    Mr. Mario, I'm in 10th grade and I've been pushing myself to learn all these for Algebra 2 and Pre calculus and I've been depressed over the course of a year because of how slow and ignoeant I've been in this topics.
    Please keep making videos for everyone and add more explanation for those of youth and of edler youth.
    I will keep pushijg no matter what gets in my way, whether that be having no friends for support, losing someone I love, failing over and over again (etc.)
    Thank you.

    This helped so much! I was confused why we were multiplying the common denominator to the entire equation; The first time we multiply to get a common denominator accordingly, and multiply to the numerator, also. The second time we multiply the common denominator to the entire thing to cancel the denominators out. Thanks!

    When you solve for x, in the first example, you get x = 2 ± sqrt(34). Neither of these values make any of the denominators equal to zero (0), so in this case, both solutions are valid.

    does this always work, I can't really express it, but it seems like it won't always work. Also, I love that you mentioned extraneous solutions. My old math teacher was a hard ass for three things:
    Always show your work
    Always prove values of unknown variables
    Always be ready for a quiz or test that does NOT have any multiple choice questions as they have no place in math
    Fun thing was he did NOT believe in partial solutions so it was either 100% right or 100% wrong. Love that man now, but back then I hated his guts.

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  2 місяці тому

      Yes solving these types of rational equations can be solved in the manner I showed in the video but again it is important to check for extraneous solutions as we cannot divide by zero.
