Oh, my god! My mother tongue is Russian, and i know a little bit English. I've listened for about half an hour and i'm in awe of Sephen Fry's language. How can such a beautiful language flow so easily, so effortlessly from his mouth? He's a real artist! May you be happy, genius of language and philosophy!

Lovely man. These appearances are truly a delight, and Fry remains a relevant and sustaining presence onscreen. Thank you for making this one available!

It almost seems like Tim is fighting tears while Stephen talks so beautifully and knowledgeably. All I want to say is that I also was nearly moved to tears. Such eloquence is rarely witnessed these days. Thank you.

Love the last section about the Regency period. During our (brief) Lock down in New Zealand, I read Pride and Prejudice to my children: as we were (briefly) the idle class, being paid (80%) by our government, with leasure time to read, take gentle walks, and persue artistic hobbies. :)

Thank you. That was so satisfying! Love Stephen's use of the English language. His wisdom is altruistic and warm....for me. His life story, very real.

Absolutely, Stephen. Let the audience work out and make sense of the moral of the myths, legends, and fables without spoon-feeding, lecturing or sermonizing them. I too have rewritten and retold and elaborated on the Jataka Tales with the aim of improving the poor and watered-down English translation (and have removed the awful karmic moral at the end). Interested? I should gladly share my work.

I will never forget in Mythos - just before the intermission - of that terrifying bird that was ostensibly after Prometheus’ liver - flying straight at the audience! How relevant can myth get?!!!!!

Some of us here in Savannah suspect that Stephen could easily be the reincarnation or recreation of Oscar Wilde. Fascinating to consider the connection for obvious and maybe even more subtle affinities.

Are you familiar with Eberhard Zangger's work "The Flood from Heaven"? His demythifying Atlantis and of the Deluge(s) and of the expurgated and warped knowledge of history (possibly to drown the traumas we suffered, but also to veil the next cyclic cataclysms, namely that which is to come in 2040 as Jason Breshears will unveil)? Worth looking into Archaix.

Interesting discussion - I would like to get at that core element however that makes, for example, Conon Doyle's writing so intriguing - is it not just that he places man or the "best of man" at the center of what makes the universe go around? The complexity and beauty of language is to me almost like the fancy clothes that a queen or leader puts on - while underneath its just a biological organism thats being covered with pieces of cotton. Putting man at the helm, helps us to avoid addressing our utter helplessness - and our reluctance to admit the stunning beauty of creation all around us.

Like so many of us I would suggest that he was subject to the insecurities and uncertainties of the time, and this manifested in his appearance and manner. He is certainly a man of great feeling and emotion.

To interpret the Ancient words of The Mahayana
This is a topic that needs consideration , not everyone has the opportunity to translate great works.
All timeless stories, books need to be honoured by those interpreting.
Interpreting from a purely logical perspective will miss all the other perspectives of the audience who
Are there to stop thinking 🤔 for a while.

He's a senile old fellow, but that is certainly more adult than the tantrum throwing toddler. Neither US party is fit for purpose and in each case the worst excesses of their policies become embodied in their figureheads
