the thing i hate when watching these are the teams who put ridiculousness over practicality. Dont get me wrong, i love a good crazy soap box. but the people who make an unusable one because they thought “hey this would be hilarious” your just wasting every ones time.

There's a first. I worked really hard this week and was watching this after work. I dozed off for maybe 5-7 minutes, woke up and explained to my partner "we're almost ready, the repairs aren't bad." She was like, "what the hell are you talking about?". It was so real. We just had a cardboard boat regatta about a month or so ago, but the video was playing while I dozed off and I jolted back thinking we were in the middle of a competition. Brains are weird.

The absolute best part about these races besides the creativity is getting to watch prime examples of entropy in action, like the giant castle falling apart.
The commentary makes this so much more fun, the guys enthusiasm is second to none 👌

I don't think just sticking a couple of adapted bike frames together without putting some sort of fuselage over the whole assembly is really in keeping with the spirit of the event.

These builders don't understand the importance of - camber and caster for stability of these thin wheel, short and narrow wheelbase contraption's..
It'd be easy to design and build a machine to do the job, but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

Rear wheel steering is the absolute worst kind of design for any kind of vehicle that goes faster than about 3 miles an hour
