What foreigners think about us, we really don't care. Malaysians love their country and are proud to be part of a nation that is known for its diversity, unity, and shared values.
@fuadarif4056 Do you mean criticism from western countries? To me, before they criticise us, they better mind their own business. We can see today why their country collapsed. You should ask yourself this question: Why are they seeking for another country to live in harmony and peace?
KL can be overwhelming & too modern for some tourist. I knew of an ex-Expat who worked in Malaysia back in 1990's and came back to visit KL. He was surprised how fast it progressed, new skylines, transportations, etc. He felt more at home, nostalgic with slower pace of Ipoh, Taiping and other smaller towns. Come over to Kuching or Kota Kinabalu on the island of Borneo and feel the difference.
Having been to KK and Kuching a couple of months ago in Borneo, I agree that KK is quieter but Kuching is just a little less busy then KL. it’s a big place but so organised :)
Kuala Lumpur has many faces. I have been there many times. But the old city center is now in a severe state of deterioration. Bukit Bintang is still OK though. This summer I stayed in a hotel in Brickfields in KL and it seems the chinese population is moving out and is replaced by indians.
If you don’t like the big smoke: give Penang a miss and do Bukit Mertajam 👌🏻 All the old school shophouses of Georgetown and none of the gentrification 👍🏻 then you can hop on the train to go north from there
"Vibrant modern waterfront" Kuching's is far better. Pub crawl sounds like a great idea. You earned it. Central Market area is where I usually stay, lots of homeless around there at nighttime. Chinatown in KL is very overrated, it's more just a market for counterfeit goods. Bangkok's is far better. And we also saw many, many more ill maintained buildings of historical interest is this vlog. Such a shame.
If you see the progress between peninsular Malaysia and kuching, sarawak governments gets things done and quick. Meanwhile, kl river of life has had funds taken away and been delayed numerous times... So it is obvious who takes the cake. Sarawak didn't even bothered to wait for funds from peninsular side before planning and now construction their ART system for their city.
@@olderbackpacker you went to the old KL railway station, the old merdeka square , the old mosque, the old central market and then chinatown , all are built the the 19th century and expect to be blown away?🤣🤣
Why stay 3 days in KL our modern city if you are not interested in our develop city?? Move on get a move on and dont waste your visa days. Go to smaller towns and enjoy yr hearts content on derelict sites. We malaysians built our country for malaysians to enjoy not for foreigners. Sorry we do not want to get left behind like the UK. If you think we shd preserve our heritage buildings ( we we do agree), then guests shd help pump in the Ringgits to maintain & upkeep it. Our funds are spread to other needs according to priority mate. Your heritage castles too in the UK have some been left in derelict state if I am not wrong. I suspect you are a little bit left in the COLONIAL mindset. Anyway stay well & hope your remaining days as a GUEST of Malaysia will be more of an enjoyable eye/mind opener to local food, culture and hospitality. 🌺🇲🇾

I totally agree with you that Malaysia is a country that is loved by its citizens :)
Wrong. We do care. From there we improved what ever can be improved on. Criticism is good.

As you move up north, it's monsoon/rainy season. You can check the weather on MET Malaysia. ❤❤
I check the weather apps (all 3 of them) every day lol
The highest flag pole in Malaysia and South East Asia is at Kuching Waterfront.....
I think I said in the video it’s one of the highest in the world. The one on Kuching is enormous and cost so much money!!!!
St john cathedral is also near masjid jamek... On the hill nearby the kl tower.
On my list mate :)

Brickfield is alway predominently filled with Malaysian Indians since Independence ( 1957).😊What are talking about mate?🤔🤔
Do visit bukit bintang area... Nice snow effect at 8pm daily near pavilion mall
At least the rain makes it cooler 😅
And gives me reminders of UK lol
Are you going Perak, mate? Taiping looks v v interesting and Ipoh Old Town
I am still working out a bit of a route and it changes every day :)

It looks like you recorded this video in Dhaka, with a whole lot of Bangladeshi people around you, probably around 90%. Crazy eh
😮😮😮
What will you enjoy, Suria KLCC or Sunway Pyramid or even the latest, Dinasour Park. 😂
Dinosaur park??? I need to check that out!

It's's obvious who uses the funds wisely, you mean
@@iantravels2406lol good laugh
I was expecting to be blown away, thinking it would be similar to Kuching but a little bit disappointed :/

You’re a very thin-skinned nationalist aren’t you..
Lighten up son
Hi OB, if you come to Labuan Borneo, please contact me. I'll take you around during the weekend or on a holiday.
I was in Labuan 2 months ago. Wish I had known!
