- This is a 6 month review of our 2018 NuCamp RV Tab 400. We have spent over 2 months in it and have over 12,000 miles on the tires. In this video, I share how it has held up, things we really like about the trailer and things that we would change.

YAY! A trailer review! I love those!! (Especially one that people actually use 😁)As we know, you could have 10 T@B 400's with 10 different owners, and it will look 10 different ways inside. What mattered to us when choosing a trailer was what we wanted in a camper:
1. A bathroom
2. An indoor cooking area
3. A dedicated bed
After that come all the other seemingly unlimited questions that follow - budget, tow ability (with the vehicle we already had), quality of build, storage capabilities, etc...hours of research!
It was only after I started following your documented events of the Hummingbird that I realized that there was something else I needed to pay attention to...CUSTOMER SERVICE. I think that's when we decided to 'up' the game on our trailer search for a more quality build camper, finally landing on the LGMax (although we liked the T@b 400 as well, the 2 side windows in the Max dinette area that open sealed the deal for us - as we've talked about, they are very similar and we have a few tweaks we'd do to both of them, lol!)
Let's face it - we have rolling homes that will need servicing at one time or another so I think the most important 'value' we can look for is indeed, a company that will not only stand by its product but listens to customer input for future improvements.
Can I be a Liberty Outdoors Little Guy fan AND a NuCamp fan....? Yep! It's all good.

Ditto! We love our 400 too. It took awhile to learn to tweak the parameters in the Alde, but the learning curve is manageable. We too love the quiet ducted air conditioning, and using the timer on the Alde is sweet. We wake up on cold mornings nice and toasty without the roar of a conventional propane heater disturbing your sleep. Here’s what I WISH NuCamp would have done instead of making the Avia: Make the length just two feet longer, rotating the bed so it can be a walk-around. Making that bed is not fun, but that’s such a minor “complaint”. Also, maybe making a slide out for the kitchen so two of you can pass easily. Maybe that’s not a good engineering decision, but it would be nice to have a wider corridor there. Bottom-line though is the bottom line. That isn’t a good marketing decision, but a 28 foot with all the additions in the Avia is a better decision. So we too would make the same decision to purchase. The winners on this camper are the European styling, low weight, low height, Alde, ducted heat and air, small, and our solar panels on the roof. Even when compared to something like let’s say Airstream Nest, this has so many better features and lower price, and that goes for the Bambi as well. And we considered them all, but the 400 won!

We also love our T@b 400. We've had it just over a year now. Thanks for the idea to turn the upper two mattresses perpendicular to the bottom one. This is much more comfortable without the mattress "seam" running horizontally under both of us. Great suggestion!

Really good review and also a ditto from us about the customer service. We had a water issue with our outdoor shower and indoor, and while camping on the western tip of Oregon, Cape Blanco, the warranty dept worked with us to replace our trailer with a new one. Unbelievable service asking us the color we would like! Within a month they shipped our new trailer to a dealer we were able to drive over to get. No question in my mind that their service is top notch! Thank you for your pitch on this great trailer.
Your story is a great example of why we love NuCamp! They take care of their customers.
You don't want to lose any storage space in a cabinet to a microwave yet you store your microwave in a cabinet :) Sorry, had to giggle at that. Great video and thanks for sharing!!
missstsomewhere What we love though is the option to remove the microwave on trips when we know we won’t need or want it. If it’s permanently installed, then we don’t have that option.

I love my 400 and I’d buy it again as well! I do wish they would figure out an easier way to move the dinette table up and down. Mine is stored in a closet because it’s too heavy for me but I do like the couch my husband fixed for me. NuCamp people are awesome and so helpful! Can’t say enough good things about them. I can’t imagine ever buying another camper from anyone other than a NuCamp.
I would totally agree about being loyal to NuCamp! They truly do make their owners feel like family.

nüCamp has come out with a much lighter table, they are using in the 2021 TaB400, and you can order one to go in the previous TaB400s. We got one to replace the heavy table, which was hard to deal with. The new lighter table is great, easy to move up and down.

He glances lightly over the tires, but this can be a BIG issue. In this day of Brand X Chinese made trailer tires, you don't always get a reliable tire. If Nucamp has gone the extra yard to make sure that their supplier is making a tire that won't disintegrate this year, good on them. Ensuring that the quality you need is there in the places you can't see, is what sets a company apart from the makers of shiny junk.

We really appreciate your video. We love our 400 and have camped 16 nights in four different camping scenarios since our purchase mid-July. We have the factory solar with inverter and two six volt AGM batteries and are amazed with the flexibility of 400. We have installed both the tensioning springs and two rows of softer springs for the shoulder area. The bed comfort with a 3 in memory foam topper and the Froli tweaks make for a very comfortable bed. The 400 is perfect for us and to have all the features and space in a simple package without the complication of a slide out is ideal for us. I cannot think of a better matched camper for our needs

Appreciate your time and opinion on all your videos! We love our T@b 400, it's the perfect fit for the two of us. Ours is the same exterior color of yours and the interior of our sofa cushion is called "cafe" or brown. We also use the Command hooks as you can remove without damaging the wall. We do have the Doty Hill shade, it is well made but we find it difficult especially inserting the pole.

We have watched this for a second time and have come to love the T@B 400 even more, only thing that we will change out is the kitchen sink and add a Water Treatment System for drinking water.....THX again.

I have 2 dogs -both have tried to go through screen door....I use a wooden baby gate to put in front of it inside the unit. When the baby gate is fully closed - it just fits in the door way...works great for me. When I enter I just move the baby gate to the right which is easiest.
We do the same thing with the baby gate and it’s worked well all summer for us
CLEANING TIP: (Especially for glass)
First do an initial cleaning to get rid of the easily removed dirt.
Then use a 'clay bar' (like they use for detailing automotive paint) and water to remove even stubborn stuff. Keep surface wet at all times while using the clay. Spray bottle works just fine.
(Clay bar can be found locally or ... on Amazon of course.)

I bought mine a month ago but I am still in the process of inquiring about converting the toilet to a compost toilet and using the black tank for another gray tank... hopefully NuCamp will get back to me soon... I did have an issue with a faulty RV door lock which the dealer did replace ... And I just saw that one of the screen clips is missing... Hopefully NuCamp can just send me one and it is an easy fix for me... So very excited for my first outing... I would take it out now but I do not want to use the existing toilet... Want it fresh and clean for the change over... :) keep up your great vids... They are of great value since my dealer lacks knowledge of the T@B 400’s...
laughsdaily. I knew more about the T@b 400 than my dealer also (thanks TwD!). When they communicate with us, they keep calling it the Little Guy t@b. Ugh. Am hoping they do not order wrong parts due to the name confusion as we have her/him? In for minor fixes now.
Congratulations on your 400! I look forward to hearing how your switch of the toilet goes. That might be a modification I would be interested in as a way to increase the grey tank capacity.
Great thought! I was thinking the same thing. Do not have a T@B 400 yet but the toilet conversion is smart for many reasons. No blank tank issues, no dumping, no smells, more sanitary overall in my opinion. Bigger grey tank! Will be interested at what NuCamp says.

I wish my 2021 had this huge outdoor storage bin. I’m lucky to just get my hoses in and one electric cord! To make it worse, the door is so small, it’s a challenge to get a white hose in there. I’ve had to buy a Zero G to stop the struggles!

Great review ..may I suggest for your screen measure a strip on the screen tape it of on both sides equal and spray paint a strip on it ...put a piece of card board on opposite side when spay paying to keep spray down, that may give you a visual line. Just a suggestion.

TIP: I have a dog too and may be getting a NüCamp 400. On the screen door maybe spray paint on a stencil of some design (T@B?) so that your dog sees the design on the screen and knows something is in the way? Just a thought. Love you vids!

So like your vids! You have to know that you were instrumental in my buying my T@B 400! I love this trailer ! ! ! !
I am a photographer and it is just glorious to get close to a location and "live" there for a week. Also it is small enough that you can utilize a tent site. In many National Parks it is possible to use tent sites when there are not a lot strictly "trailer" sites. The bed is just well, amazing! I did not believe you at first ..... COME ON! REALLY?....... I get quality, restful sleep and with the Alde turning on in the morning automatically.... heaven! I often get up at 4am to catch the morning light.
With the solar system I can go indefinably in cooler climates... it gives me just so much dang freedom!

How tall are you. I am considering the TAB 400 and I am 6 ft is the bed adequate for us bigger folks?
I am 6' tall myself and no issues. The bed is the length of a residential queen bed.
Love the dinette/couch combo. Much more useful to me that a bed convertible which I would never use. Seems they could replace that table with a lightweight swivel away like the small Lance campers do. Maybe you can install your own?
We keep trying to figure out what we want to do with the table. We rarely use it as a table and mainly keep it as a couch. We definitely would like something lighter.
Thank you for the update. I didn’t know the larger fridge was a three way. I don’t want it. The compressor fridge is better in my humble opinion. I also don’t want to loose the upper cabinet. A Walmart microwave on the shelf will be just fine. Looking forward to the see how the bed fix works. Thanks again.

We love the bathroom. We always refer to it as our luxurious wet bath.....the driest wet bath. in the industry!
You do know that there’s no bottom in your forward box, because propane is heavier than air. When it leaks it will leak out the bottom and be safe. Otherwise it will fill up the box and probably blow up. Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the T@B 400. I have a dealer a few miles from my house with both T@B 400/320s and Little Guy Max and Mini Max which I've looked at a couple of times (just was there last week). The T@B 400 is still my favorite of that type of trailer by far...it just feels like a nicer place to spend time, even though the Little Guy Max has a bit more space and more windows.
I did notice on the unit at my dealer, the 400 had the new yellow porch light, the new (and very nice) spring loaded aluminum entry step with lighting, and a new silver metal entry grab handle (not the lucite type you have)...as well as the new vented twin 6V batteries, and a built in microwave. The new vented battery case, while probably very practical long term, does eat up some precious cargo space in the basement.
I think we may be ready to order one this winter...but I need to get past the "what's coming out next" syndrome!!
Thats always difficult because each year trailer manufacturers just keep using their game with more features and gadgets. I definitely like some of the new features on the 2019 models....can't wait to see what NuCamp adds for the 2020's.
Tempus fugit. Get in and get out. If a new mod really matters to you you may be able to re-fit. Probably it wont matter as much as a missed week under the pines.
I see this trailer and love it. Its $54,000 For the small space. Quality i agree , But its still 54k. Others like Grand Design are in at $38k. And better space and layout BUT, Im still not sure lol

We’ve had ours now for almost a year and a half and still love it. We couldn’t be happier with the build quality and the customer support.
That's a good review. Six months and 12000 miles and only a broken clip is impressive by any standards. After seeing NuCamp personally I can see why your so happy with them. They are a well built trailer.
We have been very happy. I can definitely see the difference between this year and last years trailers although there was quite a price difference.
I love your videos, helped us decide to get the 400 Boon-dock.
What are the items plugged into the outlet by the battery, under your battery disconnect? I have something plugged in there too.... I THINK it is to charge the battery when hooked up to shore power. You have two hooked up to it.
We have the diamond box on the tongue, we are going to have to raise it to make it so we can add a weight distribution setup. We are towing with a four door Jeep Wrangler.
Our four speakers are all on Zone A; you have to Fade it to go front and back, like a car stereo. No big deal.
I believe that plug is the refrigerator and then I plugged in a power strip that I have installed at the foot of the bed to plug in our Amazon Fire Stick.
@@TravelswithDelaney It is the fridge that is plugged in, as it runs on AC when connected to shore power, and DC off the battery when no AC power is available. The WaVo converter/charge is directly wired to the 30-amp shore power plug.
Another Great Video Patrick! We have 4000 miles and 48 camping nights on our 2018 T@B400 and agree with your insights completely. The build quality and service is incredible. Towing handling is superb also. As far as features, travel trailer perfection is tough to achieve but the T@B400 comes close. One thing I am curious about: do you or Patty recall where you found the tiny trash can that you put on the wet bath wall ? that looks handy!

Once again a home run... Just FYI: I just received my 2nd order from Redbudsuds. Love the scents and the ingredients are safe and naturally repel insects... they've been so bad here in WI because of the rain they still get to me but keeps me clean and smelling great.. One thing I don’t hear in the reviews mentioned about is the total weight which I read is around 3000 lb and how handles on the road on different size SUV s?
I know a pickup w 10-11 k pulling capacity wont feel a thing .

Our T@B 400 weighed around 2800# unloaded and you could load it to 3500#. We towed it with a Toyota 4Runner that was rated for 5000#. We loved the pay it pulled our 400. Plenty of power and braking. The 4Runner is on a truck chassis.
Have you met anyone retired and full time RV living with the T@B? I've been researching this for a year. Love your 'walk through' on all the features on the 400.

@@TravelswithDelaney I just bought a T@b 400 2 days ago and I am retiring in 2 years and I will travel alone for a couple years to see the US and Canada. I will be in mine for a long time. I do not think I will have any problems just being one person. Two people could feel crowded on extended trips I imagine.

Nice job! Covered it all. Have had our 400 out 1 time on a week vacay. Love it! Our AC seems to be running very cold and we have a tough time seeing the control thermostat as it is so high up and seems very faint when on. Back at dealer to see what they can do to recalibrate. Love the quiet ducted air. Yes, sink drains so slow. Hope NuCamp figures that out. Hope future 400s have a bigger outside storage door too. Where do you have a cabin trashcan since you do not use the door one ? We have come up with the same conclusion to just use it to store other stuff.
We have a small trash can stored in the round cabinet below the sink. It works well there for us. The thermostat is very difficult to read in ours as well.
We bought this slim small waste basket at Home Depot. I couldn't find a link for it on their website though. It is about 12 inches tall, gray knotted plastic with handles on the top on each side. We use a rubber tie to secure it to the table leg for transit. I move it around a lot when I am cooking or working on something. I have also installed two Command hooks in silver outside for wet coats or to hang a large trash back next to the door.
Patrick', great video! You have me sold on the tab 400. We have been looking at the tab and really appreciate the good and honest review. Carl seems a lot better than "Buzz" especially when it comes to customer satisfaction.
I would say C@rl is better on both build quality, component parts and definitely customer service. The one caveat to all of that is C@rl was $16,000 more than was we paid for Buzz. That being said, we think it was worth every cent.

As I watch this video, I giggle here and there because many of the little things we do that same. We store our leash in the top cubby on the door, plastic bags and trash liners for the trash can, and I also use the packing cubes for my clothes. My husband still hasn't retired his backpack but we wouldn't give up the wardrobe for the slightly larger fridge. We store both our hoses and extra water can in the front compartment. We also have a mat for when it rains tethered near the propane tank. Have you looked into getting a gauge for the propane tank? I am not sure how good they are but I am not comfortable not having any idea how much we have left. We also recently purchased a microwave but we put it under the bed and I am wondering how much I will use it there. I will have to try your method of putting it in the cupboard. I think I could clear some space for the stuff I currently have there in the top. Honestly I am not sure how much we would use it. We bought an air fryer and a mini instant pot and both work great for most things we would need. I also picked up a fold and go which is awesome. We grilled some pork chops and squash this weekend.
We used the Alde for the first time and it was lovely. It does take awhile to heat up so we are glad we picked up the Heater Buddy. I would take that over having hot air blowing. The radiant heat is so awesome once it heats up.
Mid September, we took our T@b back for a few issues and they are as follows:
- The door needed to be adjusted as it wouldn't close fully. Just needed adjustment and we also learned that the door has 2 positions. One is sealed and the other, like the windows, allows a bit of air for ventilation.
- The galley curved cabinet didn't close quite right. Just needed adjustment.
- An area behind the toilet was coming away from the wall. Just needed some caulk.
- The laminate on the edge of the table, started coming off. Easily fixed.
- The DVD player stopped working. They replaced it in 5 minutes.
- The biggy was the paint on the underside of the trailer was chipping which made me concerned that it would eventually rust. The dealership repainted the whole thing including the step and the tongue. It looked so good.
We are coming up on two months of ownership and we couldn't be happier. Our T@b is the bell of the ball at every campground. When people drive by, they rubberneck. Last weekend, we gave several tours and I am pretty sure I sold one to a couple who just weren't happy with their RPod. I would say that you shouldn't buy a T@b if you don't like attention. We have been out every weekend except the weekend we got the issues addressed. In early October, we will be driving out to see my aunt and go to the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque. I cannot thank you enough for the videos that gave me confidence to buy and tow a trailer. We just love pulling our little home with us and waking up in the middle of the night to a sky full of stars. My husband and I lay there finding the different constellations.

Great video. We had 2 400s parked next to us at the last rally, including Verna’s. We got a 2016 320 max s, new at the time for right around 16k, so as much as we loved the 400, we are satisfied with ours. The dealer said we could trade ours in and for 16 more, we could upgrade. I was tempted...
Our very first camper that we ever owned was a 2005 T@B. It didn't have a bathroom. We loved that camper and used it for 2 years before upgrading to a larger trailer. 13 years later....we finally got back into a T@B with our 400. We love it. I think all of the trailers made by NuCamp are top notch.
Great video...I’m new to rev living...buying my first 2021 Tab 320s...So if I am connected to shore power and keep the heat system running full time I can use my city water without my pipes freezing? I’ll be using a heated hose connection btw...also can I use a small space heater at the same time w the ALDE if I need it?
We used our T@B 400 in the winter and had no issues. We just used the fresh water tank so that we did not have to have a water hose attached to the trailer when it was freezing outside.
We are in the market for a TT and the 400 is in the number 1 spot, to date. However, we are holding off until the Hymer Touring GT hits our market. We do have a dog and our main concern, not just with the Tab but all the trailers we are considering is the screen door. With the screen closed can we put a doggie gate on the inside of the trailer door frame? Love your videos!
Thats an excellent idea for the dog gate....I will have to do some measuring and see if that is possible.

I have a suggestion on your gray tank set up a separate external container for your gray water only
We actually have a small 6 gallon tank for that but sometimes when boondocking, theres not necessarily a place near by to easily dump that container. And with having an SUV vs a Truck, we don't necessarily have a place to haul a really large external tank.

It is recommended to not run it during travel due to the fact of the propane and an open flame.

We have not had any issues with moisture under our mattress. The froli allows for air flow between the bed frame and the mattresses. Our prior trailer was a Jayco Hummingbird.

Thank you for this video. I am looking to purchase a new TAB 400 for work and may need to Stay in it during cold weather. Have you had to stay in yours during the cold and how did it do? Ty in advance!
We camped in it this winter for a weekend and it did well. The Alde takes awhile to heat up a cold trailer but once it gets up to temp, it does a good job. We carried a Mr. Heater propane heater to use just to get the trailer up to temp and then we let the Alde take over.
Lot of clothes for a 2 night trip....
Toilet... is there enough space for a guy to sit on the throne and take care of things comfortably...? (Old trailer, had to leave door open - no room)
There is plenty of room in the bathroom! That's one of the nice things You can actually go in, close the door and still have plenty of room. They were very smart they way they off set it back in the corner to give you more space

We loose about 8 mpg when we are towing our Tab 400. We averaged 11.5 mpg this summer. I tow at the speed limit up to 70 mph. Our 4Runner has the 4.0liter V-6 engine. We love the way it tows.
Hi Delaney... thanks for the reply. I later discovered you have a video about driving the trailer with the 4Runner. I have a 03 4Runner with 528K and also the 4.0 engine. It is running very well. Sounds like it is a comfortable pull with the 4Runner!The trailer is well built and also well thought out. The bathroom is a descent size and very function able though the sink might have a drainage issue. Nice to see a big sink. I have looked at different RV's and it is amazing how often the sink is too small to wash dishes in or there may be two small sinks... totally impractical. The dinette is one of the most comfortable I have ever sat in. A couple of comments/questions. Looks like the fridge can run five days on battery. Currently I have gone as long as three weeks without hook up... I have a tent trailer, but the fridge is on propane. I don't like the idea of carrying a generator so maybe if I go heavy duty on the solar that might work. I will need moveable panels as often we camp in trees which doesn't see a lot of sunlight. It sounds like the fridge is efficient, but having it also on propane would be helpful. Curious about the heating system. Sounds like it would take 4 or 5 hours to heat the trailer if it were freezing outside. I live in Canada and in the mountains it can be 25C during the day and 3 degrees at night in July. So heat is important. The 16,000 BTU in the tent trailer heats everything in about 10 minutes. I also want to be in a position to camp 6 months of the year meaning it could drop to -5C in the late fall or early spring. I guess Mr. Heater is a good idea. Do you feel like camping at -5C at night and maybe 5C during the day is realistic in this trailer. Would the water lines freeze or is there enough protection to handle 23F at night?Thanks for all your videos. They are extremely helpful. I am looking for a practical trailer; one that can be comfortably pulled by the 4Runner; useable 6 months of the year. Storage might be a bit of an issue with this trailer. I like to take a collapsible kayak along and I suppose it could go on the trailer floor while travelling. I see you use a roof carrier. One small trailer like this had a receiver at the back allowing for an extra storage compartment to be placed at the very back.How nice that you can see right through the trailer when driving. I have not heard back from Marvin on the windows. I sent him an email but no response yet. I will try following up again with him on those. As for the tires, I just run them at the max stated on the side of the tire
Thinking about trading in my Tab 320 for the 400. Only concern is the 2 way frig. Don't want to lose the closet though for the 3 way. Can you boondock for a few days running off the Battery? Does using solar keep it topped off enough? Good to hear an honest review. Love my 320, but finding it a bit too small.
We have found the refrigerator to be very efficient running off the battery. We boondocked for 8 nights this summer and the battery never went below 65%. I did run the generator 1 hour in the am and 1 hour in the pm to just put charge on the battery. Because we were in dense woods, I wasn't able to get much off of our solar.

We like our 400 - installed solar on the roof and never had a power issue. But our fridge is rather noisy and it for sure runs a lot. How much is your fridge on?
Do you have the 2 way or the 3 way fridge. We have the 2 way fridge. We haven't really noticed it being that noisy. It runs more the warmer outside it is. But we have been very happy with the 2 way refrigerator in our 400.
I know you feel the small microwave is a solution to having a built in microwave but it seems to me you are still taking up cabinet space plus you have to get the microwave out every time you need it. Plus, it takes up counter space. It's a solution to not having a built in, and I guess you can take it out of the camper if you want extra space but no totally a win.
You are correct that we are taking up some cabinet space however we like the option of taking it out if we need to in order to free up the space. And honestly , we like that it is tucked away were we don't see it when we don't need it. Another nice thing is I can plug it into our inverter and use it when we don't have power. We have used it several times at fuel stops to warm up dinner. A lot of it would just be personal preference as to whether you want a built in or not.
Travels with Delaney. We have not needed a microwave as we use our 3 qt Instant Pot to cook with as well as reheat foods. Just need to get creative on how to do that and be a little more patient.
Same. We bought one. Not sure we will use it. It is currently under the bed. We have an Instant Pot and Air Fryer which both fit under the sink. The Air Fryer can do almost everything a Microwave would do but better. We also have a small electric kettle from Amazon for coffee.
I had not thought about the air fryer for the 400. We have the 3qt instant pot.

We love the 4Runner as a tow vehicle. It has plenty of power and plenty of breaking. I did a video on the 4Runner I believe last fall. We couldn't; be happier with it.

I remember that you said you bought your Tab at the Bradenton, FL dealership - I took note of that since I live near there - was the NuCamp factory closer to you? Would you have as much confidence taking it to the dealership for repairs?
We actually purchased ours at Gerzeny's in Lakeland, Florida when we were on vacation last December. For us, we are only 4 hours from the factory which is about the same distance as going to a dealer so I just prefer to have the factory do the work. I can speak to Gerzeny's service as we never had anything done there.
Hi P&P, Love the review, we're still considering a 400 and been emailing the team in OH on features, future model options, etc. On the microwave, you indicated you'd lose the upper cabinet storage, but with the one you bought taking up the under cabinet storage, isn't that kind of a wash (and more hassle having to pull it out)? Maybe I missed a point. Thanks again for all your insights on the 400!
We just prefer the upper storage space as its easier for us to get into. Plus, we can leave the microwave at home if we think we are not going to need it and we can also easlily plug it into the inverter to run it while we are boondocking.

I have not. They have the ez lube fittings so I believe its a quick job. I just need to get me a grease gun and then I can tackle that one.
Yes, please make a video on this. Also I am curious if you ever lube the hitch ball and what you use. Ours is so noisy when it rains.
@@aprilmarie1829 I don't have a Tab YET, but tow a Wells Cargo for work and have about 30K on it I think, anyway I always lube the ball, I think it helps with wear, noise and I have even been told handling as if it is dry that creates a lot of friction. Does make a mess that you want to wipe off as soon as unhitching. Reese makes a grease just for this. Anderson does make a plastic coated ball that doesn't require grease, I might go that route next ball I buy.

@@TravelswithDelaney I feel it is best to do a complete bearing service rather than just pump grease in. Takes more time, but I am not convinced all the old grunge gets flushed out plus you can replace the seals and inspect the bearings too. I don't have a Tab YET but have a Wells Cargo with a Dexter axle that is similar if not the same as the 400 and parts are readily available direct from Dexter including complete new hubs if you need them for relatively reasonable pricing. I run Mobile One synthetic grease and have run 33000 trouble free miles.
Good review and you are correct about the customer service. I have called twice and each time I was helped by Marvin and Creed to work out the problems I had. Have you had problems with the shade screens when you put them up and down? they tend to bow out when I put them down. one last question where did you mounted your inverter? In the compartment on the left side of the trailer or the battery compartment next to the battery?thank you
We have had some issues with the front blind in particular. I may try to do a Take 5 on the blinds and how we handle that issue. I mounted the inverter below the bed by the battery just like the factory does if you get the solar kit from them.

No because your heat pump only works down to about 40 degrees outside. So if its below 40 out, the heat pump won't do you any good.

Hi Maggie! The NuCamp Factory is located in Sugarcreek, Ohio in the hear of Ohio Amish Country. We tow ours with our 2014 Toyota 4Runner which has a towing capacity of 5000#. Do you know what the towing capacity of your Traverse is? My guess is that you should be able to tow with it but you would want to look in your owners manual for towing capacities. The 320 is a bit smaller and a bit lighter weight but it also doesn't have a dedicated bed and a much smaller bath than the 320. We find the 400 every easy to hitch up and setup. You might consider putting on an electric jack stand to assist with setup and hitching.

do y'all run hot? how bad is it in there when dry camping with just the fans going? my wife and i run hot, we keep our A/C on 70 in the summer and turn the heat back to around 65 during the winter. looking at a camper to use at race tracks and other places etc with no hookups. some of them don't allow generator use overnight due to noise as well. of course we also plan to use it in places with hookups too.
We don't typically boondock if its too hot outside. We actually get very good air flow with the windows open and the fans going.
Is a macerator available on the T@B 400?
No, not at this time, the toilet sits right on top the black tank, which is above the camper floor. Many awners use Happy Camper additive, which breaks down solid waste material very quickly.
Weight for this trailer is 2690#. Would a vehicle that pulls 3500# be ok?
+Storytelling In Motion You’d be at the max of your towing capacity by the time you load your trailer with propane, water and supplies. We tow with a 4Runner that is rated for 5000#. I personally would be nervous being near or at maximum tow capacity.
Travels with Delaney thanks. What exactly did you do to prep the 4Runner for towing the tab? I’m clueless. I’ve heard ppl saying they had to have trailer brakes added to their vehicles. Is this something that is done to all or just under certain circumstances? Also, is it expensive to maintain the Tab? I’m worried about not being able to afford this lifestyle, which would make buying the Tab a burden later. Would you have gone with something simpler if you only planned on camping nearby? I see you use it a lot. You’re in the midwest (if I’m not mistaken). I’m in Massachusetts. You’re location is more strategic to moving to different areas. I think I’m mumbling now. It’s 4:15 A.M. and I cannot sleep with all these thoughts of the steps that I would like to take or should take. Ugh.
We installed our break controller but that was an easy install. Just a few wires to the harness that Toyota provides with the vehicle. We did add the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System to take out some rear squatting. That's really all we have done to it.
Thanks for the update! Two questions: Can you run the Alde and the heat pump at the same time to warm the camper up faster? The Alde isn’t like the truma aqua go is it? You still have to take a military shower right?
You absolutely can as they are separate systems. Just remember though that the heat pump only works down to about 40 degrees. If its colder than that outside, it won't work. We haven't ran out of hot water yet but its possible as its not like a water on demand time water heater.
