I think some designs choose to put the LED on the back, with the thinking that most people will be using the cube near where they're sleeping, and the LED might be kinda annoying in that situation.
Yeah true but make it ambient like most chargers like this does.
This is exactly what I was thinking.. I like it on the back. The devices will let you know right away if there's power when you put one on.
I have this .The light only turns on when the AirPods is charging.
Not me but my 80 year old father has a sensitivity to light when he goes to bed at night.

This is such an amazing charger and feels so premium. It's so compact it takes such little space that even though I don't travel it was the choice for me. It replaced my belkin pro pad right away and It also charges my apple watch pretty fast, so it's definetly using fast charging for it.

I don't mind where the LED is. Not only is it good in a bedside table situation, I think the LED is on the back because it only comes on briefly & then dims when you first plug it in and when you're using the non-MagSafe wireless charging pad. And if you're charging your phone, the phone would block the LED anyways. I love the size of it, I'd use it as my travel charger. Great vid!
Yeah that's true it doesn't stay on so that works but they could've put it on the front and made it ambient I feel.

I was waiting so long for this product to come back in stock from anker but I got tired of waiting and decided to look for something else and came across the journey 3 and 1 charger and I couldn’t be happier and with the discount I got it around $90. Both products are good and can’t go wrong with both. The anker charger would of been great for travel tho.

I currently have the Belkin 3-in-1 charger and my AirPods (gen 3) get and stay really warm - this seems to be an issue with this particular charger (this is my second one, after exchanging recently.) I'm thinking of exchanging the Belkin for this one. * Update *: I just purchased this and confirmed with an infrared thermometer (before and after) - every charging area is 20 degrees F warmer (with an iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 6 and AirPods 3.) 😔
I think LED is on the back, to not shine in your eyes in bed.
So it has a light, and in the dark I think you will be able to see if from the front, but if it shines, it’s not bothering you on the front.

In regards to the LED in the back and not in the front. Makes more sense since the IPhone basically makes it disappear once on the cube. You still wouldn’t be able to see it. I would recommend to put the LED around the bottom like they have it on there 2in1 cylinder shape charging station. It would glow once on the charger. I have the cube and the cylinder and live them both!

Hi, Tee! I have a question for you if you don't mind. I bought the Cube for an Iphone 15 pro max but it charged it from 20% to 80% in 2h.06 min. How is this fast charging? Wired, with a Thunderbolt 3 cable, the phone charged in 44 minutes. I don't understand how there can be such a significant gap between the two. Thanks!
This is a bit late, but I am also using the Pitaka Case (with built-in magnets) on my Airpods Pro 2, and I am finding that when I put the Airpods Pro 2 on the wireless charger (non-magsafe) it doesn't actually charge and it shows an orange LED. I left it on there overnight and my Airpods Pro 2 case was not charged at all. However when I take the Pitaka case off, it works fine. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Anker’s always made amazing charging applications, and I’ve also heard mostly good things about their headphones. If it wasn’t for the hefty price tag, this would be something I’d get.

As far as the LED being on the back- All 3 (iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods) have on board visual and audible indicators to let you know that it's connected so you really don't need an LED on the charger itself other than to let you know it's drawing power, and having it on the back keeps any lights from distracting you in the dark.
I always got burned with using Anker’s 3in1 because it just did not charge my AirPods Pro. It was so finicky with that qi pad even though they made it for the AirPods case shape. Nowadays my 3in1 has MagSafe for both phone and AirPods

This is one of those things you want but don’t need. If I had money to burn I’d have one in every room. It would be nice to have a charger with adjustable power; if I’m in no hurry it could trickle charge but in a pinch it could be turned up to 20 watts.

I kind of like the LED on the back because it could get distracting at night if it’s bright. Some accessories have an LED that will light up the whole room, so I kind of get why they did that.

The LED in the back is a win, some people may use it on their nightstands and the light may be a bother. I got one from amazon for like $30 and I HATE seeing the light from across the room. Terrible.
I know the one I bought may not charge as fast as the anker one, BUT, the bottom (where the airpods are supposed to charge) can charge another iphone. So my stand charges 2 iphones and an apple watch at the same time each night. I love it. My earbuds and watch dont need to be plugged daily so this makes a lot of sense for me.
I wonder if this cube can do the same.

This thing might also charge your electric toothbrush lol. I saw on reddit that electric toothbrushes, from more brands than one, could be charged using the pixel watch charger, so it might also work with the airpods or apple watch wireless charger. That would be dope for travel

Will this charge a Samsung Galaxy watch 5 Pro? I know I can get the magsafe to work with my S23 Ultra and I'm assuming the charge pad will also do my Galaxy buds 2 Pro. My only concern is the watch. Can anyone confirm or deny if this will work?
You can't change the watch with the watch charger on this unit.
You can charge your S23U via wireless on the main top pad, just have to get alignment right and you can charge your buds with either pad.

Damn, cool device, albeit expensive for my liking. I would totally use this, if it had a Galaxy Watch charger (and if it wasn't so expensive lol). I have a magsafe ring sticker thing on my S22 so I could totally use this with my Samsung ecosystem, phone, galaxy buds, galaxy watch
Are you saying that this will not charge a Samsung Galaxy watch 5 Pro? That's the only Samsung component that I'm concerned about because I know the other two will work.
Cool product, but the Apple Watch charger charges my ultra 2 so slow. I had to go back to using the charger that came with the watch.
LED in the front would be very obnoxious at night when you are trying to sleep. Honestly I'd prefer no LED at all since checking your phone is sufficient to determine if the power is connected. I always put tapes over any LED if a charger came with it.

almost all my charging gadgets are from Anker and I just got this cube a few minutes ago but was disappointed with the magnetic strength.
mine definitely wasnt able to carry the cube using the magnetic force.
If this was also a power bank - it would be the best travel charger period.

LED on the back is where it should be. I don't want that thing lighting up the room when I'm trying to sleep. I'd be putting tape over it if it was on the front. Better yet take it out completely

No it has to be plugged in via type c.
The device lets you know ours plugged in when you set it in the charger. “Ding” is the sound my phone, watch, and AirPods make.
