Discarding upgrade card is in the rulebook already . Ewoks will discard upgrade but not defeat mini, p.17: If an Upgrade Card that adds a miniature to a unit is discarded, but the miniature is not defeated, the miniature is not removed, but the unit can no longer use or benefit from any rules on the discarded Upgrade Card.
I really appreciate the logical, analytical analysis that you give these cards, but my favorite part is you focus on having fun with him. I’ve already pre-ordered four, and Wicket and Logray and my whole goal is just to go crazy with murder, teddy bears on the table top, just for fun😄😄😄
I think it's okay to have units for fluff as opposed to viability. Some matches need to be more than just min/maxing. Do some themed battles and have fun.
I really like the insatiable curiosity upgrade card for its thematic element, replicating when Wicket stole the bike and crashed it in Return of Jedi. But I do agree that more clarification is needed cause it sounds like it could be a pretty OP card like you were talking about, especially when it comes to heavy upgrades and some training upgrades as well.
Thank you for your clear and informative content. You’ve answered many of my questions as I’ve recently been exploring and taking the dive into Legion.
I just love the Minis! Regarding the insatible curiosity: When you remove the upgrade card, the mini stays but can only use the weapons of the unit. And for the timing in my opinion it does not need more clarification. It is not an action (no action symbols whatsoever) and you can use it any time the conditions are met. You made an example when the ewoks would be charged then you can use this card. i think it works exactly like that. Similar to force barrier which is also used during the opponents turn when he shoots at your units. I say it is an interrupt.
I think that you can use the upgrade card whenever you want but it doesnt kill the mini when its a heavy, it just blows up his weapon so he can use the standard weapon that all the unit has
I believe they said you need a trapper to use the log command card so you need at least one in the list if you want to use that card. I think the insatiable curiosity card just converts a heavy to a standard trooper. I think making it a free action would make it cleaner and still usable.
Effective or not, I'm looking forward to running these. Especially want to do an overwhelming ewok swarm against some specialist imperials in the upcoming event kit scenario :D
The whole time I was thinking about how to get these murder bears in range and then then it hit me, hopefully their size will give the extra cover to block LOS with the use of a barricade compare to just the standard cover 1 for a normal unit to add to the thematic theme of them just busting out of cover
I'll be playing these on a thematic battlefield with a lot of large, heavy trees that would hinder vehicle movement. Still, curious if they will ever fare well, but the play testing must have been successful. I wonder if there will be Ewok expansions past this first release?
Shatterpoint kinda comes out 2nd June in the UK, but not if you ordered it online and won't be collecting it from a bricks and mortar store. Asmodee strikes again, can this company do anything right?
Ewoks look cool, but not sure I'm excited enough to get a full list of them. May get just a few to use as mercs with Rebels but I suppose it still depends on how much each expansion will cost and what the Ewok Battleforce will be like as a whole.
Thanks for the insights, Crabbock. These little cannibals seem to be about right in my mind - cheap, volume-based builds, with the ability to throw the opponent's force into disarray through some unusual tactics. My guess is they will be more fun to play than they will be competitive, and that's okay. Speaking for myself, I play Legion to have fun first and to build/copy the most competitive lists last. Seeing that AMG isn't afraid to make lower powered units that are interesting and offer some unique choices makes me excited for the Genosians and whatever future "ancestories" we get (Gungans, Twi'lek Resistance, etc.). And for anyone at AMG reading, how about a Hondo and his band of scurrilous space marauders? Please? PRETTY PLEASE?!
I think the ewok skirmishers are terrain dependent. They really need thick forest so that they can get up-close to skirmish without being shot at, making maximum use of low profile and cover. :)
I'm very excited for these little guys. I'll play them just for the fun factor. For the Ewok Axe, would that melee attack work against vehicles if there is no primitive keyword?
Feel like we need more information but so far seems like you have to have them in the right spot to be effective. I think there needs to be a bow and arrow upgrade for the specialist. No point of running an axe with them
Can’t wait to play them and i really hope that they come out with rebels on speeders or maybe they do what they did with Chewie and put luke and leia on speeders i think that would be cool
I'm kind of guessing for the Battleforce that there will be some sort of limit of "you must take one unit of Ewok Skirmishers for every unit of Ewok Slingers you wish to take," up to a certain maximum of course. Would put more context around the reduced price of the Slingers. Also, is it just me or do their heavy and personnel upgrades seem inflated? A lot of heavy weapons are costed around that same point, but they tend to provide more dice and/or keywords, and at a range. It may be compensating for their otherwise lower model/point cost, but it seems like a lot. Not that I don't think they're worth taking, just oddly expensive.
its a pity the insatiable curiosity upgrade card doesn't work on non unique cards i would love to see an Ewok steal the dark Sabre and become the ruler of Mandalore, probably only for few moments through, before accidentally ignited it while staring at the emitter, but seriously i hope this card can be used freely anytime it would justify the high points for the Ewok units
Im not sure how I feel about them, but you could have a ton of Ewoks, they might be able to swarm the enemy, I think if they are in a Forest, they would work well. Im going to still get the max you can get cant wait
I wish the ewoks were supper scary in melee, or benefitted from cover better to get them in close, as is it really seems that the melee will just be a tax, they should be the best melee units that aren't force characters
For X-wing, I run double YV-666 all the time. I lose everytime but gosh I have a good time doing it. Wargames are best when you're enjoying the jank and sillyness you can bring to the tabletop.
I don’t think there’s any problem with allowing the timing to be at any time and not need an action. Making it take an action, or even a free action, makes it too likely you’ll never get to use it. Most things that are melee focused wouod charge in and kill the Ewoks first, especially any Jedi, so allowing it to react to an opponents charge makes sense
I would like to se more of a mayor faction than supporter for existing factions. Is cool they keep only 4 factions and almost all new units can be 2 factions but it seem the factions are losing too much personality.
I'm just thinking here. Ewoks will want to get into melee and will have several squads running. I think a strong gunline can be a good counter. But they will have a better time doing objectives.
I'm still Meh about the Ewoks... I don't really know what I was expecting. It isn't like they should be as good as regular Rebel Troopers, but I just don't really see a use for them outside of an all Ewok team. It seams like you are going to have to purchase a lot of sets to make up a full team.
Discarding upgrade card is in the rulebook already . Ewoks will discard upgrade but not defeat mini, p.17:
If an Upgrade Card that adds a miniature to a unit is discarded, but the miniature is not defeated, the miniature is not removed, but the unit can no longer use or benefit from any rules on the discarded Upgrade Card.
Thanks!
Not a legion player but it's cool to see the Ewoks finally appearing. It's a shame they never appeared in Imperial Assault.
Ewoks look like a fun addition. Hoping this can breath life into the local game scene...
I really appreciate the logical, analytical analysis that you give these cards, but my favorite part is you focus on having fun with him. I’ve already pre-ordered four, and Wicket and Logray and my whole goal is just to go crazy with murder, teddy bears on the table top, just for fun😄😄😄

Ewoks are the dark trooper counters we need. Not the dark trooper counters we deserve 😂
I love that an Ewok can take away an enemy Ewok’s axe
Thank you for your clear and informative content. You’ve answered many of my questions as I’ve recently been exploring and taking the dive into Legion.
Ewok Gliders and Catapults are what i'd love to see made for this battle force.
17:35 the heavy weapon miniature remains and uses the default weapon.
It’s in the core rule book on page 17. Top left blue paragraph.
just getting into legion, the info here has always been helpful to figure things out. Excited to also give shatter point a try.
I love these Chuck Norris build-a-bears. Thank you for emphasizing to just have fun vs trying to make the most competitive build.
For Call to Arms, I would rather it give 1 Suppression to any enemy unit within Range 1-2 of the unit.
So exited for them. Exited for the battle forese. I'll be running them in evey list
Thanks for posting and information. Looking forward to adding these killer teddy bears to my collection.
Great video. I had not noticed the Slingers were Special Forces. Great point out!
7:08 Wicket’s sling has primitive.
I think these will be really fun to have in legion, can’t see them competitively but I can’t wait to have some fun with these myself!
I just love the Minis!
Regarding the insatible curiosity: When you remove the upgrade card, the mini stays but can only use the weapons of the unit.

I'm in the process of 3d printing an ewok village, very much looking forward to playing these, even if it's impossible to win with them.
I believe they said you need a trapper to use the log command card so you need at least one in the list if you want to use that card.
I think the insatiable curiosity card just converts a heavy to a standard trooper. I think making it a free action would make it cleaner and still usable.
Thanks for the updates on the Ewoks! Very excited for them
Glad to see Ewoks. I’m old enough to have enjoyed them when I was a kid.
I really like the flavor with these guys! I also like the discard upgrade card mechanic. I feel like it should work exactly as written
Quite happy to see that i was right with my guess i had before that primitive means a weapon cant go through armor even if you roll a crit
Great video, man. Definitely enjoy the content. Thanks for bringing these to life.
Finally some love for Ewoks! I can’t wait for them to come in.
Fully equipped skirmishers could be quite scary. 7 black dice and 1 red + pierce 1 + destroying the opponents upgrade is no joke.
White defence dice without surges, 1 courage, no scale, no charge - this is definitely joke for melee unit
I suspect insatiable curiosity is simply used whenever you like and the conditions are met.
I'll be playing these on a thematic battlefield with a lot of large, heavy trees that would hinder vehicle movement. Still, curious if they will ever fare well, but the play testing must have been successful. I wonder if there will be Ewok expansions past this first release?

Asmodee strikes again, can this company do anything right?
I will get them for Imperial Assault. Would be great to have them for some small endor home made campaign with home made cards.
Can’t wait to see them in games!
Ewoks look cool, but not sure I'm excited enough to get a full list of them. May get just a few to use as mercs with Rebels but I suppose it still depends on how much each expansion will cost and what the Ewok Battleforce will be like as a whole.
I wonder if there will be any other Ewok expansions down the road. Maybe some terrain 👀👀
I’m really interested in how rebels on bikes will play into the Endor battles…and I’m betting bright tree has a log smash/trap super power
One of the Bright Tree Village command cards is the Log Trap
Thanks for the insights, Crabbock.

I really like what they're doing with the unit-specific training upgrades. It's very thematic and I hope we see something similar with the Geonosians.
Very excited to make an all Ewok list
Do you know if there are any other Ewok Units?, I thought there would be at least a Catapult and Ewok glider.
They look very nice. Definitely considering to pick them up.
I feel like the Ewoks will be like a game of tag where your opponent is doing everything they can to not be touched or their upgrades will break
I'm kind of guessing for the Battleforce that there will be some sort of limit of "you must take one unit of Ewok Skirmishers for every unit of Ewok Slingers you wish to take," up to a certain maximum of course. Would put more context around the reduced price of the Slingers.

Thanks for vid. Looking forward to ShatterPoint.
Can’t wait for ewok hunting season to open!
I foresee tables full of 7-mini Ewok units in the near future.
Looking forward to these!
So excited for these!!!!
I hope they have a battle force box as it seems like you need at least 6 sets
They look cool!! Great vid
They get the suppression on the charge because their tiring their little bodies out after all that movement
I'm pretty sure it's because they're drawing attention to themselves which isn't their usual mo.
I think Call to Arms is a little better at second glance. Since the melee Ewoks have low profile, it’s basically granting them heavy cover!
Tremble in fear of the mini crab!
I bet you that they will release a range Ewok box squad sometime after theses
I hope to have a lot of fun with the Ewoks no matter if they are really strong or not!
I did not notice that that slinger are special forces.
C3PO finally hits the table
its a pity the insatiable curiosity upgrade card doesn't work on non unique cards i would love to see an Ewok steal the dark Sabre and become the ruler of Mandalore, probably only for few moments through, before accidentally ignited it while staring at the emitter, but seriously i hope this card can be used freely anytime it would justify the high points for the Ewok units

So pumped to have some ewoks smashing plastisteel!
I'm very curious myself as to what this whole battle force will look like
Im not sure how I feel about them, but you could have a ton of Ewoks, they might be able to swarm the enemy, I think if they are in a Forest, they would work well. Im going to still get the max you can get cant wait
Love the video!
With that much space on the cards, they could write down the rules for those keywords, there are so much keywords, I can't remember all of it
Definitely like the slingers but I think the core unit is a little lack luster I guess we will just have to wait and see how they do on the table
I wish the ewoks were supper scary in melee, or benefitted from cover better to get them in close, as is it really seems that the melee will just be a tax, they should be the best melee units that aren't force characters
So excited for them.
Looking forward!
So excited about the ewoks
Murder Bears! Murder Bears!
Hyped for Ewoks!
I hope I win the Shatterpoint box! 🤩🤩🤩 Love your “hello there” and content!
For X-wing, I run double YV-666 all the time. I lose everytime but gosh I have a good time doing it. Wargames are best when you're enjoying the jank and sillyness you can bring to the tabletop.

Gotta love the murder bears!!!
Just need the Battleforce rules now so I know how many murder bears I need.

Impact grenades and flame throwers
That's the new meta
nice video. Thank you.
Hope they come out with more shadow collective units
I agree. Ewoks feel like fan bait. They look like fun, but not sure I would take these care bears into battle.
they look like they will be fun and janky. might actually have to play Rebels with them!!
YES EWOKS!!! Love these little guys!
They had better add 3p0 flying in the chair it’d be kinda funny
👍
Give a thermal detonator to an Ewok and tell them to go hug a Stormtrooper.
cant wait for the Ewoks
I'm still Meh about the Ewoks... I don't really know what I was expecting. It isn't like they should be as good as regular Rebel Troopers, but I just don't really see a use for them outside of an all Ewok team. It seams like you are going to have to purchase a lot of sets to make up a full team.
Love them!
Thanks for the breakdown/update!
This may sound crazy, but I look forward to murdering droves of teddy bears! Lol
Murder bears love it.
