    As a fulltime furniture maker and woodworker, my small Xtool M1 laser has helped make small items that sell while waiting on larger orders.

    Congrats and what an amazing story! I was at a low when my job of nearly a decade made me redundant just before Christmas. I'm trying to start my own laser journey, but just as things start to go good, another major cluster-hiccup comes up and tells me I can't do this. Your journey gives me hope so thanks

    Thanks for the encouragement! Just received my Mira 9 and it's nice to know that the sky is the limit and we are only inhibited by our own imaginations, however with stories like yours, we can collectively encourage others to succeed.

I plan to get comfortable with it and learn and do small things with it and my goal is to get a bigger CO2 this time next year when they have the amazing Christmas deals again. Wonderful. It helps to see how someone has progressed. I am a retired RN and looking for a hobby that will provide personal challenges and maybe discover an artistic side of myself. Seeing how you started is inspiring, you were doing what you liked to do and the doors opened as you learned and experimented with your laser. That is my approach as well. I have never used a laser. I have good carpentry skills, electrical experience (installing my own 200 amp panel etc), photography (and using photoshop), and welding. I feel this is another step in this learning process.
    Would like to reach out as needed, if you are okay with that? My laser should be here at the end Feb. I am shipment 53 seat 09. I have a Super Nova 14 coming my way.

      That is so exciting!! You have a great base and I am sure can use those existing skills in the laser world too. My laser journey morphs and continues to and I love it. Feel free to reach out whenever and thanks for watching

    Love it. I see that you can make Tumblers is that something you can do with a C02 or you need a Fiber special for that. I am starting small I did purchase a Monport C02. cant wait to start my journey,

    • @LaserAndLearn
      @LaserAndLearn  Рік тому

      You can do a lot of tumblers with a Co2! I don't have a fiber yet, and I can do those! They have to be what is called powdered coated and basically the Co2 laser can remove the coating. So a lot of staleys, yetis and the like have the coating! You can also use a something called Cermark to spray on the stainless steel and it basically is a paste that when you laser, the laser areas adhere to the metal and the rest rubs off. Wouldn't recommend as much for tumblers, but works great for some things

    Thank you for teaching your gift of knowledge! I’ve been interested in adding a laser to my current business, but I have no experience with a laser and I’m uncertain where and what I should be starting with to get started. Can you offer some direction? Thank you for your time to assist 😊

      Thanks so much for watching my videos! I would say if you already have a business and a customer base, go for a more industrial laser if you plan to incorporate a lot of laser items. The glowforge was a great first laser but I (and many others) outgrew it in months. Having my larger laser, I still feel I haven't outgrew it. There are a lot of great industrial brands. Thunder, aeon, trotec, omtech, etc. I personally love my Aeon. There is a large community around it, the customer service and the tech support is phenomenal, and the price is competitive and reasonable for what you get. I am happy to answer more specific questions too or if you ever wanted to Zoom, let me know
