  • Upgrading 2005 Four Winns Horizon 210 with mercruiser 350MAG MPI V8 to KMJ Performance cnc aluminum roller rockers. Stock is 1.5 ratio, these are the same. Going for less friction, lower oil temperature and 10-15hp. 2-3hr installation. Fit under OE valve covers. Easy upgrade. Small block chevy mercruiser already has roller cam and roller lifters. These use 3/8" rocker studs.

What field of work you in?

Manufacturing clean ingredient personal care/cosmetics. Lets see... started with legos, then drag racing and rebuilding type1 VW beetles, 7.3L power stroke modder, alum & steel tig welding, mig welding, professional baker, electronics technologist, installed/sold solar PV & hot water, etc.

Are they still working years later?

@@westvandude awesome now i believe in them more. I understand that it hasnt got alot of hours, but those hours im sure was around 3000rpm or more, which shows me they hold up above average rpms, for a lil while anyways

    What was the mph gain?

To be honest I don't think there was any. But overall it runs smoother and quieter from what I can tell. Unfortunately there aren't too many power hop-up pieces for this generation (ie. ecu programs, etc) for more power. Perhaps try 1.6 or 1.7 ratio rockers for more lift? Otherwise maybe a supercharge but damn lotta change $$$ for that. Cheaper to get similar hull boat with a big block or factory supercharger. Too bad not many turbo options for gasoline marine engines. Changing ecu software on a factory turbo'd motor gives big gains vs 5% with premium gas advance ignition timing on naturally aspirated. Although I haven't measured seems fuel economy is better, perhaps due to overall little bit less friction with rollers vs stamped steel pieces.

@@westvandude I just did two of these, one was a repower because cracked block, i just took used 1998 Tahoe 5.7, honed ,rings, bearings ,oil pump, home ported heads, meling oem replacement ls1 springs , comp locks, ramjet 350 cam, same as merc mag 350 cam, added 1.6 ratio roller rockers, shim head gasket, flashed pcm to 350hp and the plugs were still white. Ran almost 60mph in mid 90's sea ray I think 22', next was 06 220 crownline did same but 3.75 eagle crank ,rods, .040 -10.2 wiseco pistons, cometic head gasket about .035, 1.65 rockers, .496 cam, 210@.50 ,195 afr heads, Eddie marine exhaust, whipple flashed the pcm to ?, bravo 3, just took first lake test, 24p props, she feels twice as responsive, feels like Corvette on water but 5900 rpm comes in couple seconds Forgot GPS, I think 60mph, going back monday with the 26p and new iac, adjusted r rockers @ 1/2 turn because higher ratio, they seem a little noisy, a little afraid to go to 3/4 turn, maybe the fear is unwarranted.

@@jesusisreal3209 Sounds like you've got skills. Can't speak to reliability I don't have that many hours on these rockers. So far it's running smooth. Is it really quieter than before.... I dunno. It's like bling that nobody sees. I've got stock ratio, maybe I should of gone one up for bit more power. I find the mag 350 hop-up options are super limited, gonna sell the boat pretty soon here.

@westvandude, thanks for the video. Have not long had my '04 Four Winns 210 with 350Mag MPI but only with Bravo 1 drive. Looking for any power upgrade tips I can find, apart from Whipple Supercharging this is all I have found. If there's any more updates please let us know. Stock with 3-4 people on board, its just lazy getting up on the plane, let along trying to pull a 100kg wakeboarder or even worse a skiier. What about better cams?
