Bombardier launched a new Global 8000 jet to connect cities 8,000 nautical miles apart at unprecedented speeds of Mach 0.94. The aircraft, which was unveiled in a high-energy event at the EBACE show in Geneva, is expected to be the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde. In fact, in flight tests it has broken the sound barrier, exceeding Mach 1.0.

I’m a retired corporate pilot, guess I retried a little too soon. Man I’d love to get my hands on one of these bad boys. Mach 1 sweet!!!
💚💜💚💜
I'm sure you will beable to steal a flight on one in the future if you really want to.....haha
Bombardier makes aviation great again.
Cana🇨🇦an pride.
I'm floored. I didn't think Bombardier was going to pull that rabbit out of its hat, and 7500 upgradable as well? A job well done, Bombardier.
This is not a rabbit, this is the exact same hare as before with a caption that reads "new". The only change are new placards that show an increased maximum speed (that the plane cannot reach except in a dive anyway) and indicate the maximum quantity of fuel allowed. That's it. The 'upgrade kit' for the 7500 will likely only be a set of new cockpit and refuelling point indicators.
Well I have wanted a Ferrari, and a Gulf G-650 EL for a long time, but I think I just got a new bedroom wall poster, right in time for my 60th birthday ...
Congrats . Bombardier! You designed her,you built, her now push further. Don't stop! Your competition, won't. Total respect to all of you.An engineering marvel.Move ahead.
Such a shame that gulfstream seems to be lagging behind bombardier. Dassault is doing something great with the falcon 10x (particularly the largest volume cabin) but it is still years from debuting.
But they are not. Lagging that is. Gulfstream is getting ready with the G700, with a longer, wider and taller cabin. And it is most likely going to have just a bit more range than the *relabelled* Global 7500, since they can bide their time refining the product, being delayed with the certification following the introduction of new rules after the 737MAX mess. The Global is just this, a relabelling, the aircraft is so much the same that G7500 already in service can be 'upgraded' to -8000 with a service bulletin; they merely update the placards that say "do not exceed M 0.925" with those that sat "Mach 0.94" (which makes no difference since the plane cannot fly that fast except in a dive anyway), and allow the fuel tank to be filled with a bit more jet fuel. There is zero upgrade here; even worse, none is possible in the foreseeable future since Bombardier has sold off or laid off all their design engineers.
Gulfstream is offering .95 cruise on their 400, 500, 600, 700 and 800, if I'm not mistaken. They announced it a few months ago. It's actually Bombardier that's late to the party.
@@cavaleer Gulfstream is NOT offering 0.95 CRUISE on ANYTHING. The G650 and ER,, the G700, and the G800 are all legally certified for 0.90 mach high speed cruise, 0.85 normal cruise, and 0.925 Mach Mmo (maximum operating limit-speed). 0.94 Mach is the highest certified Mmo in the purpose-built business jet industry which recently bombardier got certification for (for the plane in the video).
@@vincentgoudreault9662 The G700 has already been certified and is being readied for delivery. Their “several inches” longer and taller cabin g700 does 7500 nm maximum range, which is lower than the Global 7000’s 7700nm (note that the Global 7500 was launched 4 years ago). In addition, the Gulfstream G800 does 8000nm range but has the same dimensions as the G650. The only areas Gulfstream seems to be “innovating” in are the types of wood veneers available for the tables on board and the different colors of lighting inside the plane. In a couple of years dassault will launch the falcon 10x which will have a larger cabin than both global 7000/8000 and the G700 and will do 7500nm+. Gulfstream seems to have peaked with the G650 and now it seems like the company hides behind a veneer of respectability under which everything is all pretty underwhelming.
@@14thegr8 Sorry to rain on your parade, but:
Gulfstream warned that G700 certification - planned for the fourth quarter of 2022 - could be delayed by 3 to 6 months due to the new FAA software validation requirements. Delayed certification might not only interrupt the start of G700 deliveries; it could also affect future Gulfstream projects.-- May 18, 2022
As for the range, it is a matter of being allowed to fill the tanks. Already, the G650 had plenty of unused space for fuel (as a former colleague who went to work for Gulfstream told me) hence the 650ER. And filling more fuel to extend the range is what the Global is doing now; there is nothing preventing Gulfstream for doing it again.
I expect 8,000 NM range is achieved by flying at only Mach 0.8 (850 km/h, 460 kts). Mach 0.94 (1000 km/h, 540 kts) probably reduced range to 6,000 NM.
Obviously you'll have to go slower to acheive 8000 NM (like the G800).
But that fantastic wing offers you the flexibility of flying up to Mach 0.94, "or" up to 8000 NM.
And still landing at a very safe slow speed - with much better lateral wind tolerance than the competition...
@@erictremblay4940 that is true. Obviously, anybody who can afford to buy or lease one, will be given info on typical flight profiles. For those of us in the political space defending private aircraft services, as distinct from the 'public' airline services, this service information, such as the flight profile to fly 8000 km is very useful.
Nope. The Mach 0.94 thing that is. The plane CANNOT cruise at M 0.94, it is limited by the engine thrust to the same high speed cruise as before, Mach 0.90. The 'change' is that you can *dive* at M 0.94 instead of Mach 0.925 without voiding the warranty.
@@vincentgoudreault9662 so, a marketing gimmick. They are testing at over M1.0 - must be diving as well. Due to wing shape, airspeed over the wing varies in the transonic zone with Mach 1 occuring over part of the wing. So, testing above Mach 1 proves the plane for a number of emergency scenarios, and they are saying it is safe to descend at M0.94.
@@peteregan3862 Well, duh! Yes, it was in a dive. One of my former colleague (from the Loads & Dynamics group) told me, a couple days ago, that he was aware of OTHER aircraft that exceeded Mach 1 in dive tests years ago (not sure if it was before the company was bought by Bombardier -- we old timers go back 40+ years...); so that is not even novel. What is new is bragging about it as if it was a selling point.
And descending at Mach 0.94 instead of Mach 0.925 is only 1.5% faster, and could not be sustained anyway. Again: pointless and futile.
A truly beautiful design!
Incredible 👏🏼
Like that blended wing concept - surely the fuselage will be all carbon fibre reinforced plastic. However, at high speed the hull and wings will get hot, so maybe it must be aluminium.
Good work boys!!
MOOOORE THAN FABULOUS - HUMANS AND SPECIALLY MANUFACTURERS ARE AWESOME
THANKS = Bombardier ....
Good video good aircraft
Stunning ❤️
Awesome and amazing!
Tooo nice business jet thanks 👍 for these video amazing
Bombardier needs to increase the window sizes on their smaller Globals. They're laughably small
That’s literally the only aspect where they’re still behind Gulfstream and their humongous windows
@@dragonage200 considering passenger comfort is a priority on a business aircraft, I'd say tiny vs big windows is a major consideration.
I always say, Bombardier should've use the fuselage from the previous Global 8000 concept. It's the right size.
@@anthonyc8499 Foot room is more important for most passengers than window size.
@@dragonage200 No, where did you get that? The latest Gulfstream cabin is longer, wider and taller than the Global 7500/8000. The G700 is likely going to best the range of the Global, and since the fuselage is wider, it can even stand being stretched, something the Global cannot have anymore (not that it matters much, since Bombardier has sold off or laid-off all their design engineering capacity the last few years, so there is no one left to make a new airplane anyway)
yes my flash knowledge is comming handy knowing how fast 1 mach really is
Love
Morphs to military hypersonic scramjet ramjet to circle the world with breathtaking higher speeds for high echelons in flight civil aviation never seen before.
Impressive.
This is the one.
♡♡♡
So Gulfstream is still 1 generation behind, with the G700 only competing with the Global 7500
Nope. The G700 will likely match, and perhaps exceed, the Global in terms of range. It already bests it in terms of fuel consumption and cabin length, width and height.
The Global uses the exact same fuselage cross section that first flew in 1978 with the Challenger. The Gulfstream uses the new fuselage developed for the G650 (first flight 2009).
You're obviously unaware of the months old debut of the G800 and .950 cruise. Check it out.
@@cavaleer G800 is only M.925. And 1 less living space
Welp maybe there will be another G700ER
Price ?
Awesome 😎
Terrific speed!!!.🛫🇰🇪
I'll take one.👊😎👍
Excited about the blended wing body future
4:00 Nice visualization of the shock wave across the wing…
Incredible...it seems to pull the next Global 8500 or 9000 model. It is hard to be patient or buy one. Always be mindful of the crew area.
Great News
Let's Go Canada!
beauty
What a beautiful bird!
I’ll be first in line in 2025 to buy it

One day. 🙏🏾
Vixiiiiiiii, incrível 🙆🏿♂️👀🇧🇷💰🇧🇷
Can't imagine the development tech for the next 5 years
Shows there is no shortage of money out there, it’s just increasingly tied up with the 1% (or for the market for these compensation devices the 0.001%). It’s sad indictment on the world…
WOW!
Nice
She is gorgeous.
It's ronaldo vs messi, nike vs adidas, ps vs Xbox, bombardier vs gulfstream... And we are just living
The 747 exceeded Mach 1 on test flighta
What powers the 8000? Batteries or Petroleum?
It will be SAF 100% capable by the 2025 launch date - so capable of no petroleum (word means from rocks).
It runs on money. Lots of money.
@@andrewsmactips of course. 😁
Is that mach 0.94 max speed or cruise? I’m assuming the former but wanted to confirm.
Yes it is max speed.
Maximum do not exceed. Which means it is not a speed it can reach flying level anyway, only in a dive.
I will own one of these……
Estimate how much it might cost.
300more .i chose 7500that is a perfact machine
Does anyone know how to pay a pilot for a private jet? Let's say I own a Global 8000 and do not need a full-time pilot. I want a pilot for about 5-6 trips a year, at about 1 month each trip. Occasional two or three-day trips CONUS> ad hoc. Are they paid per NM or hourly, daily, etc? Thanks.
I am claiming this jet as mine in Jesus name Amen🙏🙌💫❤️!!!!!
Is it capable of flying LOS-LAX nonstop if so let me start saving up now till 2025…
price anticipated to be close to $80MM! I'll take 2
Ježkovi voči! 😲
SAF compatible ? !
That is putting the question in the wrong perspective. SAF is supposed to be compatible with petroleum based jet-fuel; saying that the engines can burn SAF is bragging about something that is the result of the sustainable aviation fuel production process.
Bravo Bravo Amerika
Bravo Bravo CANADA!
My on vision is onw 1 of thos now
7500 is still good. Seemed 8000 has not much change/ different. It’s just flying distance with longer range non-stop. But no one will fly until hit maximum speed. Average speed round about 600mph anyways to save on cost of aviation kerosene!
Well I'm ready to trade up from my 7500, i use it as a flying motor home.
Forget about Bombardier 7500 or 8000. I wanna fly with Bombardier 9000 super-sonic......I wanna fly from New York to Europe for 4 hours only....lol
Your move Gulfstream.
a single flutter test of the Bombardier GLOBAL 8000 large business jet at or beyond Mach 1.0 won't suffice . . . the duration of the flight at or beyond Mach 1.0 matters . . . also the number of times the flutter test was conducted on the Bombardier GLOBAL 8000 beyond Mach 1.0 speeds and at what altitudes . . .
It is just a prototype!!!!!
As long as they won’t ask the government for bailout !
Government get they fair share in taxes so a bail out would be like a refund
Ok envoyé moi dix-sept avions ultra Luxe en Algérie.

Very impressive aircraft and I wish Bombardier all the best. But, isn't the range of the Gulfstream G800 also 8,000 miles. And, I believe the Cessna Citation X+ can operate at Mach .935 and has flown since 2012. Still, I hate to think that corporate fat cats and other billionaires might face a shortage of great, expensive, airplanes. So, it's good that Bombardier is staying competitive.

Sooooo, this is a joke right ? Are you serious ? They could not even build a full scale mock up, WOW, tragic , yay woow , whatever .
There is absolutely no difference in the structure of the 7500 and 8000. Couple minor changes and a name change.
Relax son I’m sure they have a full scale model in Montreal Canada
What a stupid statement saying " at unpresedented speed". Over 50 years ago the concorde was doing regular flights Paris to New York at mach 1.35 that was unprecedented and its still is
You are trying to compare apples & oranges. Concorde was a supersonic commerical passenger jet. The Bombardier Global 8000 is a near-supersonic private jet. Concordes are now museum pieces because they were old tech & too expensive to maintain.
Bombardier jets look too serious like when you first walk in it is Stright business! The price they asking for this new jet has ugly interior and too much business features i rather buy a Gulfstream!
