Josh will get at least 16 PPG and then be a triple double threat regularly depending on how they look in a month with draft and trades. Dude could win MIP and the lack of love for his talents is wild. I had an unpopular opinion that they should’ve traded SGA for an elite PF and let Josh pass to everyone. I know that’s insane and love SGA but I say it because Josh is an excellent PG to let the others shoot. PHX or SA would’ve fit great

The reason OKC said "well giddey wanted to be traded" is because their core group are all close friends, and they wanted to save face because their core is too close for the trades OKC will probably make over the years

2:03 there is no such thing as a safe pick when discussing the 1st overall pick. You either get it right or wrong. The first pick is supposed to be the best player. Not someone good which a safe pick is.

Here's something radically different for the Blazers:
- Portland trades #7 for OKC #12 and a '25 pick
- Portland drafts Ware at 12, Edey/Missi at 14, Bona at 34, Mogbo at 40
- Portland then tries out all four centers in the summer league and waives/trades the ones that don't pop by the roster deadline.
Logic: OKC is probably more willing now to part with one of their extra picks now that they fleeced Chicago.
Blazers draft 4 of the 5 top centers and find at least 1-2 players this draft at center who pop. They can then trade or waive the rest.
Credit is that it's different, but this is just a bad strategy

@rileymcphee9429 all of it. Thunder have all the leverage in a draft trade because they just call 6 or 8 and give less. Draft 4 bigs. Waiving 2 if them. Having 5 centers on the roster. You named 5 guys and left off 2 of the top guys but said 4 of the top 5.
@tonyschimmoeller According to ESPN's big board, the top six projected centers are Clingan, Edey, Missi, Ware, Bona & Mogbo. I mentioned all those names except Clingan, which was implied when i said "4 out of 5". I probably should've said '4 out of 6,' but that's pretty nit-pickey.
The point I'm trying to make is that it's highly likely most of these players aren't going to pop, so focusing on a single position, like center, and drafting most the top prospects to see which ones hit by the end of summer, might be a good strategy.
I seriously doubt they're going to keep Williams III, Duop, and Ayton, especially when there's been so much buzz around Portland drafting Clingan.
@tonyschimmoeller but maybe you're right, and focusing completely on just center is a bad idea.
You don't think trading down to get some of OKC's '25 picks is a good idea? I call cap on that.
I’m Portland I’m trading any of Brogdon, Simons, Thybulle, Walker, Williams and any or all 2nds this year for another lottery pick. Aiming for Knecht, Ware and De Silva.
I think Smart and #9 for Clingan at 3 would be an overpay on the Grizzlies part. They got a win now roster. They'd be way better off trading Smart for Brook Lopez straight up, then using #9 on Dalton Knecht or Ron Holland. Or trading #9 for a 3&D wing like DFS, and getting additional multiple 2nd rd picks with DFS. Ja, Bane, DFS, JJJ, Lopez would be an elite defense and Lopez is 1 of the guys in the league who can deal with Jokic somewhat. Or Ja/Bane/Holland/JJJ/Lopez if they want to still have a top 8-10 defense with more offensive upside
Reed Sheppard is a classic "high efficiency on low volume" player that analytics people love to hype up every draft. If Reed Sheppard is so good, why didn't he get the ball more? I'm sure he'll be a solid NBA player, but it's crazy that people are thinking about him for #1 overall.
Edey will be a Spur at pick 4
And Knecht will be the pick 8
Wemby is the perfect player to help hide Edey's possible handicaps.
No team will have an answer for both at the same time.
At face value it is a weak draft. I find of interest that at the beginning of the season just about every draft analyst had Collier as either 1-3 an now he is in the mid 20s . If it is a weak draft then perhaps some lottery team may trade up to the Wizards or Hawks to get Shepherd .

Josh Giddey will be nice for the bulls
OKC has to re-sign Caruso who's in the last year of his deal unless they just let him walk after the 2024-season. The Bulls having a Colby White/Josh Giddy backcourt for the next six years could be a good thing; they're both tall they can trap &go zone. Giddy could be a better player than Caruso in two years so I don't think the Bulls got robbed cuz they traded away a player in his 30's in the last year of his contract; for a young playmaker that can help them for several years to come
The Hawks clearly need a wing that trae can play with or a big.
With the draft so light it might better to trade trae now and see what Murray can do as the point guard. I see trae as a better play maker potentially but most pgs are scorers now. I don't see anything changing with the hawks with him there shoots to much and like LeBron his passing style is based on how he scores not necessarily on being a coaches player who can run plays or a system and at his size to me that doesn't work unless you are LeBron Luka previously Ben Simmons had that potential or a guy like Gianni's who was more of a point forward before he really developed his scoring style.
Nikola Topić will be the best player from this draft.

ROAD........ 143 blocks..... 71 steals
So Hakeem had similar massive inflation of home stats in 90', just like Alvin Robertson in 86', and MJ in 88'... But this extreme inflation were one-offs that could've occurred due to personal issues that affected their home/road performance... Otherwise, their other years have the standard "normal" inflation that occurred in previous eras due to tougher road conditions (no days off, no private jets, etc) and the subsequent poor road records compared to today's teams.. Only 2 teams had .500 records on the road in 1988, while half the league does today (15 teams).
To summarize, the "normal' inflation of home stats in previous eras was due to the tougher road environments and significantly worse road records that teams had back then, while the abnormal one-offs of massive home inflation like 90' Hakeem, 88' Jordan, or 86' Robertson are likely due to personal issues that affected home and road play.. Carry on.
Windy always has the info. I disagree on Sarr . There are only 3 legitimate stretch 5”s in the NBA. We need to do a more honest evaluation and stop the madness.

You know, everybody is going over Josh Giddy with the fine tooth comb, but ignoring Alex Caruso's downsides.
He has a habit of getting injured and his three-point shooting is not what I would call reliable season to season.
I love the dude, as a bulls fan, but they were times the previous year where he just wasn't hitting the shot that you needed him to hit.
People will say that that's not what he's out there for, but when you combine that with his propensity for getting injured, it's a thing. I'm just looking for the whole picture.
I looked at it this way. At the deadline last year would the Thunder have traded Giddey for a 1st this year from say the Wizards? I don't think so. Would they have for 2? Maybe but still questionable. So Caruso essentially got traded for 2 first round picks which is what everyone wanted him to be traded for.

They got some good talents like Sengun, Green and Thompson, Smith at cheap contracts. So they can build a very competitive, high depth squad with their significant remaining cap space.

They’re a fun team especially cause they have cap space but my goal for them would to be figure out which guys are real keepers going forward between Sengun, Jabari, Amen, Green, Whitemore, etc
@@mahomie3017 I agree with you they're lacking the star quality to be a true contender and clearly there isn't any superstars on the market, but I never discount the pressure that ownership puts on teams given HOU have been out the playoff for quite a while. Plus at some point, the West is so strong you need to be aggressive to get past all the teams ahead of them.
Best hope I realistically see HOU doing what NYK did last year and get a first round win capitalising on their good depth

I don't know why these people think that Sarr's people thin he would not have a big role on the Hawks. If Sarr is as good as he thinks he is, then he could become the Hawks next franchise player. I do not think Trae Young is long for Atlanta and I have felt this way for the past two years. Also, the Hawks relative to other organizations are not in cap hell. Another lie.
