    Hi could I use an Avermedia GC573 Live Gamer 4K in one of these Thunderbolt 3 PCIE cases? if so, which one? Im wondering what case it would fit and if i could operate it properly. My Notebook is a MSI GT75VR 7RE. It should hopefully offer the required pci x4 lane. would this setup work?

    Can the Akitio support two Decklink cards? So it can have 8 sdi inputs instead of 4? Or another card that have 4 hdmi inputs? And does akitio have a separate HDMI out?

      We usually recommend cards that have 4 inputs so you have enough PCIe bandwidth, data transfer bandwidth via TB and computing power. I have seen people using 8 input cards, but that's not something we'd recommend.

    Will this new Akitio Box also be fully compatible with the Blackmagic DeckLink Quad 2 (8 channel card) which I believe is PCI Express 8 lane - I know that you have reviewed this card in the past?

      all the capture cards out there are pcie 2.0 he failed to mention that. So the thunderbolt 3 interface is pcie 3.0 x4 . you have plenty of bandwith for the decklink card. check the box specs for fitment. you can use a egpu box also.

      well the 3.0 cards are coming. check this video, you can see it on the table card pcie 3.0 cards specs. ua-cam.com/video/rJsmGeI454s/v-deo.html

    I have a BlackMagic Ultra Studio Mini Recorder and upgraded to a new MacBook Pro with 4 thunderbolt 3 ports. I can't find anything that will allow me to convert from the thunderbolt 2 output of the BM recorder to the thunderbolt 3 of the MBP. All the devices seem to be for external video display and are therefor one way out of the MBP. Any suggestions?

    I've tried this same idea with an Elgato 4k60 Pro and the Asus ROG XG Station 2. The computer recognizes that the is a thunderbolt device connected, but that's it. Can't get any software to read it as a capture card and can't get the input from the console to display from the capture card to a monitor. Any ideas?

      Hi not too sure what the problem might be. We haven't had any trouble across a number of different brands of external enclosures, but we haven't tried the XG Station 2. Have you spoken to ASUS about it? They may be able to help you out. Usually once you've allowed the device in your settings, you should able to then see the card like you normally would if was a PCIe card in your motherboard.

      @@vMixhd ASUS was unable to help, if I remember correctly there response was essentially, "we don't know." I tried on two different PCs, one where all PCIe slots were already occupied so I thought maybe there weren't enough lanes (can't remember if that's the right word) available for the PC to properly recognize the Elgato. The second PC works when the Elgato is seated directly on the MOBO but responds the same way when mounted in the external dock. PC recognizes something via thunderbolt but that's it, can't get it to do anything. No worries if you don't find a solution, I've been trying for a couple years with no luck.

    anywhere to see minimum machine requirements for stable use of AJA Io 4K Plus on a laptop? 1080p max no 4K

      A good gaming laptop that supports Thunderbolt 3 would be the best way to go. We have a couple of models on our website here- www.vmix.com/products/vmix-reference-systems.aspx#sapphire. For the best performance in vMix we recommend having a G-Sync laptop, at least an i7 CPU and a dedicated Nvidia GPU (1060/2060 or higher). This would allow you to do 4x HD inputs with the IO4K Plus.

    My laptop support USB type C....so can i use this box?

    • @vMixhd
      @vMixhd  6 років тому

      Thunderbolt 3 and USB C use the same port, but the computer will still need to support Thunderbolt. Check the computer specs or contact the manufacturer to see if it supports Thunderbolt 3.
