the punjab police officer is dead... he committed suicide... he was under pressure of the various cases going against him... he had killed many people during the dark days of militancy in Punjab. CBI was questioning him in various cases and also many court cases were going against him...
DSP Swaran Singh was reverted to the rank of Inspector after this incident, he was acquitted as he had paid a huge some to Dilshad's family..after retirement Swaran Singh shot himself out of frustration with his rifle at his home....

Earlier, in the year of 1997, Hundal was confined in the jail for allegedly killing the famous Punjabi singer Dilshad Akthar in Gurdaspur District during the marriage party at that time he was serving DSP. He spent nearly one year in the jail and later he was acquitted.

this was not the case.. my frnd was present thr in the marriage @ ramdaas/dera baba nanak where he was accidently shot. it was police officer hundal's son's marriage and he was drunk and when he was firing shots in air while celebrating(like most of us do on marriages) our legend dilshaad akhtar g was accidently shot dead along with injuring two others. he was very gud frnd of DSP hundal and had come thr to perform on his frnd's son's marriage,
