Mike Wozniak was actually a Doctor before comedy. Very funny guy, he was one of the original Taskmaster contestants at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and recently been announced as the assistant on Junior Taskmaster in the UK.
Pretty sure the doctor thing was just something he would tell people, but wasn’t actually true.
@@Renzsu He studied medicine at St. George’s and he said himself he was “a general bod on the wards” but didn’t do it long enough to specialise.
@@Renzsu I'm thought that was Alex Horne trolling, but I could be wrong. Allegedly he was at the same college as Paul Sinha.
A surprisingly profitable pipeline is medicine -> comedy. Harry Hill and Jo Brand are two others.
Mike jumping the fence for the balloon was the moment I knew he'd be one of the all time favourite contestants, and the rest of this series only prooves that right.
I will never tire of Mike chasing after a balloon.
I will never tire of Mike.
Great episode.
If Mike on a hoverboard ep 1 didn't sell me on him, climbing over the fence to recover a balloon certainly did.
17:21 Even TM is recommending you to watch Ghosts with Charlotte Ritchie.
(Lolly Adefope, Katy Wix and other constentants are in it too)
Thought Ghosts (the UK version) was very good.
I love Alex not telling the team of three that there would be a third person, so Charlotte is just walking in from the background with a huge smile while Sarah just goes "Oh..."
I love when Greg calls him out on it lol
Love Jamali's dynamic with Greg, one of my favorite new people I follow now.
Jamali questioning Alex's purpose in the balloon task and both he and Greg mocking him for being smug are some of my favourite moments in the show.
I know some people don't like Jamali's attitude but I personally love the dynamic he has with Alex and Greg, and I'm glad you seem to be enjoying it too.
Mike Wozniak "Grinding a balloon in a phone box" love it 😀😀😀
tbf to mike, in the UK calling someone a 'plum' is a fairly standard insult
The Wozniak balloon-dance-fence-hop remains in my opinion one of the finest task attempts of all time
For a Mike and Greg combo outside of taskmaster, I think you would enjoy a comedy show called MAN DOWN --- it is ridiculous and fun. As a reaction or not it is well worth a look.
I've been trying to bring that show to his attention for a while now lol Mike is very, very good in his role. Everyone on that show is, really. I feel like it's not very well known considering how good it is. Easily one of my top 5 favorite shows of all time.
I've never seen anyone watch this series and not get fully charmed by Wozniak
I'm as much of a milk guzzler as Mike and have never felt more seen
We all know Mike's gonna drink milk out of Charlotte's prize entry
That reads 2 ways lol
I'm not sure if you're far ahead enough to have watched episode 5 yet, but Mike's "greek dance" as Greg puts it, has reminded me of something brilliant from the live task in ep5 and I can't wait for you to react to it.
When we getting the "it's a good prize" song
Wozniak's arc in this series is honestly Top 5 in my british television comedy ranking 😂
Love Charlotte Richie in Ghosts Katy Wix is in it, too. Should give it a look.
Mike was a medical doctor, and reminds me of my late dad who was also one with his humour.
Harry Hill was a doctor too, and is another comedian I'd love to see on Taskmaster.
@@tortoiseoflegends4466 As was Paul Sinah - so Harry must complete the trio of medical comedians on Taskmaster! The three were part of St. George's Medics Revue, but not sure if it was at the same/similar times.
My husband and I chant “It’s a good [thing]” often.
Charlotte Ritchie was in a show called Fresh Meat about 10 years ago, she played the character Oregon. Joe Thomas was also in the show and played the character Kingsley
Me and my day-to-day life:
"Oh, you mean that balloon full of helium that floats to the sky? Don't think I'm getting that back."
Charlotte Ritchie is one of the main actors in the UK version of Ghosts.
Oh no... is that why I run like that?? Not because I'm highly uncoordinated but because I'm a schoolteacher?? It all makes so much sense now. lol
FYI, calling someone a 'plum', IS a thing in the UK. Not all that common, sure, but it is a known, casual insult.
Treacle steam pudding (homemade) with custard is fantastic
I live alone and never have company for meals so I agree, Milk from the carton screw glasses!
You can really see in this season that they got more comfortable with working around covid.
Charlotte Ritchie to me will always be Oregon from the show Fresh Meat, also had Joe Thomas, Jack Whitehall and Zawe Ashton, amongst others. That was a great early 2010s show
Ah, 'plum' is an insult. Plums = testes.
This is definitely a top tier episode in my opinion. All the tasks are great.
The drinking vessel prize is surprisingly entertaining. Mike's balloon fence hop is iconic. The entertaining argument from Mike & Lee and the hilariously bizarre argument from the trio. The haunted house task gives an excellent performance from all 5 contestants. And the live task having them be surveyed in advance to then rank themselves is probably one of the most unique and interesting ones in the show.
My only gripe is I think Charlotte deserved more credit for her haunted house because her string wasn't as obvious as Jamali's and the fake Charlotte shocked and impressed everyone, even Greg, but he downplayed it later because she revealed herself rather tamely. But I don't think revealing the illusion should be counted as part of the "haunting" to mark down. Idk, maybe I'm biased because I love Charlotte too much, and 3 points is decent tbf.
"Hemisect" is absolutely a word. Just as a "hemisphere" divides a sphere in two......... I'm sure you can get the rest.
I'm not sure about treacle on bread, but treacle pudding with custard is the food of gods! My dad used to eat weird stuff on bread too. His favourite was sardines in tomato sauce and peanut butter sandwiches. Thinking about it still makes me heave lol.
I dont like either Sardines or Peanut Butter, but somehow that sounds like that a good combo lol
@@AdamfromFWCI BTW I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet but plum is actually a real insult here in the UK. It's basically a polite way of calling someone an idiot.
Look at us, we’re the milk boys
Charlotte looks so much like Margot Kidder
If you go to wales, you might a love spoon carved with shapes.
You may of seen Charlotte richie in season 4 of the netflix series called you (Joe goldberg partner in the show)
Well that's where I know her from
Hope this helps brother
I drink milk out of the carton, my family hate me!
I've found that a lot of people are weird about drinking milk. I'm a big milk drinker.
This was the episode when I realised I find Mike Wozniak incredibley attractive. 😏
in true taskmaster fassion adam won me over, when i first saw his entry i thought, shit 1 point, but the argument is sound so now im all on board with cartons for 5 points
Fun fact: Mike Wozniak will be in the new TM iteration (Jr Taskmaster) as the assistant, along with fellow TM alumni Rose Matafeo, who will be the taskmaster
Will always defend the use of PLUM as an insult here in sunny England. Is that not an Aussie term?
I've heard Plums being used to describe testacles. But never called a person a plumb.
"Muppet" is my personal favourite
@@AdamfromFWCI lol. Muppet is a classic. Yes, Plum is basically calling someone balls! There's also Plonker, (made more popular by Del Boy in the TV show Only Fools and Horses. Then there's Wally - which has nothing to do with wallabies! Dingbat, Stupid Git or Plank also popular! 🙂 Could add several more that are way worse, but any of the above, would generally get a laugh and unless said incredibly aggressively, would be pretty safe to use unoffensively between mates. Caveat is, I'm in my late 40s so in terms of current slang - I'm clueless! 🙂
@@yzolakitchi what about Clod lol
@@AdamfromFWCI Now that one I haven't heard, but am guessing it means thick like a clod of earth. Wazzock, Moron and Dipstick have all come to mind now. Wazzock I particularly like, 'cos it's just a fun word to say!
Also, Charlotte was in FEEL GOOD, written and starring Mae Martin, on Channel 4 here and Netflix. Dunno if it was shown in Oz.
Lost me at “how nasty it can be”! Worry not it’s still got a thumbs up 😅
Do have a look for the series 'Ghosts' ,the UK version , i think you'd like it, its funny. 👻👻👻
Jamali does not commit
But he commits to not committing lol
@@AdamfromFWCI That he does
Is it just me or does Charlotte Ritchie also look/act quite a bit like Daniel Radcliffe?
Charlotte Ritchie is in You
She is??? She must have been gentle, I didnt feel a thing
@@AdamfromFWCI Ooooo! Cheeky, is what she muttered on searching for entry (probs a bit too much?!)
She's in the 'flix Penn Bagley psychological thriller campy murder thing, 'You', the last season of which is set in Laaandaan
Wozniak is the definition of your favorite comedians favorite comedian. He´s hilarious but I can see why he would have a hard time finding mass market appeal on his own.
just a little side note, not that it matters. lee mack known for his quick wit but they to cut a lot of lee mack XD else would be too much of him
That's funny, because on reflection after this series I thought Lee was so quiet! Makes sense though.
