I live in an old historical goldrush boomtown in the mountains of Idaho where the snow averages 5 to 6 feet in depth each winter. There was an old prospector, Willie Puckett who has passed on, but he rode his old BMW with a sidecar around all winter. Not only that, but he rode it up over a mountain pass located between town and his gold claim almost weekly. His sidecar had a drive wheel which helped greatly with traction. Sometimes it was so slick he had to make his old lady ride in the sidecar just for traction. What a pair to see rippin' down a grey misty road through the pine trees in a snowstorm LOL. Anyway, here's to ya Willie I miss ya you old fart. Get on down the trail... ;-)
@@no_special_person It seems to me that I remember hearing that Iowa is experiencing a fairly rough winter right now. Anyway, I had a Honda Dream Cycle and a Honda Cub back in the sixties. I'm jealous of your 2020 Super Cub...
Been down that path in the mid 80's. That is all I had to ride and made it happen. I feel your pain. I did it because I had too. Lovin your content brother.
Awesome idea with the spiked tires. Saw an awesome video of a URAL crossing in a snow storm. Finally a Harley Davidson doing on video. Throw new tire should work well. Or a tire that will throw the snow. Like a truck winter tire, softer rubber. And chucks slush also. Wonder if anyone ridden Canadian winters all year on a Harley Davidson yet.
Yea you just cant in some places maybe west coast BC lower main land but in the east , you just can't too much ice , I've drive in the day time when snow has fallen but roads were bare , but below freezing that thawed snow turns to ice and it's dark earlier , then there's what they call black ice , and you just can't with that
I remember riding through a blizzard in Philadelphia in the 90’s that’s no fun I only had an hour and a half ride using my feet like out riggers lol I can only imagine what you went through
Adam Sandoval without a doubt I’d like to get with you in 2020 looking at putting some fundraising together for our first responders and military men and women no one left out
Adam , you just be careful brother and stay safe and warm so you can keep sharing your experience with riding community ! ✝️🙏😎 and be sure to give Scooter a treat for me 😂👍
Ummm, no. Just say no. Spikes are for snow racing on a track without dumb cagers losing control and making a pancake out of you! Even if you stay up. The biggest hazard on the road for bikers are the cars and they really get dumb when the snow flies.
craig wilkinson , I guarantee you it freezes hard and snows in North Texas in the winter. Freezes hard enough to kill a cotton plant. Icy roads are no match for a truck without 4-wheel drive, much less a motorcycle.
I tried riding in the snow one time. I ended up walking my bike home, one mile. That was 39 years ago. I never did it again and I never will. Riding in the snow is a no-go for me.
Snow ❄️ movement is tough whether on foot, wheeled or tracked vehicle then the issue of tons of visibility issues I know you experience. Ride extra safe out there!
What sucks is my only transportation is my Harley ultra classic and it's going on my 5th year having to ride all year round luckly the last 2 years not much snow but the first 3 were pretty bad but I'm only 24 years old so I guess I don't care but I do not recommend snow and ice driving. Scary as hell coming g down step hills with cars in front of you and u feel the bike just sliding without traction hahah. Never been hit but came close many times from being hit by other vehicles going to fast. Lord be with you brother and watch over you. I know the Lord has been with me and this will be the 6th year I gotta get thru it!
Wow I've heard you talk about when you rode in the snow and ice and watching this makes me question WHY ? I had to ride about a mile in it up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and as i slipped and slid around I knew I had to get to the nearest place and stop cause it is very dangerous. Glad you survived it. Spiked tires help with vehicles not sure how good it works with motorcycles and i don't want to know. haha Ride Safe Adam
Adam,, I was wondering how I would do a ride like your doing,, I think I would do the upper half of the country in the summer and the lower half in the winter months.... Just the DAWGS thoughts....
if you ride you know what you can do n not do...i rode dirt bikes in winter to be fast in rain mud in summer.. if you cant ride in bad weather.. you dont need to be on a bike in nice weather.. my opionion..

That would definitely work David, But...as soon as you hit dry pavement, those ice studs would be worn to nothing in a very short time. A shredded tire is the way to go on ice and snow. Thanks Adam, for your effort and determination! Good Luck!!!
I disagree with using this as a badge of honor. At some point, someone needs to respectfully tell this gentleman that this is nothing short of totally unacceptable. There's no honor in such pointless risks and the challenge isn't worth overcoming because all you achieve in the most ideal circumstances would be something to brag about. I don't know you and am humbly asking that you never do this again. I have no idea why others couldn't stop you, but if they couldn't, you'll need to stop yourself. Buy a trailer for this. I wish you the best of health and thanks for reading.
@@adamsandoval Unfortunately that just isn't compelling. The benefits don't justify the risks at all, and if you're willing to do such a thing to "complete [a] mission," then you're the perfect person to solve real, important problems, and treating this act like it's a valid "mission" of any kind is objectively poor judgment. Sorry. Again, I wish you the best, but the "mission" angle just is a nonstarter and frankly it just isn't justifiable regardless of the argument.

I thought I was insane, I only road in the first hour of snowy slush at almost 80 mph for about 30 mins with my lady on the back then saw asphalt but you beat me by long shot.

Best thing to do is cross the country in the south during winter 🙂
Stay safe this winter brother. We need you.
I don't plan on riding any snow this year... but ya never know 🤷
This is really one of my favorite videos by Adam, Snow! Snow, baby.freezing is not fun.
Low pressure and trail tires if you plan on doing that on a regular basis.
Riding in snow/ice...no way...not worth it! Love what you are doing, but no way.
The part where u walk on the buss and scooters runs to ya is classic.
Next level stuff. Amazing.
Luggy dual sport tires would help too
I'm from Girard, Ohio. During the winter months it's hard driving in the snow with a car let alone on a motorcycle .
