has a lot of trouble in disadvantage, as many of its attacks have precise hitboxes that can easily wiff up close. But watch out for nair and rec, nair is a very fast option they can use to punish you if you mess up and rec has a very good hitbox that is hard to contest if they get the space to use it. Hopefully this helps someone, sorry for not having anything productive to say on lance or orb.
"Scythe: Scythe players love to abuse weapon throws, not only can scythe get good reward from it but the throw hitbox itself is very large. If you see a scythe player dash jump at you, try spot dodging so they lose their weapon. They can read this, so be careful, but it at least forces them to think." bro what elo you are in
Good video, but nlight dlight slight is actually unjumpable if you get the grounded hitbox of nlight. Same goes for slight dlight slight, except it's only unjumpable if you hit the dlight bridge (sometimes it drops). Edit: I'm talking greatsword.

If you dodge up against cannon they won't be able to keep the combo going, all they can do is just jump and recovery after the slight. Still, it's very good to dodge up against it but if you keep doing it, you'll get punished eventually
