In this CURSED video, I play and discuss why Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare (PVZ GW) is one of the best shooter games ever made, that everyone forgot existed. Despite this game having 0 players, modes like Gardens and Graveyards and Garden Ops are still really fun. This game includes the characters: Peashooter, Sunflower, Chomper, Cactus, Foot Soldier, Engineer, Scientist and All Star. Not the Engineer from TF2 though. That is a different game. This video essay will make you feel nostalgic, but it's also really funny so you might laugh once or twice.

I have 800h in this game and still play it nearly everyday with my friends, we get lobbies most of the time, but only at right times. We also have an discord with like 1200 members. So the game isnt so dead. The only thing is, that if you load into a lobby, you recognize like 10 names.

This game made my late childhood, I maxed out everything for this game. It was truly incredible. I still play GW2 as it has a relatively active player base

@@talzubareff7137 you can still play both GW 1 and 2 as the servers are up. However for GW1 you can only find matches in gardens and graveyards. But for GW2 it is still very active and you can find full lobbies for any game mode. So neither one has died.

thinking about this game brings me to tears. its such a hidden gem, it will never grow old to me. i remember, i was 7 years old at the time, got it a month after it released and it was AMAZING. the game still is really fun, but back in the prime time , servers were always packed and it was an amazing experience. i have never been so passionate for a game series in my entire life, plants vs zombies as a whole is truly amazing. i cannot believe what popcap has turned the franchise into in recent years, it genuinely feels like theres a hole in my heart.

This game is truly beautiful for it's unique mechanics and and strangely high depth . Huge variation and good progression which isn't too pay to win but you can't get everything in a week of gaming

I think I remember the Chemist being so overpowered. His shotgun did decent damage (I think kills in 3-4 hits) but the biggest part of the Chemist was that his shotgun COULD NOT miss as long as your crosshairs are somewhat next to the enemy.
And Biologist killed in I think 2-3 shots but your shots are much harder to land.
The painter turned engineer’s gun into a high damage sniper rifle.
Bandit Cactus turned your sniper rifle into an assault rifle.
Hot Rod Chomper was my go-to because speed boost after getting a kill was super useful if you’re being stealthy.
i actually bought this like 2 months ago to relive it. the opening is perfect, gw1 is easily one of the greatest games ever made. pc still has active servers, unbelievable. gs&gs and tv are still super active
This video convinced me to come back to pvz gw1, and I actually found a full lobby of team vanquish(console)! I’m optimistic about the future of this game. If less UA-camrs said that the game was dead, perhaps the entire community can celebrate its 10-year anniversary next year. :)

This one was better than any other garden warfare that came afterwards, the fact that you had diferent elements to choose from made it amazing and fun. Thats what the ones that came later lack
GW2 is way better than GW since it has way more to offer. It has more classes and variants, legendary characters, more things to do offline and other stuff
Garden warfare 2 has all the old variants and added even MORE. As much as i love the first garden warfare, garden warfare 2 is just a direct upgrade.

Garden Warfare will forever be my favourite shooter of all time, it has such a unique personality and style, honestly I never got that hooked with a shooter apart from BO2 which stays far behind from this one, I remember playing countless hours on summer as a teen when GW2 was announced to get the unicorn chomper and I also got very good, what good memories. Now I play GW2 with my sister on pc and actually is pretty alive, more often than not we are in full lobbies, and rarely come across hackers. It's good to still be able to play such an amazing game today
The one thing I liked the most about GW2 is the offline capabilities. Sure, you're playing with bots, but they let you customized the teams on both sides, and you can adjust their difficulty to your liking. Plus, it is a kinda good training ground, especially when you realized that the bots are (sometimes) smarter than most players. Also, they still let you earn stuff as if you are playing online. This is more apparent for console owners, since online multiplayer is tied to subscriptions.

This game brought me so much fun and enjoyment even before playing it, I was obsessed with watching gameplay and commentary videos on UA-cam of this game, watching videos showcasing variants of characters or just having fun, and then I got a console and with it I bought this game, and I did not regret it one bit

The pure chaos and stress with the adrenaline made it so fun to shred down waves of random zombies with your friends

One thing that I really like about Garden Warfare, is that it took a lot of inspiration from TF2, yet managed to do it in such an unique and different way.

So glad to see coverage of such happy memories as a kid :) remember coming home from school and playing until midnight with 8+ friends. Such a shame that they took a lot of the best parts out in bfn but hope they’ll bring out a new game with everything the player base loved

I remember this was the only game I wanted to play after I had played the original titles and saw it plastered on a local gaming newspaper…finally got it to my xbox 360 and it was everything I wanted and more! The characters and their variations, the maps and (most) of the game modes it was crazy! Sadly it seems like most people has moved on from it and I guess it’s only a matter of time till the second one also goes the down the same way…but it will always have a special place in my heart.

This game was actually my whole childhood. I remember coming home and jumping straight on the Xbox to play this for hours, and when I died raging and eating a bowl of ice cream.

Glad to see this game hasn't changed. I've played it recently on the PS3 and it's absolutely fun still even when I was 5. It's true, the fun is definitely still there, and yes you'll run into the occasional sweat as it is with every shooter, but other than that, everything MewZe said in this video is true. It's a delight to come back to.

This is the best video i have seen since i played it, this was one of my childhood games, im sixteen now and i played this back with i was around 9-10 im not even sure but before fortnite came out and i would still play this but im in oce severs do legit no one plays this anymore, please i hope they make a remake but same everything on this game, miss it so much man
God, I remember ramdomdly finding this gem throught a letsplayer intro while wavhing his PVZ2 videos, I when crazy, waching all the trailers over and over again as well as any gameplay I could find, and the day they got me the game, I ran around the house yelling out of happiness for like, 10 minutes
Seeing a video praising this game is so nice cuz it was absolutely the best when I was playing it as a kid all those years ago. I’ve been considering getting it on PC (so I don’t have to pay for xbox live, and also to start fresh) so I’m glad you showed the condition of the game currently. This was my FAVORITE game back then. I was smiling, laughing, just all positivity from this video. It brought be back to when I played this game in 2014 on a PC that could BARELY run it. I truly miss this game and I've tried to go back on GW, but it is unfortunate that only Gardens and Graveyards is the only "active" mode. Sucks that not many people play/not even heard of it anymore, but I am really happy that people loved this game as much as I did years ago. Great video and amazing editing!

When I sold every game for my PS3, this is the only one I kept. It's so damn fun that I just had to keep it, easily one of the best shooters ever made. I hope it gets a resurgence after this video gets popular.

This was my childhood% I absolutely loved this game. To this day I haven’t found a game that brought me the same amount of joy for so long. This is my favorite video game of all time. It’s absolutely perfect. I’m genuinely tearing up thinking about how this game has died out, compared to than.
it's always really funny to see teenagers growing up and feeling the full bite of "old thing good new thing bad" that they never thought would happen to them. I was (basically) an adult when the Wii came out, myself.
Interestingly, this "skin that also makes the character play entirely different" was a concept used in the failed DC MOBA, Infinite Crisis. Each skin was an AU version of the superhero/villain, and each one of them played differently and had completely different roles. It was absolutely, utterly freaking GENIUS. Neat to see they also did that with this game, even though I was too busy with other things and never did get into PvZ. Always kinda cool to see people a good 10+ years younger than me reminiscing like DECREPIT SKELETON PEOPLE
God damn, you got me teared up, this game was legendary as a kid, i never had an xbox or a playstation3, so i always went to my friemds house to play, hours and hours of fun, this channel was a lot of potential, keep it up!

they've all moved to GW2.
This video couldn't be more one sided and misleading. The only platforms where this game is actually close to dead are both pc version and the xbox 360 version, and even then it's just a matter of playing at the right hours. Pretty much every other version is still throbbing with players, even the goddamn ps3 version which by the way, not only is it still pretty darn active to this day, but also has an argument for being the most active version of them all, a testament to the power of free online play.

Loved the Xbox 360 style opening and the new version of the ending tune. Of the few times I player GW, it's exactly what you said: fun. Quite unbalanced but a lot of fun in a colorful and weird setting.
I got back into this game pretty recently and got all my boys back on too and we're all having a blast. It's a game where you can't rage and it's all just pure fun. amazing video. though gotta say the scientist is underrated, I use the paleontologist and he's crazy, I use him as a sniper.
The video is great and all, but you know what I found even greater? The fact that this guy went out of his way to CREDIT the used music in the video! That is such a rare - rare - rare thing to see! Immediate respect. Immediate sub.

On Xbox you can usually get full lobbies in a decent amount of modes at certain times which is nice, amazing game and video!
Xbox is still active and you get a server almost instantly. Wild timing because I got back into the game a few days ago and was so happy to see that the servers were still active

Love that my phone listens to me, cause I re-installed Garden Warfare (since it was on gamepass) and now I got this video. Unfortunately when I first played it was under my mother's email on the PS3 so I don't have all my old stuff. Rest in piece Fire Chomper ;-;
PvZ Garden Warfare was one of the best FPS games of all time. I’d definitely put it in the top 5. It’s so fun without feeling like a chore to unlock stuff, and every character felt unique and balanced. I went crazy with the Engineer (Painter variant? I think), I easily went 30 - 0 almost every game just “sniping” and using the flyable turret / buildable turrets, I had a lot of clutch teleporter spots too.
I used to play this game whenever i could when i was young, absolutley loved it! This video gave me so much nostalgia
Been playing this game on and off since it came out, so much fun to just play a match or two every now and then, you never feel like you need to keep up with a meta or play a lot to be good

this game is an absolute treasure, and GW2 is probably one of my favorite shooters out there, for someone who normally isn't into any of them! i really hope that someday, maybe, we'll get another garden warfare game, or at least another PvZ shooter

Chompers biggest weakness is fighting by himself when there’s 3 people trying to kill you, he’s not a crowd control and can be hard to play correctly, as you’re not supposed to fight enemies when exposed

I remember playing this game before school, PVZ is my favorite childhood franchise manly due to this and its sequel being always present in my xbox days. The og PVZ was introduced to me by my mom who i barely saw when i was a kid which eventuallyled me to some of the most fun of my whole life. This game.
Garden Warfare was the first shooter I've played, all the way since 2014, this is one the best shooters I've played, the variants give it a massive replay value and make all match ups unexpected. The maps have an amazing design.
I love how the in the Gardens and Graveyard maps have secret or longer routes that usually leads you to the enemy spawn and pretty much will make stealth and optional and fun if you wanna piss people off.
And the game has a rather decent balancing, rarely characters are busted (just Super Commando, Toxic Pea and Future Cactus being SS+).
And in this game getting Vanquish Streaks feels more extreme than GW2, and my record is 67, which is where strategy comes in the spotlight. (You got healed un the 50% of your health, and made medics VITAL)
I'll say Ranks are the worst thing of this game, in Xbox 360° I was rank 131, and I decimated max rank players by a long shot. Making rank just a mere skin more than a badge to strike fear.
the only problem i have is the respawn system and the balancing on the characters you listed along with most of the scientists
@@BucketIHead scientists were annoying AF, Astronaut, Paleo and got how unforgiving was REG scientist with the fact that there was only 50% health regen, all were one shot...

I think you might like the sequel.... also great video but you probably should've mentioned the music cuz that slaps but it does even more in garden warfare 2, specifically in gnome time. i remember playing this game back in 2016 with one of my school friends at his house. i only got to experience playing it maybe once or twice, but it was a blast and is something i remember to this day.
And sometimes with the wallnut, there is a low chance that if the zombie eats it, he dies because of peanut allergies, which is interesting, but in real life, your cheeks would puff up alongside some other things, but still a cool interesting detail.

the best thing about it is coming home on the weekend, no fortnite, no cod for me at the time and just booting this up or minecraft for xbox 1. just a different time for me entirely. I didn;t care about anything, didn't have much homework and would grind to get all the unlockable things. I never even spent money on it. I did get all of the base characters and unlocked a ton of variants but unfortunately the disk that has all of that stuff on it is scratched, and honestly done. My Xbox is not ina great condition either so I will probably never be able to play on that unless I get another xbox 1 and have someone refurbish the disc if thats even an option.

i remember playing the first game back in middle school and i was GRINDING the hell out of this game just to open the cardd packs. when the second game came out i was so disappointed to see how much less people were playing and the lobbies were never full. I wish the game was more popular because the characters had such creative abilities and the chaos made every game refreshing. One of the best games on the xbox 360

When I was younger I was obsessed with the game. I asked it as a birthday gift. My father searched up every gaming store and ended up ordering it in one. I spent 100+ hours in it and unlocked every character. Sunflower is an absolute queen.
If you get the remastered edition on ea play you can find a bunch of people still playing to this day.
