I find the same issue with rust repars on my 1967 bus starts out small soon it has become many panels . But it does make one study how all bits are assembled and you have a deeper understanding of your vw.
The thing I noticed most is that while this front clip section fits a lot better than I expected it to, it's really poorly made. Where the factory used 20 or 30 spot welds, the replacement part has 5 or 6. It came apart far too easily for my liking so when I do weld it in, I'll be rewelding some of the seams too for extra strength.

Thanks! It's just a generic front clip from one of the usual suppliers. It was actually left over from another project we were working on in the unit.
