More towns need to do things like that, looks like great fun for all ages.
Looking great! I'm glad the weather is holding for you. Also glad to see you using the ice and water shield!
JOB EXTREMELY WELL DONE! My Hubby and I look several times a day for a video to see the next AMAZING thing you are doing for your family! Your BEAUTIFUL wife is sooooooooooo BLESSED to have YOU! Thank you again for sharing daily your progress and life! ✝️
Thank you for watching!
What an amazing journey; all the practical "Principles of Intelligence" you have attained in this life; consider the future applications with their endless possibilities!
The towns and medium-sized cities I have lived in did not have fireworks for xmas. That surprised me. Very cute parade also. I love the small town simplicity and joy of community.
Thank you for all of your videos they are great
Great progress sir... You are a great inspiration for a lot of people trying to make a move out of the city life.
I love your dedication and I pray for your safety. It is scary watching you do this. When your family is all safe and snug inside the house you built, it will be worth it.
I admire your craftsmanship and hard work. You are making great progress. Please invest in some safety gear. Your family needs you.
Man. I absolutely admire how you consistently strive to 'overkill' things. Seriously, I don't believe there's such a thing as 'overdoing it' for oneself. Period. 'Good enough' don't cut it for me. 'Craftsmen' are fast becoming a dying breed.
Looking good.. Look forward to seeing the tin roofing in place.
Ohh Thank you very much for also sharing the parade n fireworks. Your amazing also still doing all you have done n are doing!! God bless n safety !!!
New to the channel but really enjoying the story and progress on the home build! Please look into buying one of the rooftop safety harness available at home Depot in the roofing aisle for $100. Even though you are finishing with the roof soon the kit can be use for other elevated work such as the siding. Good job!
Great job. Hang in there. Once finished, it will be something to be proud of and a personal accomplishment.
Fantastic Job 👍👍👍‼️ Nice Work, enjoy watching a job done the right way‼️ Just Work Safe. Vinny 🇺🇸
Use a 4 inch pipe in the aattic and then run your 2 inch thru the roof, gives a large resevoir of air for high use times. House is really coming along nicely going to be nice place whrn finnished.
i is a plumber .
Your doing it right....Get the best tin ya can. Oh and remember to buckle up buddy. Thanks for the videos I'm enjoying them a great deal. I watch a lot of "homesteading" type videos and your's rings true...Any tradesman would agree that redoing a job is a killer. Good enough for government work just doesn't belong on ones home....
Its looking good. Once the tin is down and the ridge flashing is on you will feel better!
Still trucking along, got the faith you'll get it dried in before bad weather.
very good job well done nice family time
The house is coming along beautifully. Great job. :)
Great work and incredible progress! Thanks for sharing, STAY SAFE ON THAT ROOF TIE THE ROPE ROUND YOUR WAIST! I was gasping watching you walk in reverse toward the edge of that roof.
It's looking great
DUDE!!! Yer already wearing your safety belt! :) Tie a series of large carabiners to your rope. maybe a foot apart. Then you can clip or unclip to/from your toolbelt, wherever, and whenever needed as you move up and down the roof.
Nice, down time with family.
I just started watching. Love your overkill. A job done right and to last!!
Love the videos, we all want more. Please be safe!
Nice to see you with a nice carpenters pouch finally... I was just about to send you one LOL
Looking good!
Thx for the video.
Good job
That is just so freaking awesome that you get that sort of event to attend in little towns like that. We don't get such public things very often in big cities here. Sometimes some little events but nothing like that. Also looking good on the home build. I found your excavator video last night and decided "I could use another offgrid homestead build channel to watch" and here I am subscribed. Like it so far. :)
I do like this chap's videos he is doing a sterling job all by himself, but the poor so and so has obviously let the solitude get to his mind if he thinks that is a safety harness !!
(in England where I live I've never seen a roofer wearing any kind of harness)
brother where do I send your harness ive got one in the shop it's yours if u want it.
Loved the fireworks at the end too.. As always very useful infos we got from u today..thx
We won't tell Cedar you jumped onto your truck from the roof. ✊🏻
What a wonderful!!!
You're good builder..
My family name " hong"
I live in South Korea.
I built my house with wife two months ago that two story, gable roof, 20ft × 30ft. Cement siding.
I don't now how you do it. STAY SAVE and MERRY CHRISTMAS To YOU AND YOUR FAMILY..
Super super nice work again !!! , glad you and your fam got to get out have fun and fam .time ...
I was going to ask if we can get a look at his place, and then you zoomed in, would still be nice to have a good look.
you are cheating on the safety.....love your progress, ideals and your family.....don't jeopardize.........stay safe.........
you're lucky you don't have snow yet! we've already got about 6ft where i'm at lol, nothing worse than working on a roof with snow!
Six feet? Wow, do you live in Buffalo?
When I installed my extra vent flashing. The instructions said not to seal the bottom portion. I don't know if it is important . But I do not have any leaks and it has been there for a couple years. I am sure you know being a plumber but thought I would share. Hate to see you run into any problems. Heck I HOPE I DON'T !!!! :)
So I haven't watched anything in a while so I figured I would just go back to the start, and it's inasine seeing how this all started even though I was back here when it started off
When your wife saw this did she scold you for not wearing a safety harness?
HAH! AT LAST YOU ARE WEARING A TOOL BELT LOL
Our parade didn't have fireworks.. nice idea.
Those boots are going to work fine until you put the roofing on and realize that there is a flexible rubber boot specifically for metal roofs that goes over the top of the roofing......They are perfect for a temp setup but that caulking will make it tough to tear apart :-)Roofing's easy, just be the drop brother.
I'm sure you'll be glad when you can stop getting up on that roof enjoy your nite out.
+Akan Doherty.....Myself also. I sure was glad to see him using a 'safety' rope on the last few trips up there. I, (ONCE), stepped thru a single story roof of a building I was demolishing. It happened so fast, I didn't even realize how lucky I was to have to escaped with only bruised elbows until the next morning. It has given me the 'willies' to see him working up there the last few weeks.
Optical illusion at 8:20. Looks like you have your back foot on the ground! Yet you're on the roof.
Nice catch! I sure wouldn't be doing that one handed...
Lucky no wind that day
nice job for a lone builder! respect! (y)
Please don’t caulk the bottom, also don’t caulk the bottom of your windows
you must have an area for water to escape.
Homeowner special.. dear Lord.. I'm surprised he didn't use screws on that pj.. good luck roofing around that..
You look good in Running shoes maybe that could Be a permanent fixture at red poppy ranch. Heven knows you're always on the move.
On the roof,,traction.
I was under the impression that it was best practice not to caulk the bottoms so water can escape?
love your hard work ethic, but please, get some fall protection gear.
What is it about fireworks that makes me so fundamentally happy?
good job friend but never never very walk backwards on a roof ,I've known to to many roofers the fell off and they have worked in the field for years, keep safe and Marry Chirstmas to you and yours
I know it’s a pain in the behind. You need to tie off.
One step too many backwards and off you go. After building for years, this just happened to me and at 63 years old the recovery time isn't what it used to be.
Always carefull built your workshop...next project is the other side house....
No heating device exhaust vent. ????
Your inspector is wrong, osb is not the same as plywood. The strength is the same either direction. It's stranded.
that is one way to do it..... not the right way
Coming along. You need to attach yourself to that Safety line. Safety Harness, what you are doing is very unsafe, Just saying. Think of family.
Why not a single 4 inch vent, or even just 2?
Is that your nearest neighbor we see in the background
Thomas Gross yes
Is the neighbour doing a self build / off grid home as well ?
What about attic vents?
Progress
whats the name of it cause we use alot of metal roofing
Corrugated tin.
Gosh, talk about kitsch! 11:15
Precarious, working on the roof.
Not to hot on safety?
Kind of looked like the "safety strap" was just for looks.
Just Incase you didn't know "Christmas " is pagan ! Look into it ...lovely job on the house (0:
what town is that in the video?
i figured you would use tar paper not house wrap
Bryan Young - that's not house wrap. It is synthetic roofing underlayment. It is actually more durable than roofing felt and can be exposed to the elements before the roofing is installed. This material is actually preferred for use under metal roofs too.
Why didnt you Ice an Water the whole roof
Not required. too expensive.
who else has anxiety watching him on the roof?
I can't do what your doing holding that rope walking around doing what you're doing I'm not a fan of hight
That type of pressboard is garbage. I rather have a smaller place and use 3/4" plywood. Pressboard will expand with moisture
Your a accident waiting to happen! I've fired idiots for less offensives than you. OSHA would have office party on your fines allown. There are those of you who think OSHA does not apply to residential, but tell that to the grieving families. DAMN! ""Unsubscribed"
There's always one in a crowd...lol
Holleran Properties-see ya, we will miss you!
Holleran Properties - Safety is a state of mind, not the equipment you use. Just so you know, many people die wearing their safety gear. You're going to unsubscribe over this?!! What a drama queen
