Peter David making you care about several C-D list characters speaks to how great this run was.
Agreed. His writing spoke to me more vividly than Clairmont’s A-list work on X-Men, if yo can believe that.
I don’t read modern Marvel, but I really admire how a writer like Peter David can continue to tell great stories through all the constant events and shifting around of characters.
Same here. The only modern stuff I would consider reading is stuff from old school writers. Well, the ones that haven't lost their marbles :)
Absolutely amazing that we got this one! Some of my favorite comic memories here.
So stoked for tomorrows delivery!! Merci merci
My favorite PAD run finally in omnibus format! Book looks absolutely gorgeous.
Peter David is the king of characterisation. What he done with Hulk, a character that no one wanted to write at the time, was amazing, as was his work on X-Factor, Spidey 2099 and Genis-Vell. Anything with his name on it is an automatic pre-order for me.
Can’t wait to get this one!
So excited for this book. Preordered, just waiting for my LCS to call and tell me it came in :D
Peter David is a great comics writer.
Gives his characters interest. Elevates comics above the average.
I love this run, and the fact that it's finally coming out brings me so much (tears of) joy 😭 thanks so much Omar, Melanie and the fine folks at Marvel for making this happen. Books like this remind me how much I love and enjoy reading comic books and what the medium gives us in our life.
Woot! Woot! Can't wait, really enjoyed the last one, keep 'em coming!
This looks even better than I hoped 😱😍
I read the first three issues of the “Madrox” mini on Marvel Unlimited, and I fell in love with it. I have very little knowledge of X-Men, and I felt wrapped in without getting lost. I’ll definitely pick this up eventually and get a dustjacket that says “Vol. 1.”
This is a truly amazing self contained mutant story. Contemplating upgrading my premier HCs.. maybe later
Come on DC. Where is the love for Peter David?
Preach! It's practically criminal we don't have Aquaman, Supergirl, and Young Justice omnis from him.
Incredible run. Great character development, great use and twists of the character's powers, very mature tone, lot of fun, crazy stories, I love it too !
Never thought I'd see the day. I had the first two CCs of this run and absolutely loved them.
This might be one of my most wanted omnis for this year. I can’t wait to get my copy 🔥🔥 Excellent overview as always
I don't think there's a better X series out there.
You can’t go wrong with Peter David. I ended up going with the DM cover but both are very cool. This is such a great era for
X-Factor, highly recommended.
I love this series so much. Was buying it in singles when it was coming out and own the series in standard Hardcover. Think I'm going to hold strong and not double dip, but it's tough with this one. My favorite X-book ever.
Best run ever
Just ordered my Vol.1 of Peter Davids x-factor and I'm so excited can't wait to get this one and vol.3
i really love that the logo was changed
I can't recommend this series highly enough. My all-time favourite X-title, it's brilliant!
Loved these issues as they came out am definitely getting this omnibus
IT’S HEEEEEEEERE!!! 😭
This book is SO GOOD! I can’t wait to get my copy in hand!!❤
Way Too AWESOME!!!!
Man after watching this video I'm sold. I got the two complete collections way back when and was really impressed. It really bummed me out that they didn't continue them. What are the chances they collect the All-New X-Factor series in the last Omni? I got all the trades when they were coming out and loved that series. One of the most underrated series during the first Marvel Now era. Thanks as always Omar. Take care and peace everyone.
I will be buying this one, and! All the upcoming PD Omnis - Hulk: Maestro, Genis-Vell, and the next two upcoming X-Factor Omnis., and Spider-Man 2099. Only PD Omni missing so far, is DC Comics “Supergirl.”
Aaaahhhh well, we can dream.
I was not interested in this book until I watched your review. Now I think that I will buy it.
Getting my DM cover edition today... will be fun to reread after originally collecting the trades!
This is one of the few X runs I haven’t read. Need it
A Donnelly book! I’m there!! Oh yeah, the contents look pretty good too! To be honest I bailed on this run a few issues in but I think maybe I should give it another chance as a collected edition. Thanks Omar!
Should've been X-Factor Investigations Volume 1? Yeah, I actually agree. And what they did with volume 1 of Peter David X-Factor, what they should've done was just have it be All New All Different X-Factor Omnibus and had it collect issues 71 through 111 and whatever else that's relevant.
I might get this. I haven't decided yet. I've never read the material or much X-Men stuff around this period at all, so I don't know.
I agree. phenomenal read. Great review!!
All I know is this was after House of M, which I love, so going in blind with this run.
Why does DC Hate Peter David?
We Need Aquaman, Young Justice, and Most of all.....SUPERGIRL in Omnibus form.
Man I'm missing out a lot on X-factor and peter david
This sounds awesome, great overview!
Now that we are getting X-factor investigations in omnis.. we need - x-men legacy by Carey next
love that series ❤
Hey Homar, PAD is having serious health issues, it would be nice of you as a big fan to make a video about that. There is a gofundme to going on to pay the hospital bill.
I’ll be sharing and talking about it on Saturday. He’s one of my favorite writers of all time. It masked me sad to see him have so many health issues.
Read it mostly in singles and loved it. Got the tpbs and eventually the small deluxe Hardcovers to complete the run. This omni is nice but i think i have to pass since i own it all
So excited for this 🥰
This really should have just been called X-Factor investigation or X-Factor vol.1 all over like X-Men renamed Vol.1 with the Jim Lee stuff . I dont mined the different font but the numbering is gonna throw off some new readers
Peter David is consistently a great over the years very impressive, I haven't read this but I have a feeling it is gonna be better than Grant Morrison X-Men for me personally kus I fined his writing more my thing while Morrison is hit & miss he tries to be to different sometimes
Can I get stuck into this Omni without reading Vol 1? Or will I be too far off the story.
Yeah, the Dr. Strange Sorcerer Supreme V3 switched up the font on the spine too. And I find it annoying.
Question: Is there more PAD XF after this book or does his run end here at this Omni? I have the previous 2 CC and was kinda bummed it was not completed (unless I am missing something and mistaken). Otherwise this looks to be a great way to get all of PAD XF in Omni format and perhaps trade my CC books.
There should be two more volumes. I announced volume 3 already so I hope one more.
@@NearMintCondition Awesome thank you again! Guess I'm picking this up tomorrow and of course New Warriors Omni Vol2! Great week!
With some of these recent spine font changes I hope uncanny X-Men vol 5 doesn't do this😑. I already don't like that my uncanny vol 1,3 & 4 are the big size font while my vol 2 is the smaller font. X factor was one of my first comics I picked back up after being gone for awhile along with uncanny x-force & uncanny x-men. And i don't regret it because x factor was my favorite read monthly. Glad I can finally read the stuff under #200 because were I'm from the early issues are hard to come by as a complete set.
is the first volume as highly recommended as this one?
Well, some appreciation for PAD is refreshing - during the last year or so I got tired of wrestling crap metaphorics saying how much of a “self indulgent w-ker” he is. There’s not a single PAD comic book I’ve read that was not an efficient, well done fun storytelling. In fact, I like his stuff over Claremont’s, but that’s me.
Is this new reader friendly?
Would you rank this on your top 20 of the year?
I am maxed out on omnis lol
glad for this who are getting it
just buy it!!
@@logicalvslateral hahaha
Love the spirit 🙌
Just saw a GoFundMe that Peter David is very ill. Omar, can you confirm this somehow?
I was just emailed the same thing. I’ll look into it. Damnit.
@@NearMintCondition damn indeed. Hopefully, he pulls through, and he gets lots of royalties from x factor Omni.
There's a huge gap between V1 and V2. :(
It's okay! Just buy this one and get a custom dustjacket that says "Vol. 1"
It's a creator centric book. What do you want?
Just a word to the wise here, I do not believe this is standalone read, it intersects all over the place with ongoing events and other X-Men books. So unless you're planning on reading the whole X-Men timeline and events like House of M, Civil War, etc. during these years, you know approach with caution.
Well, not to sound snarky, but that's how the Internet can fill in the gaps. That's what I did, and I'm an old soul.
Respectfully disagree. Outside of Messiah Complex I don’t think you “need” to read the HoM or civil war or secret invasion. Those stories don’t really affect this little almost pocket universe that is David’s X-factor.
@@NearMintCondition I totally get that, but for me, just for example when I read the parts with Quicksilver involved, I'm like okay what happens next? Then I realize I have to read the entire Kings Cosmic Saga to find out what happened to Quicksilver
Ohhh with the mist. I thought that was explained well during the x-Cell saga. I will say that’s what events were supposed to do. Get you to check out other comics. Peter David hated them, but loved the sales of his books during Messiah Complex and Second Coming.
@@MastermindAXL I totally get that, for some people I'm sure that works. But I'm not that type. I can't just ready someone's explanation as to what happened. I have to experience it! I must go down every rabbit hole. To the point that I found this Peter David run was pretty much impossible to enjoy without first having read Generation X (and of course earlier stories with Multiple Man in X-Factor.) If I hadn't read Gen X I would have been struggling the whole time with Monet's backstory and why to care about her. If I didn't also read X-Force by Kyle and Yost concurrently with X-Factor, I would have struggled with what was going on with Wolfsbane as she comes in an out of the X-Factor book.
Total pass I loved the 90s X Factor but this is a no go for me just like Astonishing just can’t get into the art styles looks to bland and boring.
ill agree sightly because god are you missing out on not reading Astonishing. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes but I super duper recommend Astonishing.
@@JoeArnold333 idk I’ve tried to read it but like I said the art just makes me not interested in it not that it’s bad art it’s great art but to me it’s dull coloring I prefer 90s art and coloring to be honest.
Hated Madrox pregnant. Not for me
