I love your bathroom/shower location. It's very clever! Was there any big hurdles to overcome when designing or building it? Did you adopt this idea from another build that you saw somewhere along the way? Keep up the great work and I'm so glad you are keeping this one for yourselves!
In our last van we had a pop up shower in this same location and loved it. Orienting it this way gives us more privacy since the nautilus is paper thin and allows us to keep the cab door open at night for the cats without any look into the main living space from outside. It also gives us a lot more livable space. However it was quite difficult to build with all the sliding doors and drawers and even harder to waterproof all of that. We are super happy with it and feel that it paid off but it was A LOT of work to get it finished.

Can you please teach a course with step by step instruction on how to build something like this (including tools used, techniques, specific materials used, wiring , plumbing, etc..) . I’m interested in building out a van for the first time within the next year. Y’all do a fantastic job.

If you go into settings you can slow playback speed if that helps.

I have to tell you two, 1, you’re a very lucky guy to find a girl that will help you every step of the way doing that build, and everything else you got in your life! 2, now this is coming from a homebuilder of 40 years, custom van limousine, and even a couple of train car builder of 15 years. Exceptional build! This is one of the most beautiful, sleek, just stunning van builds that I’ve ever seen! I need to get more information on the Roman clay? I love that product and the look of it. They are standard 15 gallon tanks made by Class A customs. We combined a bunch of them to make larger water tanks while also keeping them as high as possible off the ground.
This is the most beautiful van I’ve ever seen! (and I’ve seen my fair share 😂) I’m honestly in love with the aesthetics and it looks very much like the van I’m hoping to build for myself one day!

Really surprised you didn’t put aluminum plating or something under those water tanks for skid protection. Could be an easy add later.
We did. The tanks also got insulated and lots of other additions it was just super difficult to film under the van so we didn’t get it on camera.
Are you able to buy the design plans? This one is incredible and my wife and I want to make a van home for our boys and us to have something like this.
The finished product looks spectacular but I see you both put a giant amount of effort in to achieve it. The electrical looks like a nightmare. What qualifications do you have to be able to pull something like that off? Anyway, congrats, it is a real work of art.
Seth is a certified Victron installer and licensed low voltage installer/technician. But the configuration of this one was indeed a nightmare. 💀Typically we try to keep them more user friendly then this one if they are going up for sale, but this is our van so we shouldn’t have any trouble maintaining the system. We packed an AC unit, 810ah of lithium, and all the proper fusing and wiring for dual solar chargers and dual alternator chargers in one side of the bench so that came with quite a bit of work to get it all to fit and be safe! Wenn ich es mir noch zutrauen würde in meinem Alter, bin jetzt 66 Jahre alt, dann könnte ich so ein Projekt auch noch mal ins Auge fassen. Aber allein schon die unfassbar hohen Holzpreise in Deutschland sind ja schon unbezahlbar für einen Hobby Handwerker. Du brauchst ein gebrauchtes Fahrzeug, wie viel PS auch immer, und ich bräuchte Hilfe, weil ich das nicht alles alleine hinkriegen würde. Vor allem mit der Elektrik. Und dann diese ewigen Genehmigungen und Abnahmeprüfungen. Das geht schon brutal ins Geld, und dafür könnte man sich fast ein 100.000 € teures neues Wohnmobil kaufen. Also hier in Europa, ich weiß ja nicht wie das bei euch aussieht. War leider noch nie da! Aber vielleicht schaffe ich das ja noch einmal in meinem kurzen Rest Leben.

It’s actually a Roman clay it’s called piano room from Portola paints. But be warned, it is a difficult application process!

This was our own van and was built in the US model van so it was left hand drive.

This van is black so we did a little extra on it since we are fighting an uphill battle. That being said it is very important to properly insulate your van! Our favorite product is 3m thinsulate!
