Great guide though. I'm over 600 kc and experienced but Olm and his mechanics are so unique in my opinion and the same thing can be explained in many different ways. I will show this to my friends whom I can't fully explain or show them how to skip.
Excellent explanations, clear examples, great video! As someone starting to learn trio olm (and learning how to skip him more efficiently), this is amazing for learners. I'll be sure to show this to my friends when possible :D
I'm super late here but if the skipping is set for mage hand for example, is it possible to switch it to the melee hand guy? Is it just everyone tanking 2 hits on the other side and then continuing normal run or am I dumb af? XD otherwise super helpful guide!!
Yeah exactly what you said. Not everyone has to tank it tho if u can time it correctly. After his first basic attack (and then his special) u can wait 1 tick and go back to the other side already. Saves u 1 auto tank as runner.
Aw man I just got an elder maul drop too. Which is awesome. We hit the hardest drop table but at the same time it's the worst item. That could've been a tbow
Both sides can do it, but one side will be skipping the empty event/null, so it doesn't really help anything. That's usually a bad idea, actually, since it's a good way to spread a burn, or walk on acid.
I see your logic and its easier to follow up like that, but its not true. Olm rises and starts with the rotation; basic, special, basic, event. This is why it's mentioned this way.
@@imDaep when olm rises he starts with basic attack twice then a special.? When he rises he does basic from middle then basic from melee or mage THEN he does special
I might man but solo melee hand is a bit different because you skip 2 attacks and you want to the skip basic attack from the middle & special attack when u go to the pinky. I'll make more video's in a month.
Hey, i noticed when you said to set to mage side you need to tank 2 hits and a special, but the hits were tanked on melee side, does that mean to set for mage you need to tank 2 on melee + special, and setting for melee you need to tank 2 + special on mage side?
Yes, it will switch up the rotation so that it's set for the other side. Just the be more clear. Imagine its set for melee but you want it to be mage set. 1. It rotates his head to the meleer 2. Does a basic attack 3. You make sure the head stays rotated to melee side by standing melee side 4. After it does the special attack, you can go back and stand on the mage side. 5. It'll do another basic attack on the melee side 6. The mager can now skip because it's Mage set. Keep olm's rotation in mind to understand it more clearly: Basic attack Special attack Basic attack Null
@@imDaep Hey daep, if it’s mage set and would want to make it melee set would the runner just tank 2 hits and a special on mage side, would that make it melee set?
Yes, when the head is looking at the mage side and does his basic attack, then if it turns the head & does a special attack in the mean time. That means its set for the mager. Same as for meleer.
The person that skips is the one that that head is looking away from and doing a special at the same time. So mage set is just the opposite of melee set logically. All your doing is making the head turn left, right, left, right etc and trying to not be on the side hes about to special.
Love how it’s all civilised until he swears lol
Where do i swear xd

Really nice guide, but how can you explain what melee/mage set is? and how it happens etc?

Also, your video has helped me tremendously. 60kc and I’m already skipping for 200+ kc players who don’t know yet lmfao. You the man.

Finally a good video for this. Thank you!!! Just subbed
Good guide but im a bit confused tho. Is it possible to skip both sides at the same time or just 1 side?
You can but it will only be set for one side, so therefor not needed.
Both sides can do it, but one side will be skipping the empty event/null, so it doesn't really help anything. That's usually a bad idea, actually, since it's a good way to spread a burn, or walk on acid.
This was an excellent guide. I haven't understood some of the things regarding when a skip would be successful and when it wouldn't be before.

Only thing that confused me u said olms cycle is basic attack special basic attack. Its two basic attacks special two basic attacks
