Learn how to simply change the abrasive in a wet blasting machine in 15-20 minutes. Periodically the abrasive needs to be replaced or different abrasives need to be used for different processes. Learn how to change the abrasive in a wet blasting machine the quick and easy way using the sedimentation method. Settling out the solids from any wet blasting machine is important for proper disposal. The wet blasting process uses no chemicals just water and abrasive but its always important not to drain solids down any sewer system unless instructed by your local officials. After the abrasives are settled out of the water proper disposal can be completed at that time. It seems like you're repeating and talking in circles here.
Did you cover the drain off bin?
so you drain the water in the bin?
The absorving towel do you sell it? or where can I find it?
Do you still have a hobby version of your vapor honing machine?
What abrasives would you recommend for stripping alloy wheels ready for powder coating, thanks
We have found that it really depends on the Coating on the Wheels, some may be removed with Aluminum Oxide and other may require something more aggressive like Silicon Carbide. This only needed to be about 30 seconds long.
Thank you for your input. We will put this on our schedule to make an updated video. We would also like to invite you to watch some of our newer videos which range from 1 to 2 minutes. Feel free to follow us on Instagram for promotional videos that range from 30 seconds to 1 minute. Again, thank you for your input. We at VHT appreciate your input.
Thank you,
I think you guys do a great job covering all the aspects but you definitely would benefit from a bit more time spent doing editing. A lot of us "newbs" really rely on this information and you're one of the only people putting it out. One guy on the camera while another guys follows a rough outline of a script, maybe a timelapse on the actual draining would really show us the whole process. Plus a lot of us have short attention spans :P Keep up the great work putting content out though!
How usable is such a machine without the blasting air supply, only using the slurry pump? Will there be enough impact force to do light deburring (remove machining tool marks), or even polishing aluminum?
This process is not quite as simple as they say. They purposely left out actually changing the abrasive. It takes much longer than suggested.
Hey Scott, how are you? You are correct, changing abrasive can take about 30-45 minutes for a complete change over. However, there are many projects that can be done with the 4:1 Ratio mixture of Glass Bead:Aluminum Oxide. This prevents you from having to change abrasive as often.
