I'm neutral on the electric start but I wish they would keep the kickstart at least as a back up.
boarder989 they probably do only electric start to save costs on having an extra system to start it.
having both adds weight to the bike as well. So far it has been great. Fires up very quick. We'll see how it does over the year.
Nateguy632- They have warehouses full of kick levers, and kick starting components as of now to last a hundred years. & I highly doubt kawi needs to save on cost. Their probably ok financially.. Its most likely because of evolution or lack their of & to 'fit in' w the rest of the manufacturers.
Rocky Mountain ATV MC- 2-3lbs maybe with springs, bearing, gears ect? Im also curious of how it will hold up over the year. i agree with boarder989 about keeping the kick for backup. It just makes sense,.A dead battery, no matter the reason can leave u stranded, stuck or worse. For instance, a older, injured or disabled rider who prefers or depends on elec. start would be going nowhere with a dead battery while stuck. I understand push starting, but in some situations or areas thats not always possible, even as a healthy,strong rider. & kick starter's are bulletproof. Manufacturers knew having both adds weight to the bike, before they designed it & proof is in these same manufacturers streetbike's & enduro's. Personally i wouldn't mind having an extra 3lb to have electric start. But i would mind giving up kick start only to lose 3lb on my bike,.. It sounds great for racers and pro's, But the gen pop. is the real customer..What are your thoughts on elec vs kick? Or both? On Mx bikes. Great video btw

Paul Mader it looks to me that most manufacturers are making the side number plate smaller which exposed the muffler. I kinda like it

Unstoppable120s Bernardo it doesn't look bad just kinda looks like a bazooka hahaha hahaha but it's not the number plate it's the emissions test they gotta pass so the mufflers are getting bigger also noise restrictions to, the downside to the bigger muffler is they rob abit off your top end of the power only a little though

Sound Enthusiast why not? The stock muffler and pipe is not bad, they do existensive test on them. Why hobby rider change is because they want more bling.

Yes, it does stick out quite a bit. But the sound a performance is excellent. I'm sure these manufacturers don't make these big just because. I've heard FMF is making it smaller for those that can't handle it.
It only took 22 years for a Japanese manufacturer to go with a hydraulic clutch. (KTM 1998). Glad they're finally doing it. Same goes for E-start, it's about time.

Kx trying to have a competition with rmz for bazooka pipe of the year those exhausts are hideous why can't they make a stock exhaust not look stupid . But I love the new Kx with e start and hydro clutch the body work and exhaust need redone IMO.

I ride the 2018 & I can't believe they've re-done they bike completely - I want to hop on the 19 and see the vast differences - Canadian retail price???
Not sure what the Canadian retail is. It's a big difference IMO from the 18. But if your 18 is all set up and dialed in just how you like it, then maybe you'll like yours more than a stock 19? I can say that both bikes in stock form, the 19 is a better bike. Just the forks alone are soooo much better.

Great review, what grips did you put on?
In this video I was trying out the Torc1 lock on grips. The diameter is a little big feeling for my small hands but I love the feel of them. I also really like how many points of adjustment the throttle cam has to get the waffle right where you want it.-Chase

good video! ive heard the clutch is weak, is that true? do u need to put in harder springs if u using clutch more than "normal" ?
I haven't had any issues with my clutch slipping or felt like I needed stiffer springs. That being said, I'm not a clutch abuser, so I don't beat up clutches very much.-Chase

I work with bikes for a living and I've taken apart several hundred, if not thousands.....Euro bike motors are built so much better than Kawasaki, things like needle bearings for the clutch basket vs. a bushing, oil pumps as modular replaceable units vs. in case, removable (cleanable) oil jets vs. oil ports (and more oil jets), replaceable cam chain sprockets vs. machined to the crank, I could keep going on but you get the point. I'm not saying Kawasaki is bad, but you get what you pay for. KTM, Husaberg, Husqvarna, and Beta are just better...but you pay for it.
Oh yeah, jank ass titanium valves are a big deal - I've bought more Kawasaki's with toasted heads than any other brand.
So buying a Exf 2021 450 KTM might be a better buy ?

Ryan, becuase Kawi doesn't make a two stroke, they didn't feel the need to have an "f" to designate it as a four stroke.-Chase
Just a thought, can you compare it to your Suzuki 450 that you did some minor engine mods on?
Jay, the Kawi stock feels just as good if not better than my RMZ did with the minor mods. The RMZ had good hit at the bottom and third gear maaaay have pulled a little harder at the bottom which was nice for exiting corners in third, but it didn't rev as far and signed off earlier than the Kawi. As I talked about in the vid, I felt like the RMZ had a lot of engine braking which made the bike "feel" heavier, especially in softer, deeper dirt. The RMZ was a good motor and smooth but i'd take the Kawi every time no questions asked. I'm sure we'll put the Kawi on the Dyno soon and that will be interesting to see. Hope this helps.-Chase
Thanks for that tid bit. One other thing... they say the Kawi is a rear steer bike, did that change to make it feel more slotted in the turn similar to a suzuki feel?
It went from a rear end steering bike to a more balanced feel. It's not as front end biased as the Suzuki but you can easily steer it from front or back. The RM liked to just be steered from the front. I just really like how balanced the bike feels under decel and braking. It's not pitchy.

You wouldn't be able to tough your feet to the ground with both feet at the same time. Also would depend on skill level. A 450 is a lot of bike for some that size.

Never understood why everyone calls them "motors." A motor is electric driven, an engine is combustion (gas) driven which is what these are. Everyone says motors but it's not the correct wording. Lololololol
