- Jim Frogley (owner/operator) at the controls of his beloved Beaver BBX spreading lime over the very steep East Coast farmland. Filmed near Mohaka NZ, it was made possible by a telephone call the night before!!
With thanks to Jim and his permission to film and photograph him in what is now the last Beaver agricultural aircraft in the world! Jim even took time-out to show me on his map some gr8 positions on nearby farm tracks for a "run-by", no he said "run-by's"!!!!!
ENJOY the sound and the close-up footage.
I love how the Beaver sinks each time he goes off the end of the runway during takeoff. The old girl is not quite to flying speed with that heavy load on her, but within a few seconds she starts climbing. So beautiful!!!
Thanks so much for this historic footage.
Good stuff.
Legend
What a plane i went up in these super spreading in NSW as a kid they are my dream plane as a pilot and I will get one soon
The time has come Jim, don't let it go over seas.
Jim, dont let this one go overseas when your finished with it.
yes very sad day to here it is destin for scrap
Unfortunately, this aircraft was involved in a landing mishap and is now destined for the scrap yard.
REBUILD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what we all want, but Jim Frogley is getting older and has decided against it.
Tell him to sell it on the proviso, it's going to get rebuilt, don't let it end up as a heap in the shed like the Avro. We're all getting older, he's my age (or was when at Bridge Pa)....and thats not old.
