I have that exact model. Bought it as an inexpensive backup, thinking I'd upgrade it if necessary. Nope. Sounds good stock, and it gets a lot of use. Very versatile!
Thanks for the clean sounds presentation. It will help me make my decision. I don't get it why people bitch about lack of gain, when most reviews of Ibanez guitars show how guitar sounds with distortion, and there a very few showing clean sounds.
Question. Is it worth taking a 10 year old RG421QM and putting a Seymour Duncan Black Winter in the bridge? I want to make some upgrades but I can't afford a new guitar
Good review. I don’t know why more guitar makers always make the coil split way quieter than the humbucker, might be ok for the studio but it’s not good for live playing
I really wish this guitar had a trem, it’s the first guitar in the Ibanez lineup to feature a wizard neck, but no trem just makes me sad and kind of “second guessy”
Never buy a guitar online if you don't have to for this reason. Every guitar ever made has the chance to be made with imperfections because humans put the together. You have to actually play it for a bit before knowing exactly what you're getting.
@@sonavagun9283 That's true , unfortunately I don't have any choice. The nearest GC is a 35 min ride and they have limited stock. I ended up getting it replaced , I buy my guitars from zZounds and usually there's never a problem. I've bought at least 5 and this is the first one that was defective...
Same story with the blue rg7 I got. Tone knob did not turn smoothly and could not be turned in playing position. Pick ups sounded like ass. Sloppy craftsmanship on the nut. Returned that and I got this. Hoping this works out better. I bought a 200 Ibanez gio 6 string and that guitar was absolutely perfect out of the box other than action was comically high. Neck is perfect. so had high expectations for mid range Ibanez. I’m actually amazed with the 200 gio and I own some pretty high end guitars. New nut and pickups and that thing can compete with high end guitars.
@@dirtyoliver1180 I think that happens with every brand , more so with Gibson though. You get a lemon here and there , i own 3 Ibanez"s in different price ranges. Except for the defective one that got replaced , iv'e had no other issue's with QC....

The review was just fine...Should have done a riff or two with some gain. That's why most buy an Ibanez :) thanks man! Good review
Since all the other reviews are mostly with Distortion
It's helpful to know how it sounds on clean.
Thanks for the helpful review👍
Man foreal i been searching for one

It's my Guitar!! I've bought it last week. I'm so happy with it!
2 mins in that’s definitely the tone used on Golden Axe for the Mega Drive
Thank you for the review and the explanation of the wiring!
Thank you for this very helpful demo
Looks great except for the MEDIUM BROWN FRETBOARD
That would look awesome with an ebony board!
It looks okay, i’d prefer a darker one
Whatever colour the fretboard maybe but playing it colour doesnt even matter and wont even be a bother
I dont know guys but my exact same model is not that brown , actually it looks bit darker and decent in real life :D
Just put mineral oil on it.

Wheres the distortion?
thats a lovely clean tone if you ask me
Position one and two sound the same to me?
Sold this guitar for an epiphone les paul, hated this one
Yeah but we want GAIN
Is this model set thru neck

is it possible to install EMG's 81/85?
I can't tell the difference between all the different humbucker switch settings😅😢i think it's a placebo, it seems like pretending.
Can it chug tho?
lol, I cannot hear much difference between neck serial vs parallel
I think iv'e got a defective one , my pickups sound way to muddled and my tone knob doesn't turn smoothly..

Hello, this guitar or yamaha 120h pacifica?
This guitar definitely.
Really?? No overdrive?????? It's an RG for God sake, that's like testing a race car at the McDonald's drive thru
That g strang in toon?
makes a review without overdrive, lol
But all the other reviews are with alot of gain this is very helpful
No metal and it’s a Ibanez 😐
Maybe if it was a pedal review
Who wants to play an clean ibanez? Gain plz
Showing with a clean sound gives an honest sound from the guitar instead of the effect on the particular amp
AHM or MSP?
MSP it has got mahogany body
awfull demo of a great instrument(
Thank you for your feedback. What can we do to make this video better?
@Unfiltered Truth exactly

I like the fact the demo includes a lot of clean sounds, to prove that this guitar isn't just for high gain shredders!
@@barrycreed9886 i hate sherdding and distortion
