Hi Dan, the "L" mode works with a dead battery as maximum recuperation. When the battery is fully charged, the internal combustion engine starts and brakes the engine without recuperation. I have a Kuga 2.5 Hybrid 4x4 (2022) and long-term consumption is 5.77l/100km
I checked out the PHEV ST-Line X which is priced equaly to the Active X version as there are only some styling diferences. It costs around 43600 eur with all the possible nice extras and dealer discounts. The only thing this car is missing is ventilated seats. The exterior looks decent and from the options and technology point of view, this car seems like good value, however in my opinion, the biggest downside of this car is its interior look and feel. Either you have not checked out the interiors of a Mazda CX-5 or a Kia Sportage or even an MG eHS either you are extremely biased towards this car... In my opinion, asking the same amount of money as those mentioned vehicles (which are similarly priced) with this interior cannot make this car a success...The interior simply looks and feels cheap for the asking price. I would only buy this car of I didn't have other options as far as interiors go.
Nice video, Dan, as always. As far as I know the 2.5 engine is built in cooperation with Mazda and the hybrid system is from Toyota. Probably the eCvt also. So the question for me is why to take Ford and not the Toyota Rav4 which is with great reliability. And the price will be similar. By the way the car sounds like rav4.
Similar price in which region? I'm waiting on a fully kitted model here in RO (Graphite Tech trim), at ~37K. A comparable RAV4 is 50K+, easily. L.E. 54.830,44 EUR, and there's no wiggle room with Toyota nowadays.
Yes, depends on the region. Here in Bulgaria Ford are unnecessary expensive and the difference in the price of mid levels is something like 2k more for Toyota. But 10 years warranty of the battery. Anyway Ford kuga hybrid is for me the most interesting suggestion from Ford from many years.
Even if the system seems to be similar to the ones from Toyota they are setup little differently… it is pretty good but when you drive the feeling is different. I like that is very efficient and not noisy… is also cheaper than Toyota … but not as smooth… hard to say
@@SDADanCars They are very different engines. This is essentially a Mazda L family 2.5 naturally aspirated motor with port fuel injection (not direct) so the valves remain clean. SkyActiv-G is the follow-up, but uses GDI... plenty of videos around with baked valves after just two years of use.
E aproape identica cu cea de la Toyota RAV4, au niste licente la comun. Deci in esenta, e tanc. Vezi clipurile lui Vlad de la Atelierul de Detailing pe model.

Thanks for info 🙏👍 You are right. Smart system
Nice presentation, thanks, please continue
Thank you for the video dan
Thanks also 🙏🤗
5,7L/100 km is absolutely insane for a such a heavy vehicle and 2.5L engine.
Are you sure those specs are correct ?
You write:
AWD/183hp/8.3sec 0-100
On Fords homepage top model has:
FWD/243hp/7.3sec 0-100
Yea from what i remember… is the new model facelift… also depends on on country
Hey Dan..ive ordered an active phev ..hopefully even better acceleration than the full hybrid?
@@jaysen704 yup! 7.4 to 100 km/h
Will there be new Hyundai I20 N Line 2024 on review?
Yes 👍
Is it me or do hear a rattling noice when driving? I hope this is not normal?

The hybrid system is not from Toyota - they took inspiration from it but did it their own way.

for some reason 2019 version still looks better
Ford 🇺🇸 vs 🇯🇵 Honda
Ford needs to change their logo, it's outdated and makes it look cheap
😁
