Learn from history and do not depend on foreign powers! Optimistically, they have their own problems/interests/restrictions and cannot be 100% committed to Armenia and the Armenian cause. Considering the size of Turkey and Azerbaijan, in no classic war can Armenia be assumed to be the winner. Armenians need to empower the country with nuclear deterrence. That is the only language that the semi-savage Turks understand.

Actually, there will be a gathering at Yerablur on new year's eve. So please join the families and public visiting our martyred soldiers. Also, the public in Armenia that’s still behind nikol, is fixated on whatever he and his team tells them they have accepted the sale of Artsakh and any parts of Armenia. They only care about their personal gains.
    Thank you to madam ambassador.

Artsakh and Nakhjivan are inherently Armenian territories that are unlawfully occupied by the Azerbaijan .
These territories must return to Armenia and be occupied by Armenian people .
There should be no peace with Azerbaijan. Unless these territories are returned to Armenia .

Thank you Radio Yerevan for this interview, I agree 100% with Dziunik on this I have been studying the Sth Caucasus and Baku for 30 years, Its my hobby, I was saddened by Armenia's self destructive drift to the west. Watching how the US manipulated expats like Monte Melkonian during the 1990s was also troubling. Its all about Baku ofcourse the king in the great game, I also keep saying if Russia and Iran sort out Azerbaijan and Baku (Caspian) then the problems will be solved, Its worth speculating that the events in Syria can be seen as the west retreating rather than a new conquest, Syria is a trap,

@@ETALAL haha, yes we got the joke.
But for the uninitiated, here's an old Radio Yerevan joke:
Q: Is it true that there is freedom of speech in the Soviet Union the same as there is the USA?
A: In principle, yes. In the USA, you can stand in front of the Washington Monument in Washington, DC, and yell, "Down with Reagan!", and you will not be punished. In the Soviet Union, you can stand in the Red Square in Moscow and yell, "Down with Reagan!", and you will not be punished.
      ---
And here's our take on a modern-day version of a Radio Yerevan joke:
Question: Can you be jailed in the West for your opinions?
Answer: No, not for opinions. Only for sharing them on social media.

Three points come to mind on listening to the interesting and alternative views in this conversation.
    1. CONTENT: This conversation extensively covers military, political and ideological subjects on the security of Armenia and its people. That quality is the result of good questions, well-phrased. For that, full marks are deserved.
    2. MORE DEBATE STYLE: A style I'd like to see more of is this - push back at the interviewee when a view is expressed which might be questioned. Too many alternative media interview programs now default to being virtually like a pre-scripted Q&A. It is good to see Hovik and Asbet respectively pushing back when a point worth questioning is made. Much more of that please! More debating please, push for supporting *evidence* on claims or positions taken. Go at that like a dog on a bone. One of the weaknesses of developing nations is their thin intelligensia, resulting in black and white views that are just plain wrong. Debates build mental muscle.
    3. ANTHROPOLOGIST AND SOCIOLOGIST SUGGESTION: I'd be excited if you can find an anthropologist or sociologist to talk to in Armenia. The culture is changing, I suspect Westernisation especially among the 20 and 30-somethings. I would like to know about that. Of the over sixty books I've read since early 2023 the handful that were by anthropologists and sociologists were among the most insightful. Those fields I've come to understand uncover truths not covered by historians, political scientists and politics commentators.

If you asked me I would have told you: Yes and I have good reasons to say that. What happened so far is that Armenia/Armenians, despite Turk's Genocide a century ago again underestimated their savage behavior and hence under-prepared themselves to confront them.
It seems to me Armenians failed to present the South Caucasus conflict to the world as it should have been presented. With such a lack of strategy, they let the Turks portray them to the world especially the Muslim world as occupiers and indirectly put Armenia side by side with Israel and have sympathy with Azerbaijan.
But in the real world, despite Armenia occupying part of Negorno Karqabagh, Armenia was the victim and Armenia committed to such a thing out of fear and lack of security and everything could have been resolved peacefully if the world had given the guarantee to Armenia the Turks will not harm Armenia /Armenian again.
Armenia and Armenian could simply do the following reasoning and draw the world's attention and let the world force Azerbaijani ruling clowns to comply with it and consider severe sanctions if they violated the agreement and even militarily confronted:
It is the case that after the collapse of the USSR, the Azarbaaijaani Parlement approved that the mountainous karabagh self-determination which it and Nakhjavan enjoyed in the Soviet era be taken away from Artsakh /Mountaneos karabagh. At the same time, they let Nakhjavan keep its Soviet-era privileges. OK so far there is a double standard that needs to be addressed: Why has Nakhjavan till now kept its soviet era privileges and the Mountainous Karabakh (Artsakh) lost them from the day first of Azerbaijan's independence? This needs to be addressed fully since this is the main bug that has created other bugs. other bugs can be fixed automatically if this bug get fixed first. Why Armenia/Armenians do not focus on this matter? How the stupid misguided rulers of Azarbaaijaan can sell such double standards to the world in front of the eyes of Armenians?
What happened after that was a reaction and happened because of the wrongdoing of Azarbaaijaani's parliament. Yes, Artsakh declared independence, and then Armenia occupied some other parts of Karabakh. With a sound mind, why shouldn't they do that? They have to create a buffer zone to be protected till a genuine negotiation and peace treaty protects them from the harm of Azerbaijan and Turkey's savage rulers.
Now Armenians have to explain the situation fully to the world and then request from UN General Assembly and Security Council to pass a resolution:
1- All Artsakh/Negorno Karabakh people return to their motherland.
2- All soviet privileges were restored and people had free access to Armenia, which is only 4 to 6 km.
3- A demilitarized zone is defined around Artsakh (Mountainous Karabakh)
4- The world/Azarbaijan compensates them for the pain and suffering and ... of the exodus.
      5- ........................
Hope my Armenian sisters and brothers in humanity pay attention to this note and DO NOT LET BAD GET REWARDED AND HELP THE GOOD PREVAILS.

Our southern border is so small and so insignificant while Azerbaijan crowds us through Nakhijevan and Artsakh and the part that makes me so mad is that Nakhijevan and Artsakh are both indigenous to Armenians yet they’re the ones that have legal rights to them!!!

    • @noricd
      @noricd День тому

@@ETALAL Ask on ChatGPT or other Large Language Model, or use this search string in a search engine "What is the degree of geological instability of the South Caucasus exposing the region to earthquakes."
Oh, OK I did it for you. The ChatGPT response is below.
      ------
The South Caucasus is a geologically unstable region, making it prone to earthquakes. This instability is primarily due to its location at the convergence zone of the Eurasian and Arabian tectonic plates, with additional influences from the Anatolian plate. The ongoing tectonic collision and complex fault systems result in significant seismic activity. Here’s an overview of the factors contributing to the region’s instability:
      1. Tectonic Context
      • The South Caucasus lies within the Alpine-Himalayan orogenic belt, a major seismic belt that spans from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
      • The collision between the Arabian and Eurasian plates creates compressional forces that uplift the Caucasus Mountains and generate earthquakes.
      • Strike-slip and thrust faulting are common, leading to diverse earthquake mechanisms.
      2. Active Fault Systems
      • Major faults, such as the Greater Caucasus Thrust Fault, the Pambak-Sevan-Syunik Fault, and the North Anatolian Fault, cross the region.
      • These faults accommodate significant tectonic stress, leading to frequent moderate to strong earthquakes.
      3. Seismic History
      • The region has experienced numerous destructive earthquakes throughout history, such as:
      • The 1988 Spitak earthquake in Armenia (M6.8), which caused extensive damage and loss of life.
      • The 1991 Racha earthquake in Georgia (M7.0).
      • These events highlight the potential for high-magnitude quakes.
      4. Geological Composition
      • The complex geological structure, including folded and faulted sedimentary rocks, amplifies seismic risk.
      • Volcanic activity in parts of the region, particularly in Armenia and Georgia, adds to the geological instability.
      5. Current Seismic Monitoring
      • Governments and international organizations have established seismic monitoring networks to study and predict earthquakes.
      • However, the region’s infrastructure and urban planning often remain vulnerable to seismic risks.
      6. Hazard and Mitigation
      • The high population density in urban centers like Tbilisi, Yerevan, and Baku increases the potential for human and economic losses.
      • Strengthening building codes, raising public awareness, and improving disaster response mechanisms are critical to mitigating earthquake risks.
In summary, the South Caucasus’s geological instability is a consequence of its tectonic setting, active fault systems, and historical seismicity. This makes it one of the most earthquake-prone regions in the world, necessitating ongoing vigilance and proactive measures to manage the associated risks.
