I like JME because at a time when American mainstream rap became terrible, I accidentally discovered this "Grime" stuff by stumbling upon a garage battle and a football freestyle video on UA-cam in 2004/5. I listened to JME, and his lyrics were about being true to himself, and not being generic. He does make some party tracks, but the deep tracks in his albums have insightful lyrics, that are just the opposite of mainstream American rap. Not "Drugs, hoes, guns." Been repping BBK ever since.
