Great to see that samsung is slowly changing up their plan for their lower- mid range models first by dropping their awful J-series. A FHD+ super amoled and wide angle lens isn't something you'd expect for a $300 device.

I bought it its wonderful 🙂 Honestly it has all that you need for the third of the price for S10. Brightness exellent (I hold it on 40% and you can clearly see). Dolby atmos great option for headphones loud great sound and battery life woooooow 🙂 Smart choice 🙂

Did you know: you can record 4K in this phone but you need to install a third party app, like OpenCamera app but you need to do it manually in the settings❤️
yes you can also do it with the google pixel camera app. there are tutorials online, as you know :) its one point where samsung failed in this category with the A50.

PrefiX it might not be completely useless but most apps are coded to only take advantage of a single core, so I don’t really know what app you’re talking about but most apps like social media apps, games and utilities often can’t take advantage of the other cores

Great video! But just a suggestion: when you're showing the camera maybe you could show more pics of locations (indoors with different lightings like yellow/white bulbs, etc) and same with the front camera. Maybe more selfies in different lightings, indoors and such as? Otherwise great work 👍
Here in the Philippines this has 6Gb of RAM and 128Gb of system memory, and it’s plenty fast enough. They also did an update to the camera and finger print sensor in May and it’s improved both quite a lot. Low light shots are much better now.

Nick, you're using the European variant which needs an adapter and lacs LTE service in the States. The South American variant is the one to get if you want to get LTE in the States and comes with a u.s type plug, no adopter necessary!
As of about a week ago from this post. The A50 is now sold from Samsung unlocked and you can trade in older phones. I now have on after waiting what felt like forever. Also, nice shots of Humboldt park, the 606, and other parts of Chicago.
Great video Nick! I think this is a great mid ranger phone. Phones these days are getting so ridiculously expensive, it's nice to see a decent performer for a reasonable price.
Ive been using this phone for almost a month and a half now, still works perfectly fine , no lag , nothing. I play games and use it everyday... but a problem I'm facing now is , it kinda gets heated a little bit , but yeah apart from that everything is perfectly fine
@@fexking6367 I havent faced any network issues at all... it's really fast but the fingerprint scanner was trash when I bought the phone but after the updates came in... it's really fast now, way better and I started using the in screen fingerprint now too... so yeah

The A50 is what I'm going to get next. I currently main the Galaxy S7, but I use a J3 Orbit for certain things. From the specs I've looked at the A50 is better than the S7 in almost every way. Crazy how the most powerful phone of 2016 is just slightly more powerful than the mid range phone of 2019. And when I say slightly I mean the hardware is just a tad bit better. The camera on the A50 is better, the charging is better, and pretty much everything elses besides the processor, and display resolution is better on the A50. Can't wait to go from a 5.1 inch display to a 6.4 inch screen. The camera is also a big thing I'm excited for.
The A50 is about as fast as a Snapdragon 820 single core and multicore wise Surely better than Average Great review as usual Nick P.S : its camera is decidedly Budget, Display, speed, Design feel so high end though.. Coming from an SE, very impressed except with the camera Hope they update it

Got mine today on Christmas and it is the best phone I have ever had.I like it so far. Although I wasn't even going to try the face recognition because they are always bad. But when I first tried it I literally thought it didn't work because it did it so fast and flawlessly. Absolutely incredible product. I thought the phone wasn't locking but It was just the camera just working so well. And you don't have to put you face in the little box anymore it just knows if it is you.

It's not a gaming phone, but it is a true multimedia phone. The chip is designed to run 4k 120fps without hiccups and I think a lot of reviewers missed that point.

Question: in your S10e review you said the battery life was less than stellar as it had used about 15% in 3 hours 19min, but here the A50 is said to have better battery life after using 45% in 2 hours 32 minutes . Was the usage about the same in both tests when you filmed the Battery usage screen? Would the A50 get better battery performance vs the S10e in most use cases based on your usage and testing? Most of the specs listed on carrier/store websites indicate the S10e should have more talk/usage/standby time than the A50. Thanks!
I personally have this phone. Ever since I got it, it has gotten a lot of attention from people and many are claiming they want one too now. For those who want to game, there is apparently a 6 GB/128 GB version of this phone which they say is better for gaming. However in order to get that, I believe you need to go to Samsung's website to purchase it. All the listings on Amazon and Ebay seem to be for the 4GB/64 GB variant

Multicore scores are pretty much useless in phones as you often use an app at a time, you should focus on single core performance

It's not a gaming phone, but it is a true multimedia phone. The chip is designed to run 4k 120fps without hiccups and I think a lot of reviewers missed that point.

My decision was between the iphone 8 and Samsung A50 because they were the same price on sale at Verizon I ended up choosing the A50 for the display because the Iphone 8 is 2yrs old the specs are similar in performance so in a few days I'm getting an A50
Is the A 70 better? A biger screen and faster cpu ? The camera,s are the same in the 2 phone,s a50 and a70?

I bought the very first generation of Samsung Galaxy A5 and 4.5 years later, it's Still Going STRONG! The cam and video are awesome and I get 1080HD video for 4 years ago, I find it pretty cool. Do miss the macro lens function and sad they're not doing the sleek metal casing anymore, but the new glass-looking back looks very handsome too. #ImABeliever

I was not aware this thing had a fingerprint sensor... but I already have a screen protector on it so I can't use it yet. Still that's pretty cool. Definitely better than the j3 Luna pro I had before this phone

Question: in your S10e review you said the battery life was less than stellar as it had used about 15% in 3 hours 19min, but here the A50 is said to have better battery life after using 45% in 2 hours 32 minutes . Was the usage about the same in both tests when you filmed the Battery usage screen? Would the A50 get better battery performance vs the S10e in most use cases based on your usage and testing? Most of the specs listed on carrier/store websites indicate the S10e should have more talk/usage/standby time than the A50. Thanks!

I personally have this phone. Ever since I got it, it has gotten a lot of attention from people and many are claiming they want one too now. For those who want to game, there is apparently a 6 GB/128 GB version of this phone which they say is better for gaming. However in order to get that, I believe you need to go to Samsung's website to purchase it. All the listings on Amazon and Ebay seem to be for the 4GB/64 GB variant

You probably already know but yes it charges crazy fast my sisters have iphones with the slow charging and small bricks and they really take long to fill up their battery while in 45 mins or so im almost full
