Encoder is not a sad song anymore! The whole album Immersion, and especially this song helped me a lot to get trough the process of my dad passing away back in 2010. Thank You Pendulum!!!!!! See you in Glasgow in 2024! 😁
Sorry for loss of your dad. This song is one that even to today the lyrics hit home whether end of a relationship or the passing of friends and relatives.
Rob is a musical genius. He created a brand new genre 13 years ago and only success has happened. Pendulum are one of the most unique bands around. See them live and sleep when you are dead.

I never heard this song to be performed live, Rob singing without his Z-tar And on top of all, Pendulum having switched to Hardstyle for this one ??? WHAT A SURPRISE !!! 💙
It is insane seeing Pendulum making a comeback like this. I LOVE the new tracks and fuck yeah, make Encoder a happy song. It's always been a perfect closing track for a set.
I can't stop wishing everyday for yo uto announce a show that I have the posssibility to see you again.... last time was 2010 in Munich, still just one of the best memories I have
He must feel so uncomfortable without his midi guitar. I recall him saying ways ago that he hated the live thing. Maybe now hes older he is enjoying it more.
I kinda love to see him get a bit more comfortable at moving around and playing around with the vocals, but I gotta admit that he kinda looks a bit awkward walking around on stage. But I'm sure he'll grow into it
I'm surprised to see him being more talkative; I've always known him as that guy who is quiet and reserved around anyone that isn't asking him anything technical or isn't a personal friend of his....of course I might just be projecting myself a little bit there 😂.
@@MythicSuns Imo you could see at their Reading live act in 2022 that Rob is more outgoing now. I think some user also wrote that he stated he'd feel more comfortable with improvising on stage today :)
In the documentary they just released, they said they were enjoying the live shows because they could actually focus on playing, instead of worrying about the computers and gear etc
@@Dragonisser Makes me wonder; maybe Rob made a double meaning out of saying the song is more of a "happy" tune now. El Hornet is really into producing happy hardcore, so the theory holds some potential!
Won't lie, they took one of my all time favourite songs by them and butchered the living hell out of it Saying that I still can't wait to see them live on Friday 🔥
It's not even so much hardstyle. More a slightly alternative happy hardcore, with a more psy-style kick. If this is the start of Pendulum going in the SEFA/Dr. Peacock direction, where hard dance is mixed with contemporary instruments, I'm all on board. But I can see how a band would look at the crowds at events like DEFQON and think "Damn, we could put on such a good show with that stage." Especially considering their Aussie background. All they need to do is mix up the kicks a little, get some variation, even if it's just a real, heavy kick for the anti-climax.

WTF, that Hardstyle part was insane
2:44 Rob cheering up the crowd and jumping 😭🖤🖤🖤 something I never thought would happen
Lol. What he gives up in stage presence, he makes up for with his pure talent. And we love him even more for that. No cheese, just tunes.
SHOCKKKK
I WAS WAITING FOR 10 YEARS
So he could stop shying
ROB FINALLY SPEAKS AGAIN
Rob Swire is fast becoming icon material. His voice gives me goosebumps every time.
Awesome video, thanks for posting! Cool to see Rob walking around and dancing like that
