Would love some expert opinion on these. Currently choosing between Q Acoustics M20 (basically the powered version of 3020i) and Triangle Borea Br02 Bt. Any thoughts on which one is better?
you have to listen to it IRL. you will listen and live with it. ASR tested the QA3020 but not the BR02. but the BR03 does, which foreshadows what the BR02 can do with less bass.
Does Spotify connect works with Spotify Hi Fi with an iphone?
These 3030is sound much leaner and crisper than I remember them. The bass is still a touch sloppy, but seems tighter than in E's earlier demos. The mids are lean, and treble is crisp but not super detailed or refined. I could use these for casual listening with the C338 and mostly enjoy it, but they're pedestrian sounding and just don't draw me into the music deeply, or display any special talents.
@@DougMen1 I heard it, and commented that I felt it's internal amp sounded more musical to me than the Meridian amp I think it was he fed it's preamp out's to. The Meridian had stronger bass and slighthly more defined and forward treble, but sounded less smooth and lifelike to me.
So basically a competitor to the Q150s, if we consider the Denton 80s to be retro-modern in both appearance and sound. I reckon both the Q150 and the QA 3030i will need a sub, especially the 3030i. To me, they're both clean sounding modern speakers, with the 3030is having too much in the upper mids and the Q150s a bit too little. I think the Q150s are the better speaker by being more balanced. These 3030is are a bit of a demo room special. I'm actually liking the Dentons quite a lot with the Denon DRA800H. It seems like they prefer a nice clean crisp, Class A/B amp. Maybe E should hook them up to the Yamaha AS301 ? I'm too mischievous today. Well it is Halloween w/e 😈😈 Trick or Treat ?
@@DougMen1 That means they must be pretty sh*t, right there DM !! It would be interesting to hear (for me at least) the Denton 80s and the 12.2s on say the AS 301 or the Audiolab 6000A. Or even the Denon or Sony receiver.
@@DougMen1 Sure . I 'd like to know a bit more about E's methodology now. I don't think he's making these choices randomly. Maybe he's doing a bit of testing (which obviously we aren't party to) before thinking to himself, well I've got these new speakers and I think they sound quite good with amp XYZ , over amps ABC, CBA , BAC, ACB etc.
@@DougMen1 Oh, I don't mind at all if E continues along his current twin paths (go for it E 😀) but I'm not sure he will. Let's see !!!! The C338 with a boatload of speakers and the Dentons with a boatload of amps.
Steve Guttenberg just spilled the beans about why he never does a bad review. He talked about how he gets "long term loans" of gear by manufacturers, which Michael Fremer has also talked about in regard to the hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cables that he has "loaned" to him, and no doubt that also applies to electronics, speakers, phono cartridges, power conditioners, turntables, etc., that these shills and grifters get. At least Zeos is honest about the free stuff he gets. I guess that's also why Andrew and Kristi have so many expensive amps, receivers, and speakers. What a bunch of con artists. I've never once heard John Atkinson talk about getting anything "loaned" to him. He does a review and then it goes back. His long term reference speaker is the KEF LS50, which he bought, and before that it was the B&W Silver Signature for many years, which he also bought. These people aren't reviewers, they're salesmen posing as reviewers, and they're making suckers of us all. Meanwhile, our great host here gets nothing for free, and buys all the speakers and amps here out of his own pocket!
What does this have to do with this amp and speaker?
@@jasonpaoletti263 It has to do with the integrity and honesty of YT reviews and reviewers (and all audio reviewers, no matter their platform), which is an important and relevant topic for anyone here. DUH!
