Soft naturals don't always get the best inspiration so thanks for making this not the typical bohemian focused. I like to look at SNs like Kate Hudson, Chloe Sevigny, Chrissy Teigan & Matilda Djorf for out the box inspo that still honors the SN lines & essence.

My latest video is a summer version but with a different color palette! You might be able to draw some inspiration even if you don’t vibe with the colors 🥰
Recently found out I'm a soft natural and not a romantic type as I mistakenly believed. Loved the suggestions, but would say for those who are top heavy, and most soft naturals are, turtleneck tops are often hard to find flattering. The most "closed" neck option I've gotten away with is a crew neck.
That’s true! They don’t work well for me at all (Flamboyant Natural). It really depends on the individual since SN can vary a lot in their level of “width.” I also find turtlenecks are a love it or hate it type of thing and a lot of times it’s style/essence driven rather than a fit issue. They work best more universally for Naturals as a layering piece with a relaxed button down or jacket layered over top.
I could not click this video fast enough.😊😊🎉🎉❤❤ Another soft natural here. Bright Spring. I really appreciate this video. You were able to capture so much here. I found all recommendations are valuable as a guide and I especially liked the descriptive words. It’s really helpful. I am in love with cut out turtleneck and the green bag and sequin shoes. Oh my. Thank you so much. My most recent style discovery are slightly ballooned sleeves as in the cardigan you showed. I now own two sweaters with SLIGHTLY ballooned sleeves and I do not know why but, man , they look great on my SN body. Thank you so much!! I have to watch it again now:))))
Ooh I will have to add a SN video for the Bright Spring color type for you! I’m so glad you found the recommendations useful! I think the slight balloon sleeve is great because it adds a little volume around the hip area when your arms are relaxed, which balances the SN shape really well! It’s also a slightly rounded and relaxed shape too which is perfect 🤩
LOVE THIS! I previously thought I was a soft classic but the more I move through my kibbe journey, I feel like I may be a soft natural instead so I have been looking for videos and inspo and this has been my favorite by far! After watching your two videos (soft classic and soft natural) I can definitely say that I am soft natural. I could immediately see that these are the type of clothes that suit me better and I always instinctively choose to wear. So glad you appreciate it! I agree, the Kibbe stereotypes can be so tiring and unfortunately they can turn people off from this really useful way of thinking about clothing!
So glad you found it useful! Turtlenecks are definitely a love-it-or-hate-it type of thing. I personally don't like them on myself either. The turtleneck can definitely be swapped for any other simple base layer that you prefer! Crew necks or v-necks would be great alternates for a Soft Natural!
I am a SN (Soft Summer) I would probably describe my style as "Dance Teacher" as I like movement and flow in my clothes, I loved you close fitting black keyhole cutout top and black flowing skirt combo, a silhouette I love, very "Dance Teacher". I would have put it with black high heel strappy dance shoes, but you put it with black cowboy boots! Wow! Very unexpected, but works brilliantly. Perfect for line dancing classes :) Initially, I wasn't sure if I was a Soft Classic, but I find it a bit too boring and matronly on me. Soft Natural has a bit more flow and flare and I like that I can add a flambouyant / dramatic touch which if expressed as a dance and dance dress would be all the hot Latin American dances - the Tango, Samba, Cha Cha. Thank you.
Hey Alyssa! Loved your suggestions. Could you suggest some outfits for soft natural with soft winter? From the 12 seasons system I found myself between soft summer and deep winter types - not suitable for too dark or too pale colors. I would love to know your take on it!
I'm pretty sure I'm SN. All of the pants you recommend would work on me but several of the tops don't. I cannot wear a turtleneck (looks and feels restrictive) or anything asymmetrical (looks off-balance on me). And blazers end up looking too boxy, in general. I do like your approach to selecting a colour palette, building on several neutrals with one accent colour. One suggestion I have for future similar videos is for you to suggest options. For instance, if a person doesn't like/suit or can't find a colour or item, what could she look for instead?
I love all these descriptions and pieces! But I also find that 99% of the time, I need an open neckline. The 1% other times, I used to like a slim turtleneck (which was cool to see you incorporate). So I’m curious about your view on necklines with soft naturals!
I'm SN and wow! Well done! I can confirm these recommendations are perfect! I have similar pices in mostly black. Anything you'd recommend particularly for a SN that gets mistaken for a pure dramatic?
So glad you can relate to the recommendations! I feel like I would have to see you to understand exactly how you are being mistaken for pure Dramatic, but I would say perhaps you could embrace slightly more structured or close-fitting looks within the SN range, and play a bit more with your vertical line by creating monochromatic or tonal looks. Did you make this for me?! I'm a soft natural autum and literally wearing a cardigan just like that one. Kinda struggling to move away from millennial skinny jeans though...
I'm so glad you relate! Do you want to move on from skinny jeans or do you still like them? If you still like them you can totally modernize them with a few styling tweaks! Chunky loafers or chunky boots are a no-brainer. Lydia Tomlinson did an amazing job with her recent video on this - I love her idea of layering sheer tights or sheer socks with a heel underneath skinny jeans. Makes a super cool and edgy twist! ua-cam.com/video/W8zGZkvecrw/v-deo.html
I read that SNs can be up to 5’8” which I wouldn’t consider short. I’m saying this because I keep getting a SN result but am not short like you say. Could someone clarify? ❤ amazing video. Thank you !
SNs don't have to be "short" by a certain standard but they do not have to accommodate vertical. If you have to accommodate vertical, and you are in the Natural family, then you will be a Flamboyant Natural. And if you DM me on Instagram I would be happy to give you a discount code 🥰 waardrobe.com/services/body-type-and-color-analysis
I’ve been identified as a soft natural with a primary angelic essence. Complimentary essences are natural and romantic. I’m still lost when it comes to styling. Not sure where to begin. If we know our body type, what service option should I choose?
I think the 25-Item Capsule Wardrobe and Full Image Analysis would be best for you, but unfortunately openings are quite rare. If you'd like you can join the wait list! And I'm always happy to help out informally over on Instagram where it is easier for us to share photos with each other. You can find me @waardrobe_ 🥰
I’m pure Natural , leaning a bit (and a very small bit) towards Soft. In my younger years, I was very thin, appropriately 5’7”, but always had that “inverted triangle” body type. I never understood how women could have small waists as it seemed impossible to achieve because I knew it wasn’t simply a matter of “dieting” as I was already as slender as I possibly could be as a 20 something (110 pounds, give or take). Now I’m much older (and heavier!) and trying to come to terms with my post menopausal body, but the Kibbe system has finally freed me from the tyranny of trying to “balance” my body with clothes which do not suit me.
I’m a Natural (leaning toward FN) with a winter color type too! If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out my Instagram @waardrobe_ 🥰 I will also put SN + Deep Winter on my list for future videos!
Can someone help me figure out what kibbe body type i am? I'm 165cm (5'5), slender with broader shoulder than hips (kind of top heavy body overall), skinny legs, long skinny arms (have gained some fat on the upper arms), very feminine hands, normal feets, small head compare to body, oval/oblong face, long nose, small eyes and lips. (i'm a girl)
Personally, I don't like to think of the face as being separate from the body. But yes! You could still be Soft Natural even if your face leans more Dramatic.
I’m not seeing how the outfits honor SN’s pronounced yin undercurrent. Kibbe describes the look SN should go for as ‘fresh and sensual lady,’ aka the ‘girl-next-door’ which interpret as a more feminine version of pure natural. The way the palette is used and some of the pieces create more yang and don’t appear to honor the unique yin/yang balance of a SN. Ofc we only see the clothes and not the curves of a SN body on them, or the soft hair and makeup to complete the look, so perhaps they could still work.
All of the capsules on my channel were created for real women, so while body types are part of the foundation of the selections, personal style and functionality sometimes win out. I totally understand where you are coming from though!
I don't think they're necessarily a home run for every SN, but they are loved by a lot of my SN clients. They don’t work well for me at all (Flamboyant Natural). It really depends on the individual since SN can vary a lot in their level of “width" (i.e. the more width you have in your personal proportions, the less flattering turtlenecks and other close/tight necklines can become). I also find turtlenecks are a love it or hate it type of thing and a lot of times it’s style/essence driven rather than a fit issue. They work best more universally for Naturals as a layering piece with a relaxed button down or jacket layered over top.
Some of these pieces dont feel suitable for a soft natural. For example, the tight turtle neck with the diagonal cutout would hug the body too much. The soft natural does best with somewhat loose fits, definitely nothing skin tight/bodycon etc. The band tee is at the other end of the spectrum as it is way too loose and the SN curve is lost. The SN color suggestions were entirely dismissed. Yes, everyone has unique coloring, but is that a reason to throw the color recs out the window? Even a deep winter could choose the lighter side of their palette to work within the parameters. I understand breaking rules and dressing for yourself, but then why following the kibbe system to begin with?
The foundation of every great wardrobe starts with understanding your body type and your color type. It’s less about following a system and more about understanding why certain fits, shapes, proportions, or colors work better for you. This client didn’t like light colors, and felt good in a tight turtleneck. Turtlenecks are quite polarizing but they do look good on many soft naturals: JLo and Kim Kardashian are a couple of celebrities that come to mind. Ultimately knowledge about color and body type are your foundation but preference wins out when developing personal style. Like any form of art, you have to learn the basics first, then you break the rules in well considered ways to make it your own.
Many of the outfits Kibbe shows on Strictly Kibbe are skin tight, Kibbe never forbids you from wearing anything, that's misinformation, not everyone would look the same in one outfit neither

I kindly request you to please make a video on kibbe soft natural body type and olive skin undertones❤❤
Take care 💞
Hi Alyssa! Could you make a video about soft gamine deep winter please? Thank you🙏 !
I’ll add it to my list!
Just posted a Soft Gamine + Winter color type capsule! I hope you find some inspiration! 🥰
@@alyssarudman that’s great! Thank you very much, I’ll watch it right away 💜
Thank you sooo muchhh❤❤
I think another great example of a soft natural is Camilla Parker
Please, can you do the same vídeo for the natural pure?!
Sure! I will put it on the calendar! 🥰
If you'd like to get my opinion on your type, you can book my affordable color and body typing service! And if you DM me on Instagram I would be happy to give you a discount code 🥰 waardrobe.com/services/body-type-and-color-analysis
Can you please do flamboyant natural body type next?
Yep! FN is in the works as we speak!
Can you do a casual looks for soft dramatic with ingenue essence?
I'll add it to the list! Any particular color type? I have a Soft Dramatic, Classic Essence video coming up in the first half of the year too.
@@alyssarudman true winter cool bright. Yes I saw that video and I screen shots every outfits. Lol 👍💞🤣
Is it possible to be in between a
soft natural and flamboyant natural
Yes! You could be pure natural 🥰 Most people lean at least slightly toward Soft or Flamboyant, though.
Very usefull thank you
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Requests are always welcome 🥰
I feel like I'm between this and a theoretical natural just because of the slightly long vertical line with a enguine /gamane/natural face
If you ever want help confirming your type, I’m happy to help! 🥰
It’s so hard to find SN lines for my deep winter Color type 😢
I’m a Natural (leaning toward FN) with a winter color type too! If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out my Instagram @waardrobe_ 🥰 I will also put SN + Deep Winter on my list for future videos!
Yassssssssssss!
You're the best! 🥰
DM me on Instagram! @waardrobe_
Can you be a soft natural body type with a dramatic face? I seem to have that!
Personally, I don't like to think of the face as being separate from the body. But yes! You could still be Soft Natural even if your face leans more Dramatic.
Theatrical romantic, Deep Winter please 🙏
I have had a few requests for a Theatrical Romantic, Soft Autumn video, so that's coming up soon. But I will add a Deep Winter one to my calendar too!
@@alyssarudman can't wait!!
Soft Autumn Theatrical Romantic video went out today! 🥰 Will definitely do a Deep Winter one in the future!
I read Fergie was intended as Sarah Ferguson
I would still place Fergie as SN, but what do you think?
i don’t if It’s because I live in a tropical country, but here consultants don’t recomend turtle neck for SN… What do you think?

Me waiting on Dramatic
😅 it's on the calendar for March!
Dramatic video just went up!
I thought I was a soft famine because I am small but I have broad frame. I think I am a soft natural. I am also a deep winter. My color palette is not soft.
If you want a second opinion on your body type you can always DM me on Instagram @waardrobe_ 🥰
@@alyssarudman I will prepare some fotos. Thank you!
@@Taichientaoyin Any time!
Im a soft natural but my very short height make it so difficult for me to find proper clothes 😩 😭
I feel you!! What is your height?
@@alyssarudman 4'11(150 cm) I truly don't identity as any of the gamine types , but when I've read about soft naturals I felt literally included except for the height
You can ignore Kibbe's height restrictions for the most part - they don't always apply in my experience. If you want a second opinion on your body type, feel free to DM me on Instagram instagram.com/waardrobe_/
5:35 turtle neck on a body type that’s too heavy? As a soft natural one piece of clothing i stay absolutely clear of
They are very controversial that’s for sure! I’m FN and I hate turtlenecks on me, they definitely aren’t a guaranteed win for all Naturals but they do look great on many as well.
I dont know im natural, soft natural, or flamboyan natural :/
