I love this man. He made me realize that on top of eating lots of plant foods, having already cut out added sugars, I needed to go vegan too and stop consuming all the fat I used to eat. Olive oil, coconut oil in my coffee, butter and fats in meat. Keto not only didn't improve my health, it ruined it further. I'm now, finally, regaining weight, putting on muscle mass, and feeling better in general.

ew keto no go. Keto might be ok if you're lifting weights - you need fat to keep from bruising, but carbs are for everyday usage! If you exercise likely you eat enough calories to allow for the same amount of carbs as a regular day - so it's ok

Yea i got messed up with keto too. I think it slows your motabilism way down. Its like famine mode. Check out durian rider. Hes high energy. Says just crank in the carbs and keep the fats and dodgy oils low. Wheb you motabilisim is low after keto... you will put weight back on... but as the weight goes back on... start excercising more and get that motab up. Get the carbs and fruit sugar in. Our bodies run on sugar.

be wary of nuts and fatty seeds once wfpb,, the omega6 are too high,, and they STRONGLY REACT with starches and fruits sugar/fastsugars vs longsugars/starches reacts together,, an other reason to be 50%/80% raw brooke goldner

After YEARS of knowing this information and having all the books by all the doctors, I mean like 25 years, it finally got through to me when I read "Mastering Diabetes" what insulin resistance actually is, what it does to us (a LOT) and that when first going LFHC WHOLE plant foods, if someone is insulin resistant or type 2 diabetes (and type 1,1.5) yes their blood sugar WILL temporarily go up. I would always quit because when I tried this in the past that's what would happen. Well, finally understanding that it takes time for our cells to use up the stored lipid so they can become insulin sensitive again helped me see that the temporary glucose spike isn't a big deal and will normalize, for some quickly, for some longer, and it's all ok. I have known I was insulin resistant for about the past 10 years, progressively getting worse until I had blood pressure checked a few months ago and it was 140/97. Never, ever has my BP been that high. Now 8 days low fat, high carb, WHOLE plant food diet, I just had it checked again this morning and it's down to 123/85. IN 8 DAYS!! The weight is not really moving yet, but that's a great sign that it's working. The weight will come off. In the meantime asthma is 95% better, sense of smell is way better, memory and mood is fantastic, energy is great, my skin looks amazing (getting comments on it), hot flashes GONE (from 2-4/day and night) and my stamina is up. So there you go. Best healing diet ever.

Why did it take 25 yrs?

    • @PropheticCoachTheresa
      @PropheticCoachTheresa Рік тому +8

@jgrysiak6566 cause I didn't have the maturity to go through the initial suffering of giving up fats, processed foods, alcohol, and sugar, although I tried at various times. Also I've had tremendous stress and lots of trauma in my life and food was the way I medicated that, So while I tried many times, I could never stick with it. I'm just old enough and mature enough, and in PAIN enough, to realize it's now or never. This isn't an easy way to live. Most humans won't do it without a pain driver. But getting through the initial withdrawal stage, and having coping skills for stress, it's very doable.

    • @jgrysiak6566

@@PropheticCoachTheresa , Yes, going through the fat withdrawal is the worst. I was always hungry. I ate heavy fats all my life & thought they were healthy.

Eating a starch based plant diet gives u all the sugar u need .

What is a replacement for Legumes if you have G6PD Deficiency? Not many people realize that the eating of legumes can cause Hemolysis. Those carrier's of the variants of G6pd Deficiency "cannot" donate blood. Not many people know that.
One additional point is that those with G6pd Deficiency are immune to Malaria and should not take the malaria vaccine if traveling. It can cause Hemolysis leading to possible death.
I look forward to having more insight on what to eat instead of legumes for nutrition. Thanks.

I have a question. I’ve learned so much from watching videos with Dr. Barnard. Why don’t all doctors teach the same thing? A few days ago I watched a video where a doctor is saying he eats 4-6 eggs every day and says they are good for you! I think this is dangerous thinking and the only reason I watched the video is because someone recently told my sick daughter that she needs to eat 3 sticks of butter every day. Really? What is up with doctors thinking clearly different thoughts? I’m not talking about the doctors who just don’t know because they weren’t taught in school. I’m talking about the doctors that have the research in their hands and still teach conflicting information. Thank you Dr. Barnard for all you do for us. I’m hoping my daughter will listen to you and not eat 3 sticks of butter a day.

I think if you read The China Study by T. Colin Campbell PhD and also his next book Whole will make it clear. Many research studies are paid by the meat and dairy corporations which is a conflict in interest. Many doctors read these studies but don’t look to see who funded the studies. … Dr John McDougall’s website also has a ton of newsletters. These two doctors put me on the right path. Dr Esselstyn is well known for reversing heart disease for the past 30 years at the Cleveland Clinic by taking his patients off all meat and dairy.

Dairy will make you swell a lot on your period but you can still hurt a lot eating plants. It's because you get a little inflexible - not that that's a bad thing but the reason why there's bleeding is from the ripping. How I solve the cramping is with a back support to keep it in place. Too bad we stopped using corsets.

Ibuprofen might work but it also will make your blood really thin and that's partially why it works - and you bleed more. It also is associated with heart problems not to mention that it's a drug on the market likely tested on many animals. It's just what I avoid. I used to do ibuprofen till I found better. I too don't want holes in my stomach.

I was not understanding how this diet is healing until I finally learned the biochemistry of insulin resistance. The best source I found for that education is the book "Mastering Diabetes." Once I understood that, I was all in, ready to ride out the temporary blood sugar swings that come as cells use up excess stored lipid so that they can become insulin sensitive again. I'm on day 8 doing this and I can't believe how great I feel. The first 2 days I felt EXHAUSTED, and my blood sugar was slightly elevated. I persevered because I believed the biochemistry facts, and the millions of healing testimonies from around the world. This morning my blood pressure is down from 140/95 to 123/85, my asthma is 95% better, my memory and mood is off the charts, my stamina is much better. The weight is more slow to show much change, but all those things mean it's working! Trust the process. This is amazing.

@@gcs7817 It's not that time consuming once you get the hang of it. Also, my appetite and really normalized so I don't need to constantly snack all day. Breakfast and dinner are really enough. I only have to cook for myself most of the time so batch cooking is the easiest way to do this. Like a few days ago I air fried like 3 medium sweet potatoes chopped up, about 2 cups of quinoa on the stove top, red potatoes in the instant pot for 10 min then into the fridge, I have bags of broccoli and brussels sprouts from costco to steam up (takes like 10 min), and I have lettuce mix (also costco), cucumbers, etc, and parsley. I throw all that stuff in a bowl with a dressing that I use one of the coffee frothers to mix in a small bowl-a tsp of tahini, some mustard, basalmic or apple cider vinegar and braggs aminos. I take some of all that and make a big bowl out of it for dinner. Believe me that is really filling! I also have this week chopped fruit with a tsp each of ground flax, chia and hemp seed that I grind up in a coffee grinder before using I also use canned beans in those bowls. That's this week. May change it up next week, who knows!
